Other Versions[edit]
Despite the difference in color, each version of the Xros Loader toy has the same exact Digimon available.
Functions[edit]
- Form teams with the Digimon you have gathered and battle with friends through infra-red.
- With its built-in voice recognition system, you can obtain Digimon via different sounds.
- Summon legendary Digimon with "DigiMemories", a form of memory card.
- Can store up to 50 MP3s.
- Features connectivity with the Digimon Xros Arena.
Operations[edit]
To operate the Xros Loader, the click wheel is used to make selections, and it may be moved either left or right. The center button confirms selections, and the right top button cancels them.
Immediately upon starting the device, you will be prompted to enter your name. You have eight characters, and the English alphabet is available (and is more quickly accessed by scrolling to the left). The Xros Loader does not have a clock function, and the time of day has no impact on gameplay. The Xros Loader may also be left alone for long periods of time with no ill effects.
When the top part of the Xros Loader is slid upwards, the microphone feature becomes active. In this mode, you will be able to search for new Digimon by pressing the center button and holding the device up to anything that makes sounds.
DigiMelodies may be used to obtain specific Digimon. Press the center button to start the sound scanning at the same time you play the DigiMelody for best results.
Not all the obtainable Digimon can be reloaded via DigiMelody; for example, in addition to "normal reload" that uses a DigiMelody for reloading, there are "random reloads" and "conditional reloads" that are only possible after meeting certain special requirements. In addition, there are some types of Digimon that are possessed since the beginning or can only be obtained after clearing specific battles.
Main Menu[edit]
Team[edit]
In this mode, you are given the opportunity to create three separate armies with which to do battle. Each army must be led by one leader Digimon, and the number of subordinates you may use increases as the leader’s level goes up.
Quest[edit]
In this mode, you travel through different Zones, doing battle and playing minigames in order to clear the Zone’s area. When you select a space on the Zone Map, there are three different outcomes. Battle: Fight and defeat the leader of that area. On the first turn of the battle, you attack with your subordinates (maximum of three at once). On the second turn, you attack with your leader Digimon. The opposing leader may not be attacked if it has three subordinates out in front of it.
- When you attack with the subordinate Digimon, the menu is as follows:
- Attack
- Other
- DigiMemory – Use DigiMemory. You may only use one DigiMemory per battle.
- DigiXros – DigiXros Digimon; DMP bar must be full. DMP bar is filled by defeating enemy’s subordinate Digimon.
- Release a DigiXros – Armament DigiXros.
- When you attack with the leader Digimon, the menu is as follows:
- Attack
- Use special ability (uses DMP)
Connect[edit]
- Battle: Battle with another Xros Loader.
- Trade: Trade Digimon with another Xros Loader.
Book[edit]
- Leader Digimon: View Digimon that are capable of serving as leaders. Pressing the upper left button will allow you to view their status screen. Scrolling left or right at the status screen brings up possible DigiXroses and the Digimon required for said Xroses.
- Subordinates: View Digimon that serve as normal troops. Pressing the upper left button will allow you to view their status screen. Scrolling left or right at the status screen brings up possible weapons Xroses.
Card[edit]
- Digimemory: Preview the effects of a Digimemory.
- Code Crown: Activates a Code Crown.
Music[edit]
- This option turns the Xros Loader into a music player. In order to use this feature, you must have an SD memory card, which will be inserted into the Code Crown slot. For the purposes of this testing, a 4 GB SD memory card loaded with a variety of MP3s at different bitrates and created with different programs was used. It is advisable to turn the Xros Loader’s own sounds off before playing music on the device, as they are not controllable at all during music playback and may surprise you in being uncomfortably loud with earbuds inserted.
- To control the music playback, the center button is used to toggle between shuffling between the tracks or controlling the volume. When the forward and back arrows are at the top of the screen, using the click wheel will shuffle through the mp3s. When the top of the screen shows a green line showing the volume of the song, the click wheel will adjust the song volume.
General[edit]
- This option views the player’s name and battle statistics.
Setting[edit]
- Background: Change the background on the Xros Loader’s main screen.
- Volume: Adjust the volume of the Xros Loader’s sound. This has no effect on the music function.
- Screen Brightness: Adjust the brightness of the screen.

Asterisk: Subordinate Digimon that don't disappear even after losing a battle.
DigiMemory[edit]
A series of toy DigiMemory cards that are compatible with the Digimon Xros Loader were produced and packaged with various Digimon Xros Wars toy lines and merchandise. They can be used in-game to summon legendary Digimon. They also have AR codes on their backs that can be scanned by the Digimon X Arena.
Many of the DigiMemories that appear in the series were packaged with each toy in the Digimon Xros Figure Series, and with LCD toys including as the Digimon Xros Loader itself. Toy-exclusive DigiMemories featuring main characters from the series were packaged with Sofubi Digital Monster Series figurines.
As an additional note, the internal configuration of the device contains data from a series of DigiMemories that remain unreleased.[1]

Quest Mode[edit]
- Primal Troopers: These calm plains are paved with rails that lead to the beyond, celebrating the departure of the heroes. This is the "Land of Beginnings", the place where all legends are told.
- Deep Savers: Every life was born from the deep sea. Those who can endure the crushing water pressure that can crush anything will witness the beautiful and majestic Abyss Sanctuary. Inside that sacred temple lives the Lord of the Net Ocean.
- Nature Spirits: The harsh and merciless great grasslands of the law of the jungle, Plants, animals and even humans. Everything here is a symbol of the struggle for survival. On the stage where Mother Nature battles with the wind, Survival begins.
- Lost Forest: A majestic ancient forest that was forgotten by the flow of time. There, unknown creatures, who have lived since ancient times, are waiting for prey to get lost in the way.
- Sand Ruins: A kingdom that once reached its pinnacle of glory, but has now turned into ruins, covered in swirling dust. The one who rules the sandy plains is a fearsome pharaoh with formidable power who took the form of the former master.
- Ice Sanctuary: A sacred space for those to continue sleeping in silence for tens of thousands of ages. Those who here were granted life are believed to wield their power to protect the sanctuary from external threats.
- Volcanic Region: The overflowing lava on the surface of the earth has been shaping the red land since ancient times. Even now numerous scattered active volcanoes are still waiting with their mouths open to swallow travelers.
- Dragon's Roar: This is a paradise of proud dragons and the entry of other creatures is prohibited. As the name suggests, the roaring of the resounding dragons continuously shakes the earth, causing every other creature to bow their heads for them.
- Wind Guardian: "Wind" is constantly flowing through this zone, at times gently, at times sharply. It protects those who dwell here, acting as a natural defense mechanism that attacks enemies from the outside.
- Metal Empire: An empire of metal in which everything has been systematized and cyborgs and machines roam freely. It has a perfect security system that continues to thwart intruders.
- Heaven's Hell: Pillars of light shining down from the heavens in a desolate land with tall mountains. A picture of hell reveals despair, but a sight of the heavenly world brings forth hope. That reality is a paradise ruled by chaos.
- Nightmare Soldiers: Here strong enemies appear one after another making a fierce assault of nightmares. This is the Ultimate Zone, a world of nightmares. It's said only brave heroes who were able to pass through Heaven's Hell can reach here.

Evolution[edit]
In keeping with its role as a Digivice linked to a particular anime series, the Xros Loader makes use of that series’ gimmick, the DigiXros. There are two types:
- Fusion DigiXros: These are the Digimon that can appear via Digixros, all consisting of a leader and several subordinates. The leader will necessary be listed first.
- Armament DigiXros: This refers to Digimon who make weapons and items when Digixrossed, as well as Digimon who have the ability to change as such on their own. Armaments DigiXros can be divided into several types according to their effects:
- Enhanced Attack: Attack one enemy while having the AP raised.
- Penetration Attack: Attack the middle 1 Digimon in the front row of the enemy and the enemy Leader. The player will not be able to select the target.
- Front Row Attack: Attack the 3 Digimon in the front row (Leader instead if there are no enemies in the front row). The player will not be able to select the target.
- Shooting Attack: Randomly attack 2-4 Digimon from the enemy's reserve Digimon. It's difficult to use and close to a trick.
- Shield: DP (defense power) increases, and normal attack damage from enemies is greatly reduced. It's a very powerful technique because it always activates.
- Counter: After receiving a normal attack, occasionally it will counterattack. The damage is normal and the activation probability is low, so it is not very reliable.

DigiMelody[edit]
New Digimon can be added to the Digimon List by listening to certain sound files, usually a DigiMelody. For officially released DigiMelodies, the functioning part of the DigiMelody is usually a string of about three notes at the beginning of the file, while the rest is simply for entertainment.
