Tachikawa Mimi is one of the protagonists of Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure tri., and one of the supporting characters in Digimon Adventure 02.
Profile[edit]
Mimi is best described as a "girly girl", what with her love for fashion and the color pink. Though she is rather spoiled, prissy, and tends to complain when times get too tough for her, she is also a sweet and sensitive girl who cares a lot about her friends. She is very naive and carefree because of the guarded nature of her upbringing. Her innocence causes her to be very blunt, and she will not hesitate to tell everyone exactly what she thinks. She is partnered to Palmon and is the bearer of the Crest of Purity.
Mimi is the only child in a loving and carefree family. Her parents, who are very loving and emotional individuals that often act like newlyweds, tend to spoil Mimi and coddle her, which she certainly enjoys. In the English dub, she states that she has a baby brother.

Appearances[edit]
Anime[edit]
Prelude to Digimon Adventure[edit]
When Mimi was young, she lived in Hikarigaoka with her parents and attended Wakaba Preschool. In 1995, she witnessed the fight between Greymon and Parrotmon. After this, her family moved to Odaiba.
Digimon Adventure[edit]
Since Mimi was spoiled by her parents and raised in a carefree environment, she whined and complained a lot about the hardships of the journey at first. She's a pacifist who didn't like to fight, but did so anyway because she wanted to protect her friends.
Despite being horribly out of touch with reality at points, Mimi was arguably one of the most realistic and feeling characters of Adventure. She demonstrated this near the end of the series when she decided (temporarily) that she can't fight alongside the other Chosen Children, after seeing a lot of the friends they made earlier die for their sake. She left the group with Kido Jou, who offered to protect her. However, after they witnessed the death of Leomon, another friend, they realized that they had to fight to prevent more friends from dying. Following this, they started gathering the remaining friends of the Chosen for a big fight at the top of Mugen Mountain.
Digimon Adventure: Our War Game![edit]
Mimi was taking a vacation in Hawaii when Koushirou and Taichi were trying to gather the Chosen Children, and was unavailable and unaware of the crisis.
Between Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02[edit]
On May 2000, Mimi arrived in the Digital World and gave up her Crest power to free the Four Holy Beasts. As a result, Palmon lost the power to evolve to Perfect.
Shortly before September 2001, she and her parents moved to New York City in the United States. She was in Manhattan during the September 11th attacks, and rushed to the wreckage to help the rescue efforts. At Ground Zero, she met Michael and the rest of the American Chosen Children.
Digimon Adventure 02[edit]
Mimi had become well-integrated in the United States, finding many friends and dressing according to the current fashion. Though more mature than she was three years before, she still came off as a bit of a ditz at times. Around Golden Week of 2002, Mimi came to participate in her older cousin's wedding, and took a few hours to join the younger Chosen Children at a picnic in the Digital World.
That summer, a gate to the Digital World opened in America, allowing Mimi to access the Digital World at least twice. On the first time, she introduced the younger Chosen Children to Michael. On the second, she was playing with a bunch of Yukimi Botamon, while Palmon was out collecting more food. Palmon was the first to witness Archnemon, who converted a Dark Tower into a Digimon and ordered it to destroy a nearby dam. Palmon ran back to warn Mimi, who called the Chosen Children for help, and when their Digimon were all exhausted and defeated, she was the one to message Ken.
When the Chosen Children traveled around the world to round up wild Digimon that had come through the Digital Gates on Christmas Day, Michael brought Daisuke and V-mon from Miami, Florida, all the way to Manhattan, where the two boys and Mimi orchestrated the rounding up of the Digimon.

Takeru and Hikari were visiting her in New York. While she took their picture with a digital camera, something odd happened. She went to a telephone booth to connect her laptop to test the connection, but disappeared a few moments later. Takeru and Hikari were left to determine what made her disappear into thin air.
Digimon Adventure 02: Diablomon Strikes Back[edit]
In the first part of the movie, she was traveling to Japan by plane and later showed up at the school computer lab where Koushiro, Takeru and Hikari were.
25 Years Later[edit]
By the year 2028, Mimi becomes a very famous and well-loved chef who has her own cooking show that is broadcast worldwide. Palmon is an equal partner on the show, helping Mimi out with her cooking. Mimi is married and has a son, who has a Tanemon for a partner.

Meanwhile, Mimi is forced to sit and witness the terrible battle. At the end, they discover that Nat-chan just wanted to be Daisuke's Digimon partner, and then the three Chosen Children decide to find a partner to Nat-chan.

Digimon World: Digital Card Arena[edit]
Mimi in her 02 design appears alongside her partner, Lilimon, in Jungle City's Battle Café after Takenouchi Sora in Flame City is beaten. However, she won't speak to the player until after Lilimon is defeated. Afterwards, she'll introduce herself to the player and ask for his name and what he's doing, to which he answers Card Battles, which Mimi plays too but considers them boring, and Lilimon constantly asks her to play with her and asked her to play with the player, too, while she only wants to go home. Mimi plays the Princess Deck, a Blue/Ice, Green/Nature, Black/Darkness and Yellow/Rare deck which includes 24 Digimon that protect her, the namesake Princess. Upon being defeated, she orders the player to give her a rematch because she can't stand losing, and also orders Lilimon to train with her for said rematch.

Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode[edit]
After Taiga has beaten Yagami Taichi, Takenouchi Sora and Ishida Yamato in the Colosseum, Mimi sends him an e-mail, as usual under her initials, complaining she was excluded from the fun so Taiga had to face her and Palmon at the Colosseum 10th floor, in the Free Battle: "Lovely Girl", where she introduces herself to Taiga then sends Palmon to face him. After being defeated, Mimi is worried Palmon will die, so she has to tell her that wouldn't kill her. Mimi then decides to go home because she wants a cold cola and nearly leaves without Palmon. This awards Taiga the Ballet Skirt accesory.
Later, under her full name, Mimi sends Taiga another mail, challenging him to fight against her evolved Palmon. This is the 10th floor Free Battle: "Innocent and Cute Girl". Before the battle, Mimi has Palmon evolve into Togemon. While Togemon was confident, Mimi thought she wasn't as cute as before, so Togemon evolves once again into Lilimon, which Mimi does find beautiful. Lilimon proclaims her love for Mimi and how she'll do her best, while Taiga is left wordless. Once again, after being defeated, Mimi worries that Lilimon is going to die and Palmon has to reassure her she won't. Mimi then thanks Taiga for the match and acknowledges his feelings for his Partner Digimon were stronger than hers. Telling him he shouldn't forget that pure feeling, Mimi gives him two Chips of Purity, which contain the power of her Crest of Purity.
Mimi fights alongside Marin Angemon in the Heavenly Hall Tournament "Legendary Digimon Battle".
