A Digital Gate (デジタルゲート, Dejitaru Gēto) is a portal between the Real World and the Digital World.
Appearances[edit]
Anime[edit]
Digimon Adventure 02[edit]
For the most part, the Digital Gate is a program that can be run from most PCs to allow for easy passage between the Real and Digital Worlds. Passage through it can be activated with a Digivice or D-3. Meddling by the Digimon Kaiser caused a temporary lock-out to where only the D-3 devices could functionally open it. Television sets found sporadically around the Digital World can be used for the return trip.
Digimon Savers[edit]
Digital Gates are conduits between the Real and Digital Worlds formed by Digimon, or artificially through the use of Digital Dive apparatus or a space-time oscillation bomb.
Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna[edit]
Izumi Kōshirō opens a Digital Gate to send Parrotmon back to the Digital World. In addition the Chosen Children make use of them to quickly travel anywhere in the Real World, such as Japan > Digital World > United States.
Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning[edit]
At the beginning of the movie, Inoue Miyako and Hawkmon use a Digital Gate to travel from India to Motomiya Daisuke's ramen restaurant in Japan.
Digimon Adventure -Beyond-[edit]
As Yatagaramon attacked them, Yagami Taichi asked Hida Iori if he could open a Digital Gate from a smartphone. Iori answered he needed it to have signal, which Taichi's smartphone thankfully did, so he ordered the younger Chosen Child to open a Gate and leave with the Nordic Boy. Yatagaramon tried to ram the car again but Yamato managed to avoid it. Accepting the situation, Iori rose his D-3 and opened the Digital Gate. He told the Nordic Boy to go first, then followed alongside Armadimon.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger Prelude[edit]
Aegiomon's Digitama entered the human world from a Digital Gate, and numerous Digimon heavily implied to be accidentally summoned by Junomon out of a fit of rage followed. The incident resulted in the deaths of Misono Inori's mother and younger brother, Misono Yuta.
Manga[edit]
Digimon Next[edit]
Mikihara Norn opened a Digital Gate through Kitajima Ami's Digimon Mini in "Digital World!" to transfer Victory Greymon and Z'd Garurumon to N.E.O's area using the souls and Digisouls of the Tamers through the Digimon Twin Digivices.
Digimon Xros Wars[edit]
Digimon Liberator[edit]
When a battle starts, both players declare "Digital Gate Open". No actual Digital Gates appear in the manga.
Video Games[edit]
Digimon Savers: Another Mission[edit]
Digimon ReArise[edit]
The Tamers are sent to the Digital World through a Digital Gate opened by the Spiral. Usually a Digital Gate would send everyone to the same place, however the Spiral's influence caused them all to be split up instead.
Huckmon can also open Digital Gates, something regular Digimon aren't able to do.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger[edit]
Junomon was in charge of the Digital Gates between the human world and Iliad and can open gates on her own. This has proven to be fatal for both the Digital and human worlds, as Junomon's obsessive attachment to Aegiomon has caused her to accidentally summon dangerous Digimon into the human world and endangering human lives, something that she has done twice in-game with devastating consequences.
Titamon can also open Digital Gates by cleaving through space, although only he himself can freely move between the gates he opened.
TCG[edit]
Digimon Card Game[edit]
The card P-206 Digital Gate Open makes reference to the use of the Digital Gate terminology in Digimon Liberator.
