Digimon New Century (数码宝贝新世纪, Shùmǎ Bǎobèi Xīn Shìjì) is a video game.
Development[edit]
The game was first playable as a beta, staring June 15, 2020, and had an estimated release date of October 13, 2021[1] however instead it was delayed a week to October 21, 2021 to provide a better gaming experience. They announced they would provide 100 free summons as compensation for said delay.[2]
On 27 September, 2021, just before the game's official release, Bandai Namco Shanghai revealed the game would include new Digimon made for the game, with one of them being based on Shan Hai Jing.[3][4]
Humankind first became aware of the Digital World when a Digimon suddenly appeared in the Real World. Conflicts between the real and the digital worlds became a constant, with radical Digimon invaders in particular setting off a war between them. The Chosen Children lead their partner Digimon to defeat the evil Digimon. With peace between both worlds eventually established, humankind created a virtual space for people to interact with Digimon so that every child can have a partner Digimon.
The game also has a secondary story mode that allows the player to play the stories of the various Digimon animes. So far they have covered the stories of Digimon Adventure and Digimon Tamers, and are part way through Digimon Frontier. They plan to cover Digimon Adventure 02, Digimon Savers, and Digimon Xros Wars.
