Appearances[edit]
Anime[edit]
Digimon Adventure[edit]
War Greymon is the partner Digimon of Yagami Taichi. Agumon gains the ability to Warp Evolve into War Greymon in "Revival! The Devil Venom Vamdemon" when, following the instructions of a prophecy about Venom Vamdemon sent by Gennai, Angewomon pierces Taichi with an arrow of light. He and Ishida Yamato's Metal Garurumon, with the assistance of ropes of light created by the Crests, destroy Venom Vamdemon in "Two Great Ultimate Evolutions! Get Rid of the Darkness!"
War Greymon is responsible for destroying two of the Dark Masters: Metal Seadramon in "Silence at the Bottom of the Ocean, Whamon", and Mugendramon in "Farewell Numemon". In both cases, he exploits their weakness to his Dramon Killers. He also contributes, along with the other partner Digimon and their allies, to the defeat of Piemon in and Apocalymon in "A New World".
Digimon Adventure: Our War Game![edit]
War Greymon is the partner Digimon of Yagami Taichi. Agumon takes this form for the final attack on Diablomon. Although he and Metal Garurumon initially fare well against Diablomon, they are crippled by a bandwidth overload from the emails being sent to cheer them on, and Diablomon's many copies overwhelm and critically wound them. When all seems to be lost, both the hopes of people all over the world cheering the Chosen Children on by email, as well as Taichi and Ishida Yamato's determination to stand with their partner Digimon, empower War Greymon and Metal Garurumon, and they fuse into Omegamon.
Digimon Adventure 02[edit]
War Greymon is the partner Digimon of Yagami Taichi. Initially, Agumon is unable to access this form because, as Izumi Kōshirō relates to Motomiya Daisuke's group of Chosen Children "The Unparalleled Union! Paildramon" , Taichi had surrendered the power of his Crest of Courage in 2000 in order to free the Four Holy Beasts, taking away Agumon's ability to evolve past Adult.
Agumon develops a sense of sympathy and familiarity with Black War Greymon, since he is a doppelgänger of his War Greymon form. In "Black War Greymon vs War Greymon" , Qinglongmon shares the power of one of its Digicores with Agumon to restore his ability to Warp Evolve into War Greymon, so that he can stop Black War Greymon from killing Oikawa Yukio and thus destroying the only lead they have to get the Dark Seeds out of Oikawa's victims. War Greymon is also present for the death of Black War Greymon in "Black War Greymon's Seal" , and mourns his loss.
War Greymon's image is also briefly seen in the stock footage for V-mon Armor Evolving into Fladramon.
Digimon Adventure 02: Diablomon Strikes Back[edit]
War Greymon is the partner Digimon of Yagami Taichi. This form does not appear in full, but Agumon briefly becomes War Greymon's head while he and Gabumon are in the process of fusing into Omegamon.
Digimon Xros Wars: The Evil Death Generals and the Seven Kingdoms[edit]
War Greymon is a member of the chivalric order of Digimon that became the DigiMemories. His DigiMemory, along with that of Examon, had been stranded floating in Digital Space following the order's defeat and shattering of the Digital World.
In "Bagra Brothers, The Bond of Darkness!", War Greymon and Examon call out from their DigiMemories to Hinomoto Akari and Tsurugi Zenjirou when Bagramon begins the petrification of the Real World, and instruct the two to grab onto the DigiMemories, which are embedded in the barrier between the Real World and Digital Space, to protect themselves from being petrified.
Later, when Akari and Zenjirou reunite with Kudou Taiki and his allies in "Approach! The Human World's Last Day, D5!!", War Greymon and Examon manifest as holograms to speak with the group. As they explain in "Glorious DigiXros, Seize it! Our Future!!", their DigiMemories had inadvertently gotten caught on Tactimon when he traveled to the Real World, but had then gotten stuck in the barrier between the Real World and Digital Space, preventing them from intervening in events until Akari and Zenjirou found them.
They and the other DigiMemories awaken Omegamon's DigiMemory, and the fifteen DigiMemories exhaust their powers to assist Taiki in entering the Dark Stone to save Shoutmon. When the Code Crown chooses Taiki over Bagramon, War Greymon, along with all the other DigiMemory Digimon, is returned to life, and he contributes to the formation of Shoutmon X7: Superior Mode.
Digimon Xros Wars: The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time[edit]
War Greymon is the partner Digimon of Yagami Taichi.
In "The Golden Insect! The Mystery of Metallife Kuwagamon" , Taichi and War Greymon, along with Daimon Masaru and Shine Greymon, arrive to assist Akashi Tagiru and Arresterdramon in a battle against a Giant Cucumber.
In "The Gathering of the Legendary Heroes! The Digimon All-star Showdown!!" , when all of the "legendary heroes" from other worlds gather to reinforce Xros Heart in holding off Quartzmon's army of Vamdemons, Agumon Warp Evolves into this form again. When Ishida Yamato and Metal Garurumon arrive, War Greymon and Metal Garurumon fuse into Omegamon.
Digimon Adventure tri.[edit]
War Greymon is the partner Digimon of Yagami Taichi.
Agumon Ultimate Evolves into this form for the battle with Alphamon in "Reunion" . In "Confession" , during the Reboot countdown, Agumon evolves into War Greymon while in an Infected state and attacks Atlur Kabuterimon/Herakle Kabuterimon. Once Herakle Kabuterimon urges the partner Digimon to come to their senses, War Greymon, along with the others, all walk together into the distortion portal as the countdown ends.
Post-Reboot, Agumon regains the ability to evolve into War Greymon in "Loss" during the fight with the Mysterious Man's Metal Seadramon, when Agumon comes to rescue Taichi after he has been knocked into the ocean, and they have an epiphany about the nature of their bond. Agumon takes the form of War Greymon again during the fight with Alphamon, JESmon, and Raguelmon in "Coexistence" , and again (briefly, while on the way toward forming Omegamon) during the last battle with Ordinemon in "Our Future" after his pre-Reboot memories are restored.
Digimon Universe Appli Monsters[edit]
War Greymon is the evolved form of Agumon, Shinkai Haru's partner Digimon in his old Digimon Universe video game. When Haru and Agumon are reunited in "Legendary Battle!? Gatchmon VS Agumon!" , their rekindled bond enables Agumon to Warp Evolve into War Greymon. War Greymon works with Globemon, Haru's Buddy Appmon, to foil Uratekumon's plan.
Digimon Adventure:[edit]
War Greymon is the partner Digimon of Yagami Taichi.
In a past life, as revealed to Taichi and Agumon by Valdurmon in "The Holy Digimon" , War Greymon was part of a group of six heroes who fought in the war against the Dark Digimon together with the Holy Digimon. According to Valkyrimon in "The Crest of Courage" , this historical War Greymon also once formed Omegamon with Metal Garurumon to cut off unsealed Zeed Millenniumon's left head, giving the opening for Seraphimon and Ofanimon to destroy him.
In "The Final Stage, Done Devimon" , when Agumon has Dark Evolved into Mugendramon and is on a rampage, Tokomon uses his holy powers to reach through to Agumon and bring him to his senses. Because of this, Agumon emerges from Mugendramon as a glowing spectral version of War Greymon, who tears through Done Devimon to save Taichi, killing Done Devimon in the process.
Agumon evolves into War Greymon for real for the first time in "The Ultimate, War Greymon" . When Taichi and Agumon (as Metal Greymon: Alterous Mode) are cornered by Crossmon and a band of Allomon, their determination to keep going activates Taichi's Crest of Courage, and Metal Greymon Ultimate Evolves into War Greymon.

The NPC War Greymon is the partner Digimon of Yagami Taichi. He appears in this form in Beginner City's Battle Cafe after clearing the first round of Extra Arenas. Upon talking to him, he tells the player he's been waiting for him, and that he's Greymon who has evolved to the Ultimate level. He challenges the player to enter the Battle Arena, which he's prepared especially for him. As such, he serves as the last opponent in Beginner City's third Battle Arena, where he tells the player that this is his strongest level at the time, and that he must cleanse his soul if he wishes to keep winning. War Greymon plays the Hero of Flame deck, a Red/Flame deck with 4 attack, 4 defense and 3 evolution speed that's perfectly balanced with no weak links. Upon being defeated, he praises the player's willpower while telling him he has a long way to go, and that winning isn't everything.
War Greymon later appears as the sixth and final opponent of Sage Tower's second Battle Arena. Before the first match, he points out how far the player's come and how the Arena was prepared especially for him, asking him if he's enjoyed himself so far. Upon being defeated, he praises the player's concentration and accepts his defeat with no regrets because it was a great battle and made him feel like all his training paid off. He then tells the player he's glad they met, as the player gave him a chance to take himself to another level.
War Greymon is also the second opponent of Beginner City's fourth and last Battle Arena, evolving once again from Greymon to face the player.

Digimon Crusader[edit]
Digimon Adventure[edit]
War Greymon is Yagami Taichi's Partner Digimon. He first evolves into this form in Episode 48, "The Resurrected Venom Vamdemon" to fight Venom Vamdemon. Afterwards, he can evolve in-battle by paying 30 SP from Agumon, 25 SP from Greymon, or 15 SP from Metal Greymon, or start the battle as such by equipping the EVO Boost III DigiPiece. War Greymon's attacks are:
- Gaia Force: deals damage to all enemies. Costs 20 SP.
- Brave Tornado: deals multiple hits to all enemies. Deals higher damage against Dramon Digimon. Costs 16 SP.
- Dramon Killer: deals multiple hits to one enemy. Deals higher damage against Dramon Digimon. Costs 5 SP.
As Taichi and his group reached the spatial core in Episode 74, "Everyone Unite! The Final Battle", Hackmon felt something coming, said something was a copy of War Greymon. Agumon and Hackmon realized this was the very last copy and their victory would stop the spatial control core.
War Greymon is the 83rd obligatory boss of the game, fighting Agumon and two other protagonist Digimon in Episode 74, "Everyone Unite! The Final Battle". It has the same attacks as the playable War Greymon. It can attack three times per turn and counter any damage taken with a critical hit thanks to its Continuous Action and Ultra Counter support abilities. After being defeated, it drops an ATK Charge Ω+ DigiPiece, which lets the user use the namesake technique to increase the party's attack by two stages. However, this DigiPiece is only usable in New Game + as there is no chance to change equipment before the next, and final, boss battle.
After defeating the copy, Hackmon exclaimed they had no time left then ran into the core, which recreated every copy. Hackmon asked Taichi and Agumon to deliver his message to Gankoomon: that he successfully guided the Chosen Children to the spatial core, then shouted.
