Digimon World[edit]
Garurumon appears as an obtainable Adult-level Vaccine type Digimon in Digimon World.
A Garurumon can be found in Freezeland at the south of Yukidarumon's igloo, waiting to challenge someone to battle. However, Garurumon's rules are a bit different, as the first time it'll accuse you of cheating by using Items and won't join the city, and you have to rebattle it, this time leaving your Digimon do all the job by itself, or the cycle will repeat. Garurumon's challenge is always ensured at the 4:00 hours, be either in the morning or in the afternoon. When beaten, it will join the city as a chef in the Restaurant, along with Meramon, Yukidarumon, Tyranomon, Vademon and Digitamamon. If none of the aforementioned Digimon was recruited, Garurumon will build the Restaurant.
Both Gabumon and Penmon can evolve into Garurumon, in order to evolve into Garurumon, your Digimon must meet the following criteria:
- At least 1000 MP and 100 Speed stat requirements
- Maximum 1 Care Mistake

Garurumon is the Battle Master of Igloo City's first Battle Arena. When the player arrives, he's in a feral state due to the Digimon Kaiser and Stingmon, incapable of conversation beyond growling. Garurumon uses the Counterattack Fang deck, a Blue/Water deck with 3 in attack, defense and evolution speed, which focuses on counterattacks. Upon being defeated, he regains the ability to talk, but enters a panic state, screaming at the player that someone's there and the player must get them out of the Arena, the someone in question being Stingmon. After beating Stingmon, Garurumon can be talked to in the Battle Cafe, where he explains that he fell under the Digimon Kaiser's control, then asks the player to battle him again for the Passcode to Junk City, which he gives upon defeat, then he reopens the Battle Arena with himself as its Master. He later serves as the first battle of Igloo City's fourth Battle Arena. Upon being defeated there, he'll point out how the player's power doesn't disappoint him, but he'll evolve to Metal Garurumon next.
