Wanyamon is one of the protagonists of Hiragana Digimon: A Tale of the Royal Knights.

Profile[edit]

Wanyamon is very playful. He wants to play all the time and doesn't get tired, even if he repeats the same things over and over. He looks up to the Royal Knights and wants to constantly stick with Dynasmon who's one of them, even when Dynasmon tries to get rid of him.

Appearances[edit]

Manga[edit]

Hiragana Digimon: A Tale of the Royal Knights[edit]

Episode 1[edit]

Soccer Ball[edit]

Dynasmon watched a Boogiemon and a Troopmon play football using Wanyamon as a ball.

The Royal Knight of his Dreams[edit]

Wanyamon recognized Dynasmon as a Royal Knight and called him mister, which Dynasmon didn't like as he wasn't that old. Wanyamon thought the Royal Knights were awesome, but Dynasmon glared at him and told him not to come any closer, which made Wanyamon cry. Dynasmon, ashamed, offered him champion chocolate and yummy meat to calm him down.

Ball Lover[edit]

Dynasmon asked Wanyamon why he got involved with Boogiemon and Troopmon. Wanyamon explained he lost control when he saw their football and tried to play with it himself, only for Boogiemon and Troopmon to decide to use him as the ball instead. Dynasmon thought he must really like playing ball.

Dynasmon the Bad Boy[edit]

Wanyamon asked why he couldn't get close to Dynasmon and he explained he was a bad and dangerous Digimon who liked to smoke and speed around on his motorcycle (a Machmon), and to stay up drinking energy drinks, getting messed up and posting anonymous troll messages online. In the former, the noise he made annoyed a Patamon, while in the latter, he insulted Yggdrasill. Wanyamon thought Dynasmon was very cool, like a middle schooler, with Dynasmon getting caught off-guard by the comment.

Playing Pretend[edit]

Dynasmon accepted to play with Wanyamon, who wanted to pretend they were Royal Knights. Wanyamon decided to be Alphamon, while Dynasmon wanted to just be himself, but Wanyamon told him to be Demon of the Seven Great Demon Lords instead and attacked him with a pretend Ouryūken which wounded Dynasmon's pride.

Acorn Loop[edit]

Wanyamon wanted to hunt for acorns, then ants, then roly-polies, each tiring Dynasmon more and more. He then went back to acorns, which made Dynasmon realize they were stuck in a loop which repeated at least eight times.

Limit Break[edit]

Dynasmon got angry at the endless looping and ordered Wanyamon to stop following him around or he'd kick him away. Wanyamon wondered if Dynasmon was good at kicking and Dynasmon showed him by playing with a football. However, when Dynasmon tried to kick the ball, he kicked Wanyamon accidentally instead, shocking him.

At the Bar[edit]

Magnamon told Dynasmon he heard a Wanyamon suddenly fall from the sky in a square not far from where they were. Dynasmon and Wanyamon reunited there, with Wanyamon ready to hunt for Royal Knights, which annoyed Dynasmon as they weren't acorns. Magnamon told Dynasmon to take responsibility and look after Wanyamon and Dynasmon was glad Wanyamon was tougher than he looked as a confused Angemon looked at them.

Episode 2[edit]

Cold Lips[edit]

Wanyamon asked Dynasmon why he smoked. Dynasmon refused to answer, but Wanyamon insisted as he knew it was bad for his health but maybe that was why it was cool. Dynasmon shut him up by forcing chocolate, candy and meat into his mouth.

Rally[edit]

Wanyamon wanted to meet Alphamon but Dynasmon told him it was rare anyone got to see him or even know where he was. Wanyamon then decided he'd be satisfied meeting any regular Royal Knight, though being called "regular" annoyed Dynasmon. Wanyamon wanted to collect all their signatures, which made Dynasmon point out he treated it like a stamp rally.

Omegamon[edit]

Wanyamon and Dynasmon found Omegamon meditating. Dynasmon and Wanyamon prayed to him as he was like a monk, which Omegamon didn't appreciate.

Pilgrimage[edit]

Wanyamon asked Omegamon to sign his rally card. Omegamon thought going all the way to get the signature of a Royal Knight made Wanyamon a fine pilgrim, but Wanyamon didn't know what a pilgrim was and asked Dynasmon, who thought Omegamon even talked exactly like a monk. Meanwhile, Omegamon prepared to sign the card.

A Monk in Training[edit]

Omegamon accepted he was like a trainee monk and stated he always thought his horns were in the way, confusing Dynasmon. He then took his horns off, which shocked Dynasmon and made Wanyamon laugh uncontrollably. Omegamon, with his horns back on, was pleased that he made Wanyamon laugh.

The Edge of Delight[edit]

Wanyamon asked Omegamon to take his horns off again. While Omegamon was fine with it, Dynasmon tried to stop him, as it'd turn into a constant loop as kids like Wanyamon could keep laughing at the same thing over and over again. However, Omegamon thought a child's smile was what was most precious and took his horns off again. As Dynasmon expected, this turned into an endless loop, ended only by Dynasmon begging Omegamon to stop.

JESmon[edit]

Wanyamon and Dynasmon found JESmon talking to Sistermon Blanc and Sistermon Ciel through his computer. Wanyamon asked him what he was doing and JESmon explained he was checking for any abnormalities to prevent a worst case scenario where Yggdrasill malfunctioned. Dynasmon explained JESmon was like cold medicine, which Wanyamon thought was cool but JESmon disliked.

Training[edit]

Wanyamon asked if he could become a Royal Knight but JESmon turned him down, which Dynasmon disagreed with. Wanyamon then jumped off the cloud they were on, which terrified JESmon but Dynasmon knew how sturdy Wanyamon was and thought he'd be fine.

Gankoomon[edit]

JESmon brought Wanyamon to Gankoomon, who was pumping weights, to be his apprentice, but Gankoomon didn't hear him. Wanyamon greeted Gankoomon and JESmon shouted at him to speak louder and insulted him, which caused Gankoomon to send him flying with one uppercut. Gankoomon then praised Wanyamon's greeting while petting him, confusing the hurt JESmon.

Master[edit]

JESmon reminsced about how strict Gankoomon was as a teacher, remembering how he screamed several orders at him while he was hurt as the teacher's anger took the form of Hinukamuy. In the present, however, he was far kinder to Wanyamon, telling the Baby II to take a nap and giving him snacks and a bitcoin as pocket money. Dynasmon thought Gankoomon and Wanyamon were like grandfather and grandson.

Speak Up[edit]

JESmon asked an exhausted Wanyamon what was wrong and the latter answered Gankoomon kept telling him to speak loudly.

Hide and Seek[edit]

Wanyamon and Gankoomon played hide and seek. Wanyamon easily found Gankoomon who was hiding behind a rock due to his Hinukamuy aura. JESmon thought Gankoomon was spoiling Wanyamon.

Master and Disciple Showdown[edit]

When Gankoomon and JESmon started fighting each other, Dynasmon decided to leave alongside Wanyamon, who thought the fight between master and student was cool.

A New Joke[edit]

Omegamon met with Dynasmon and Wanyamon again to show the latter a new joke. For the joke, Omegamon covered himself except his hands under his cape and pretended his hands were War Greymon and Metal Garurumon. "War Greymon" asked "Metal Garurumon" what a Jogress Evolution was and "Metal Garurumon" told "War Greymon" they should do it. Omegamon then took off his cape as the result of said Jogress. However, Dynasmon thought the punchline sucked and Wanyamon showed no response to it, so Omegamon just took his horns off again, which made Wanyamon laugh and Dynasmon cry.

Episode 3[edit]

As Wanyamon looked for pillbugs under a rock, Dynasmon told him to get a move on, as they had to go back to where they came from if Wanyamon wanted to collect the autographs of all of the Royal Knights.

Lord Knightmon[edit]

Dynasmon and Wanyamon found Lord Knightmon exercising on a stationary bicycle. Wanyamon asked him for his autograph but he refused.

Trade for an Autograph[edit]

Wanyamon offered to trade a bag for Lord Knightmon's autograph. Dynasmon explained it was Wanyamon's treasure. However, the bag only contained acorns which were worthless to Lord Knightmon. Wanyamon then gave him a bunch of roly-polies which he hated.

Monster[edit]

An angered Lord Knightmon told Wanyamon to leave as he despised children. Dynasmon asked him for an explanation and he enumerated they were always covered in filth, had no table manners, were quick to cry, and their faces were always dripping with drool and snot, making them the most terrifying creatures in existence. Wanyamon took it as a compliment which made him happy, which Lord Knightmon added as another reason to hate children.

Say Something Sooner[edit]

Wanyamon rode on Lord Knightmon's head and asked him to play with him, which annoyed Lord Knightmon. Wanyamon then realized he had to poop, so Lord Knightmon pushed him off his head, but it was too late as he had already pooped over the Royal Knight's head. Lord Knightmon then offered Wanyamon his autograph in exchange for him finally leaving.

Examon[edit]

Wanyamon saw Examon flying in the sky. However, Dynasmon warned him not to get too close as his mass was so enormous that time slowed down for everything around him. Dynasmon added that was the theory of relativity, but couldn't explain it when Wanyamon asked him to and just offered to do so at another time.

Sleipmon[edit]

Upon seeing Sleipmon, Dynasmon pointed out he had six legs like an insect, which Wanyamon loved to collect. Sleipmon didn't enjoy the comparison, however, and explained he was the guardian of the northern ruins. Dynasmon pointed out he had eight limbs including his arms and thus was more like a spider, which Wanyamon hated so he tried to hit him with bug spray. Once again, Sleipmon was angered by the comparison to an insect.

Speaking of Forests[edit]

Wanyamon asked Sleipmon where the northern ruins were. Sleipmon explained they were deep in the forest, beneath a thick layer of ice, with a sacred secret resting down below according to Yggdrasil. Wanyamon excitedly wondered if that was a holy beetle but Dynasmon rejected the idea. This caused Wanyamon to want to go catch beetles. Dynasmon blamed Sleipmon for awakening Wanyamon's bug-collecting urges, which annoyed Sleipmon.

A Beetle Appears[edit]

After Sleipmon defeated Gran Kuwagamon, Wanyamon wanted to catch Gran Kuwagamon despite how small his net was in comparison, to Dynasmon's confusion.

Bright Idea[edit]

Dynasmon whispered to Gran Kuwagamon another Digimon knew the secret he was searching for. Gran Kuwagamon left to investigate the clue, leaving Wanyamon to wonder where he was going. Dynasmon gave him a telescope and pointed him to Examon, as Gran Kuwagamon was now heavily slowed down thanks to the gigantic Digimon. Dynasmon told Wanyamon to feel free to observe him as he was basically captured now.

Ulforce V-dramon[edit]

Ulforce V-dramon arrived, with full knowledge of Wanyamon's search for the Royal Knights autographs. He then wrote one down and told Wanyamon to ask him for as many as he wanted. Wanyamon was glad Ulforce V-dramon was so nice but Dynasmon couldn't handle him. Ulforce V-dramon asked Dynasmon why he was so worked up and told him not to overthink things and to enjoy life, then told Wanyamon he could join the Royal Knights if he tried, which rubbed Dynasmon the wrong way.

How to Catch a Dragonfly[edit]

As Ulforce V-dramon and Wanyamon danced, Dynasmon wondered how the former could be so carefree yet still have such an unwavering sense of justice. Dynasmon compared Ulforce V-dramon to a dragonfly, which gave him an idea, so he asked Wanyamon if he wanted to try catching a dragonfly, which Wanyamon agreed to do. Dynasmon then sent Ulforce V-dramon to get Examon's autograph, which meant he got caught in Examon's mass as well. Dynasmon then told Wanyamon to observe the "fly" (Gran Kuwagamon) and the "beetle" (Ulforce V-dramon) as much as he wanted, while Wanyamon wondered when they'd get Examon's autograph.
