English[edit]
- As a play on his “evil clown” motif, Piemon is given a Tim Curry impression for a voice in the dub. Curry played Pennywise the Clown in the 1990 miniseries adaptation of Stephen King’s It.
- Sukamon’s death is obscured in the dub by having Chuumon simply claim that he “lost” him.
- Chuumon‘s death is also covered up in the dub. His final words to Mimi are changed from a request to go out on a date with her when he is reborn to a statement that he is being “deleted”. Additionally, the shot of him getting stabbed is cut entirely.
- The death of Piccolomon is also removed to create a cliffhanger for the next episode. A shot of the kids watching the battle is moved to the end of the episode in order to accommodate this.
