| Yamato is in the warehouse, hitting the wall in frustration. Sora is there also, wondering how this could have happened. Yamato says he promised to protect Hikari. Sora says they won’t be able to do anything if they give in to frustration, and Yamato snaps himself out of it. Taichi and Agumon, unaware that Hikari has been captured, are running into the convention center where the children are to rescue them. Inside, Pico Devimon tells Vamdemon that the eighth child has been found. Mimi and Tailmon are dismayed. At Vamdemon’s orders, Pico Devimon puts the children to sleep, and leaves with Vamdemon and Tailmon. After they leave, Mimi’s Crest glows briefly, and she wakes up. Taichi and Agumon encounter a group of Bakemon, and Agumon evolves to Greymon, taking them out with a Mega Flame. Mimi hears the noise and runs out of a nearby room. She tells Taichi Vamdemon has the eighth child.
In the T.V. center, Koshiro looks out the window and sees Yamato and Sora with their Digimon. Hiroaki is alarmed to see them with Garurumon and Garudamon, but Koshiro reassures him they’re friends with them. Tentomon agrees, surprising Hiroaki by speaking in his typical Kansai dialect.
Zudomon is still swimming through the fog. Takeru and Jo wonder about Wizarmon, and as they talk, he wakes up. Takeru introduces himself, but Wizarmon immediately asks where Hikari is. He says he needs to give the Crest to her as soon as possible. There is some confusion, because ‘hikari’ means ‘light’, but after a moment, they realize he’s talking about Taichi’s younger sister. They're shocked, and then Wizarmon says the Crest is very important to both Hikari and Tailmon. At their questions, Wizarmon confirms that Tailmon is Hikari’s Digimon.
Koshiro and Hiroaki go out to meet Yamato and Sora. Garurumon says hello to Yamato’s father, startling him and saying he evolved from Gabumon. Zudomon walks out of the mist, setting down Jo, Takeru and Wizarmon. Takeru runs to hug his father, saying he was so worried about everyone he had to come. Wizarmon sees Lilimon, still frozen and gray on Garudamon’s hand. He recognizes that she was attacked by Vamdemon’s Dead Scream, and uses magic to restore her. Takeru and Jo say he’s not a bad Digimon, and has a Crest. Wizarmon says Tailmon has been taken by Vamdemon and he wants to save her. Takeru tells the group there that Tailmon is Hikari’s Digimon, prompting gasps of surprise.
Koshiro says that the T.V. station is where the fog barrier originated. As he is talking. Vamdemon flies overhead, going into the station. He is holding Tailmon. Yamato says they should go to where he is, and Hiroaki says he’ll lead them there. Snimon and Tuskmon burst out of the ground, and Garurumon evolves to Were Garurumon. The Digimon stay behind to fight, except for Lilimon and Wizarmon, who go with the humans to help Hikari, though Wizarmon is still frail, and needs help to go.
Greymon, carrying Taichi and Mimi, runs towards the T.V. station. They see the other’s Digimon fighting Snimon and Tuskmon, and hurry to help. In the station, Vamdemon asks Hikari why she gave herself up, and if he knows what he’s going to do to her. She says that he’s hurting everyone. Tailmon looks away, and Vamdemon asks why. She says Hikari is not the eighth child, and she’s never seen her before. Pico Devimon yanks Hikari’s hair, causing her to cry out. Tailmon cries her name instinctively, giving herself away. Vamdemon releases Tailmon, and she stands protectively in front of Hikari. Vamdemon announces his Dead Scream attack, and Tentomon evolves to Kabuterimon, the group of Chosen Children bursting into the room. Vamdemon starts to leave, and the Digimon who were engaging Snimon and Tuskmon fly up to the platform. Kabuterimon super evolves, and becomes Atlur Kabuterimon.
Vamdemon throws Were Garurumon off the building. Wizarmon attacks him from behind with Magic Game, causing him to flinch. He throws Hikari her Crest, and Vamdemon flings him against the building. Greymon, Taichi, and Mimi arrive, and Taichi throws Hikari her Digivice, warning Vamdemon he won’t get off easy if he hurts Hikari. Pico Devimon steals the Digivice from Hikari’s hand, and Vamdemon sends Fantomon to fight Greymon, who evolves to Metal Greymon. Fantomon immediately backs off, and all the Perfect level Digimon use their attacks on Vamdemon. He holds out his hands and makes them dissolve.
Patamon evolves to Angemon, causing Vamdemon to curse. Angemon uses Heaven's Knuckle, and Vamdemon screams, falling to his knees and grabbing his chest. Angemon demands that Vamdemon give himself up. Vamdemon refuses and attacks Hikari and Tailmon with Night Raid. Everyone gasps in horror, and Tailmon attempts to shelter Hikari. Wizarmon moves quickly, managing to block the onslaught of power. Tailmon and Hikari start to cry, and Wizarmon says he’s glad it happened this way, because if he hadn’t met Tailmon, his life would be empty. He dies, and Hikari screams. Her Digivice lights up, and Pico Devimon is unable to hold it. Taichi throws it to Hikari again, and Tailmon super evolves to Angewomon.
Everyone gasps, and Angewomon charges Vamdemon with his crimes of attacking the Chosen Children, coming to the real world, and killing Wizarmon. Vamdemon says he will change this world to darkness and rule it. He starts to attack, but Angewomon uses Saint’s Air. All the Digimon feel their strength coming back, and use their attacks to give power to Angewomon. She channels them all into her Holy Arrow attack, and as she aims, Vamdemon cries out in fear. Her arrow pierces him straight through the chest, and kills him.
Everyone cheers. The building is still unstable, and they quickly get down. They continue celebrating, but Takeru and Hikari point out that the fog isn’t gone. They realize she’s right, and don’t know what to do.
