Agumon and Gabumon warp evolve to their ultimate forms, War Greymon and Metal Garurumon. They both jump at Venom Vamdemon, attacking together. They knock him backwards, and Metal Garurumon freezes him with Cocytus Breath. Venom Vamdemon breaks the ice, however, and the fight continues. Venom Vamemon fires his Venom Infuse everywhere, destroying buildings at a catastrophic rate.
From the convention center, Jo, Sora, and Mimi are watching with their partners. Shin walks up and says there’s been no change in the adults' condition. Gomamon says they need to beat Vamdemon to help them, and everyone wants to go fight. Jo starts running towards the fight, and the girls follow, asking Shin to take care of their parents.
In the confusion of the fight, Taichi, Yamato, Takeru, and Hikari have all been separated, and the smoke hinders their sight. Venom Vamdemon swats the Digimon aside, smashing them into buildings. Koshiro sees Ikkakumon, Togemon, and Birdramon joining the fight, and Tentomon evolves to the Adult level as well. All of the Digimon attack Venom Vamdemon at once, and he starts to roar in pain. War Greymon’s Brave Tornado tears a hole in his abdomen, going straight through him. He falls over, but stands up again, and a face emerges from the hole War Greymon ripped. It roars, then spits out inky darkness onto the ground, which knocks all the Digimon away. The Chosen Children look on in fear, but can’t do anything. Suddenly their Crests all begin to glow brightly. Beams of light shoot out, wrapping tightly around Venom Vamdemon, restraining him.
At Taichi’s urging, War Greymon and Metal Garurumon attack the small face inside of Venom Vamdemon with Gaia Force and Cocytus Breath. Venom Vamdemon thrashes, screaming, then breaks into pieces and dies. In the convention center, all the adults wake up in various states of confusion, their minds restored. Everyone’s Digimon partners return to them, in the forms of Koromon, Tunomon, Piyomon, Gomamon, Tentomon, Palmon, Tokomon, and Plotmon. The fog finally begins to clear, but it reveals that the sky is striped with lines of land. Everyone is shocked, and news stations report that upside down continents are visible in strips of the sky all around the world, though no radar of any kind can detect them.
Takeru and Yamato’s mother arrives, as the boats are working again. She is happy to see both her sons are safe, and awkwardly says hello to her ex-husband. Takeru is oblivious to the tension, and happily says it’s been a while since they’ve all been together. A plane flies up to do renaissance on the sky, but the whole thing freezes over and falls out of the sky. The children all worry about their parents, and Shin drives up, delivering the news that everyone has woken up and are better. Shin uses a handheld radio to listen to the news. It says that the continents really are there, and they might never go away.
They children wonder why this is happening, but are fairly sure Vamdemon is dead enough not to cause this. Koshiro sees a mountain in the sky that he says looks exactly like Infinity Mountain from File Island. At his request, Taichi looks through his pocket telescope, but sees a plane in the sky instead. The plane can’t connect to the control tower, but doesn’t have enough fuel to go any farther. The plane starts to fall, and Piyomon evolves to save it. As Birdramon flies up to the plane, she sees Kuwagamon. As he passes the plane, the wing freezes solid, causing it to lose control further. Birdramon isn’t strong enough to lift the plane alone, but with Sora’s encouragement, evolves to Garudamon. Kabuterimon flies up to help, but sees Kuwagamon and fires a Mega Blaster. It goes straight through Kuwagamon, and Garudamon warns Kabuterimon not to touch him.
After the plane is safe, the children regroup. The Digimon confirm that Kuwagamon was there, and that he flew out of the sky. Koshiro says he knew it, and explains that the Digital World is what’s showing in the sky. Shin’s radio shows images of Digimon throughout the world. The group wonders how on earth to deal with them, because if they touch the invaders, they’ll freeze, and Kabuterimon’s attack was ineffectual. Plotmon tells Hikari that the Digital World is no longer the one she knew, and Koshiro realizes that several years must have passed in the Digital World due to the time difference. Koromon says that because they left without fixing the distortions, they must have gotten a lot worse, and so it’s affecting the real world as well.
Taichi says they need to go back, and the kids all hold out their Digivices. The Digivices glow, sending out a flare of light. Takeru’s mother tells him not to go, but Yamato says if they don’t, the world will be destroyed. Shin tells them to go, and after a moment, all the children leap into the rainbow stream of light. As they float up, the parents from the convention center arrive. Their children tell them not to worry, though there are tears in their eyes.
