Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode[edit]
While searching for the Railroad Plains Memorial Stella, Rina, as "Shinomiya Rina", sends Taiga an e-mail. She explained in that mail that she could see Taiga in her computer after opening an old, password-locked folder by accident. She realized Taiga wasn't in the game and wondered how he got there, so she asked him to stay in touch.
After restoring the Signpost Woods Memorial Stella, Rina sends Taiga a second mail, challenging him to face her in the Colosseum's 1st floor as a Free Battle, "Mysterious Girl". There, she challenged Taiga to see how strong someone that was really in the Digital World was, alongside her Partner Digimon, V.V. the V-mon. She's shocked at how skilled Taiga is after her defeat. This awards Taiga a V-mon card.
After restoring the Ancient Bone Swamp and Submerged Ruins Memorial Stellae, Rina, as "Rina-chan", sends Taiga a third mail, with another challenge on the Colosseum's 10th floor. This is the Free Battle: "I'm gonna kick yer butt!", where she puts up an excuse that she was distracted last time. She bets V.V.'s favourite food in the fight, so V.V. reminds her that's chocolate, not Tianjin Chestnuts, a mistake she has made several times in the past. Rina is saddened by her defeat after the fight, V.V. tells her they should train since otherwise they'll never win but Rina thinks that's a pain. This awards Taiga three Divine Chestnuts, proving V.V.'s worries.
After restoring the Underground Waterway Labyrinth and Fluorescent Cave Memorial Stellae, Rina, as "RinaRina", sends Taiga a fourth mail, with another challenge on the Colosseum's 20th floor. This is the Free Battle: "No longer a V-mon". As the name states, before this battle V.V. evolved into V-dramon, which let Rina create a whole new battle strategy. Neither that strategy nor the training they did was enough to win, however, as V.V. answered to Rina's complaints, though he hadn't given up and intended to live up to the V in his name, which stood for Victory. This raised Rina's spirits, though she missed how he was before evolving.
Some time after restoring the Gravel Wasteland Memorial Stella, Rina, as simply "Rina", sent Taiga a fifth mail, explaining she was attacked by Orgemon. She easily won said fight and Orgemon gave her an app for defeating him, though said app wasn't released and wasn't working yet. This also confirmed Rina as someone with the aptitude, "Decode", like Taiga. After restoring the Boncano Volcano or Powdery Cliff Memorial Stella, Rina, as Princess Rina, sends Taiga a sixth mail, sure of her victory now since V.V. was now the ultimate weapon. They fight in the 30th floor Free Battle: "Rina's Revenge!". There, she orders Taiga to kneel in front of her V-dramon, now the strongest of all after their training, though V.V. just tells her to stop goofing around and calm down because victory will be on their side. After the fight, V.V. tells her they entered the fight too soon since he's still just an Adult-level so they should train and aim for the Perfect level. Rina accepts this but asks him if he's really her Partner Digimon since their personalities are so different. Annoyed, V.V. just tells her to get going, but Rina wants to watch a TV show, so V.V. tells her to record it so they can train. Angered, Rina just logs out. This awards Taiga a V-Tamer Certificate.
After restoring the Binary Castle Memorial Stella, Rina, as Rina-chan MVP, sends Taiga a seventh mail, singing about how her V.V. reached the Perfect level and challenging Taiga to a battle in the 40th floor. This is the Free Battle: "The Final Showdown!", where Rina and V.V. feel confident in their chances now that V.V. is an Aero V-dramon. Their defeat leaves Rina terrified of Taiga. Afterwards, in the lobby, Rina suddenly appears inside the game for a second before returning to her generic avatar. This scares her even more, leading her to log out for the day, though she did think being in the Digital World was amazing.
After Taiga defeated Vitium Ultimate, Rina, who was on her computer, was suddenly startled by a massive thunderstorm. As she got up to see it from her window, the news informed of disturbances all around the Real World. A message from an unknown sender then appeared on her smartphone Digivice. Opening it caused her to be sent into the Digital World through her Digivice. She woke up in an unknown room and thought it must be a dream, only to quickly snap back to reality. She then got a mail from V.V. (as V-mon) who could feel her presence close despite her not being logged into the game so he asked her to call for him. Rina was confused, as V.V. had never sent her mail before and her Digivice was acting strangely. Rina tried calling V.V.'s name softly, then screamed it. That last one worked, and V.V. opened a hole in the wall, also knocking Rina to the ground to her annoyance. He then entered the room, happy he found his Tamer, though Rina was just confused about the whole situation. V.V. explained he thought it was strange since he felt the reaction of the Digivice very close. Rina asked him where they were and V.V. answered they were in the Digital World, specifically at the upper level of the Digitower. Rina went through a bunch of thoughts then, arriving in what they should do now, though V.V. didn't know, but he remembered Taiga, who also was in the Digital World, and thought he could help her understand her situation. Rina agreed, so V.V. told Rina to go through the hole he made to find Taiga. However, Rina couldn't do it since they were clearly way too high, the 50th floor to be exact, and she was scared of heights. V.V. told her to stop being selfish since he used his whole evolution power to break that hole in the wall and she should put it to good use. Rina realized that V.V. devolved due to that attack. Rina accepted to continue, just this once, which made V.V. wonder why he even rescued her. Rina wondered what they'd find and psyched herself to go through the hole.
Rina then becomes the player character. As Rina, the lower screen loses all of its functions so the player cannot enter Digivice Mode, read mail or interact with V.V. Neither Digitter nor the map work, either. During combat, V.V. works like Digimaru normally does but DigiMemories cannot be used and battles will not award any rewards.
On the next room, Rina and V.V. found a Black Growmon who asked her if she was a human since all of those were meant to be trapped so Rina must be a bad guy. Rina realized they had no choice so she decided to have fun as if this was still just the Digital Monster game. After beating it, something flew out of the Black Growmon's body and into Rina. It then ran into the elevator to warn its allies, as an alarm started to sound. Rina and V.V. tried to follow it but the elevator stopped working and a shutter went down, trapping them. Rina had V.V. break a terminal since both of them found it way too noisy. While that stopped the alarm, V.V. immediately realized that was a bad move and Rina realized they were definitely trapped now. V.V. suddenly started suffering but it was just hunger, while Rina herself was suddenly dizzy. Despite this, them destroying the terminal reactivated the elevator for Taiga and the rest.
After Rina woke up, Taiga talks to her through a shutter. She introduces herself, not knowing who's on the other side, and explains V.V. and her are hungry and need help. After realizing who's the other side, Rina realizes how lucky she is, but then wonders if she's unlucky instead. Regardless, she wants food for V.V., since he's hungry and it's affecting her too. She also explains V.V. is eating much more than he did in the game and her Digivice is strange, but that matters less than getting food ASAP. She then sends Taiga a mail, repeating her need for food and telling him to go get a Digimon in front of the Colosseum to get her food. Thankfully, Orgemon is up to the task and, as explained in a mail from Rina to Taiga, brings her three Sirloins, although Rina at first thought he was an enemy and knocked him over, they then ate together. Orgemon also explained to her the situation. V.V. filling his belly returned Rina's energy, which she wondered was because they were in the Digital World.
After Taiga gets to the 60th floor once more, Rina shows herself to Taiga, Rindou Akiho, Nicolai Petrov, Kuga Yuuya, Mikagura Mirei and Ofanimon. Nico was surprised to see her, though that surprise turned to annoyance after Rina called him a weakling. She then introduced herself to the rest and explained they met when she defeated him in the Colosseum. Taiga got her up to date with the current situation. While Rina wondered what they were missing, Ofanimon said that Rina was exactly that, since her Digivice capacity was irregularly high, perhaps because it was allowing her to use her Decode ability. Rina didn't quite get it, but she knew her Digimon was stronger than others even with the same stats. Ofanimon explained that that was her Decode and why Barbamon targetted her, but it also meant they could use her Digivice as a container to borrow Belphemon's strength. Mirei thought it was too dangerous to set up strategies when they didn't understand why Rina's Digivice was different, though Nico, Yuuya and Akiho pointed out they had no time. Ofanimon ordered Taiga and Rina to go to the Dark Area and the rest to stay behind. After Taiga goes to Stingmon's train, he calls Rina to it, and she's shocked when the train starts flying.
In the Dark Area, Taiga and Rina find Belphemon: Sleep Mode, completely asleep. Lili then shows up and introduces herself as a hero who was summoned to the Digital World, a girl who wants the best partner, and a martial artist who travels the world, then orders Belphemon to wake up and become her Partner Digimon. Realizing she was too quiet, she raises her voice more and more, then runs out of patience and kicks Belphemon's clock. This causes the world to shake and Rina immediately realizes how bad of an idea it was to kick a Demon Lord, though for Lili, it should be a huge honour to get kicked by her. Belphemon then shoots lightning close to Lili, proving Rina's point, though Lili thinks it can't hit her as she's honed her body to the extreme. Belphemon then attacks Taiga and Rina as well, so they send Digimaru and V.V. to fight Belphemon. Rina thought it calmed down after the fight and wanted to take the chance, but Lili insstead went and kicked it again, causing it to awaken as Belphemon: Rage Mode. It only woke up once every thousand years, and considered Lili admirable for accomplishing that feat, so as a reward she'd receive its strongest attack. Lili's confidence then left her as she realized how bad the situation was. Rina pushed Lili out of the way, getting hit by Belphemon's attack instead. Having released its overwhelming power, Belphemon returned to its slumber to maintain the order of the world, so it entered its Sleep Mode once again. Lili didn't intend for this to happen and was now indebted to someone whose name she didn't even know, a debt she intended to repay when her time to die came, though she would be in Heaven and Rina may be in Hell so she'd never get the chance to do so. As she went through this monologue, Rina woke up and then shouted at her to shut up. Lili questioned if Rina was a human or a cockroach if she could survive that, but in reality, Rina's Digivice absorbed Belphemon's power, completing their mission. Rina wanted to go back to the Digitower as they had no time for Lili, an obnoxious little fake princess, then left running. Lili didn't like being called a fake princess as the Rochefort family was one of the most distinguished houses, so she pursued Rina.
The heroes then confronted Lilithmon in the Digitower, where she wondered if they could feel Barbamon's energy field, which she realizes means he's attempting to conquer both worlds, an act they could not allow to happen as it would disrupt the balance of power in the world. She then turned to the humans and asked them if they intended to fight her, which would be a futile battle, so they should allow the Demon Lords to settle the balance of power themselves. Lili then showed up, telling Lilithmon she couldn't speak of such things as long as she was around, leaving Nico and Yuuya confused. Lili then told them she was back as there was no way she'd miss out on this fun and she intended to get her revenge on Taiga. To do so, she decided to assist Lilithmon, who'd become her Partner Digimon as she had none. While Lilithmon found her insolent, she allowed her to do as she pleased because it wouldn't make much a difference. Lilithmon then turned to the Decode ability users, who she intended to kill. However, she was defeated, and only then did she realize they had Belphemon's power. She told them they were foolish, as they had played into Barbamon's hands. Lili was worried for Lilithmon, which she wasn't. She thought even getting her power wouldn't be enough for the humans to win, then perished, with her power going into Rina's Digivice. Said power allowed V.V. to evolve once again into V-dramon, though he was now sparking, since the power was too great for him to hold, which made him run away until he hit a wall, causing both him and the entrance to collapse, though Lili got them a way out through an emergency exit. Said emergency exit led to the 70th floor, where the heroes found Barbamon's torture cells, which angered Rina.
Rina's incapable of fighting Barbamon in the 80th floor, feeling off due to the amount of energy she absorbed. After Beelzebumon is killed by Lucemon: Falldown Mode, Rina wonders if she must absorb his power. Beelzebumon, realizing Rina has Decode, tells her to seek Leviamon in the Dark Area, since with its power they had a chance at defeating Lucemon: Falldown Mode and Barbamon. Beelzebumon then fades away, leaving his power behind, but immediately realizes there's something wrong in the structure of a program and how they played straight into someone's hands. Rina then absorbs his power, which leaves her in great pain. Mirei wonders if the energy became unstable due to how large it suddenly was, but Yuuya focuses on Beelzebumon's words instead. Since it was too dangerous to move Rina, Mirei takes her Digivice and gives it to Taiga, as he should be able to absorb Leviamon's power too as a Decode user. Mirei also advices about letting V.V. evolve with Rina in that state and decides they should wait until Rina recovers to choose if they'll use the Demon Lord energy or not. After Taiga obtains Leviamon's power, Mirei sends him a mail, explaining that Rina's condition keeps getting worse and she can't tell why. Despite that, Rina gets back on her feet once Taiga arrives, though she's still obviously suffering.
With the locks opened by the rest of the team, Taiga and Rina go up to the 100th floor to finally fight Barbamon. After they arrived, Barbamon thanked them for it, then told them to give him the power of the other Demon Lords they collected. Barbamon explained to Rina that it was the app Orgemon gave her that collected the Demon Lord powers. Rina realized she was a fool. which Barbamon agreed with, then added he diverted some of that power through a backdoor to open up a huge distortion, and he'd now infuse the power of the Seven Great Demon Lords into Lucemon and let him loose into the Real World. Rina refused to give him the power, which was in her Digivice. Rina ordered V.V. to fight, even if it meant pushing her body to its limits, because they couldn't allow Barbamon to succeed, so Rina makes V.V. evolve into Ulforce V-dramon. While Barbamon could just take the power, he decides to have some fun first, and wondered how the screams of humans were different from those of Digimon, which he could test on his current enemies. Digimaru and V.V. manage to defeat Barbamon, which surprises him but makes no difference as he starts taking Rina's Demon Lord powers anyways, which it plans to use to turn a fallen angel into a demon - Falldown Mode to Satan Mode. However, before he can give the power to Lucemon, Demon shows up and stops him, mocking him for failing at the last moment. Barbamon is confused as Demon should be sealed in the Dark Area, but Demon had seen through his schemes, even wondering why Barbamon bothered to use the idiotic Orgemon, who was now wandering in the Dark Area as Demon took his application and modified it, so Barbamon only got half of the Demon Lords' powers while the other half flowed into Demon, which let him return to life, even if he wasn't at full strength. Barbamon refused to let his despair and ambition be taken by Demon and ordered him to give them back, only to die. Demon then hijacked Barbamon's plans in full and threw something at Rina which caused V.V. to lose his powers and devolve into V-dramon.
Orgemon then showed up, evolved into Digitamamon and Titamon, and teamed up with Taiga to fight Lucemon: Falldown Mode before he could become Satan Mode. After defeating Lucemon: Falldown Mode, he complained about his pain, then decided to eat Demon to satiate his hunger, taking advantage of his weakness after escaping the Dark Area. Lucemon then killed Demon with a Dead or Alive and absorbed his energy and, now with the power of all the Seven Great Demon Lords, evolved into Lucemon: Satan Mode. However, he still wished for more food and nutrition, which he wanted to take from the weakened Rina. Titamon took Satan Mode's attack to protect Rina. As he faded away, he told Rina about how much he enjoyed their meal together, the only time he's ever felt like he fit in and the only good memory he had, and what allowed him to finally show courage. He asked her to stop Lucemon, for the sake of the Digital World. Rina was angry at his sacrifice and wished she could do something, but her body wouldn't listen to her, so she gave the power she had left to Taiga so he'd save both worlds.
Nico, Akiho, Yuuya and Mirei showed up and congratulated Taiga after defeating Lucemon: Satan Mode and undoing the distortion. Mirei was ready for them to return to their world, but Rina wanted to stay longer, though Nico called her out since she could barely stand. After that, they went to the Railroad Plains, where Professor Petrov had Mirei activate the Re:Digitize Program. Jijimon thanked the humans for saving the world, especially those with Decode. They, except Mirei, then returned to the Real World.
