Digimon Life (デジモン生活, Dejimon Seikatsu) is a video game.
Like the Digimon Reference Book, Digimon Life updated with new Digimon profiles every week, usually on Thursdays, in addition to the profiles it copied from the Reference Book. When profile updates were made available, they were mentioned in form of a Digimon's "eye witness report" (目撃情報), which gave a small, brief description about the Digimon in the new entry. The service was terminated at the end of March 2012. Prior to its termination, there were 596 Digimon pages available on Digimon Life.
Overview[edit]
Digimon Life is a mobile phone game in which players can capture Digimon, read their profiles, and view rare artwork. The base game is free to play, although additional downloadable content is available for purchase.
Gameplay[edit]
The game uses the mobile phone's location services to detect the player's location, time, weather, and season, allowing different Digimon to appear depending on the surrounding environment.
Over 400 Digimon are featured, including national, regional, and local varieties. Captured Digimon can be collected on the player's Farm. Players can then select Digimon from their Farm to form a Digimon Expedition Team. By dispatching this team to remote areas that the player would not normally be able to visit, they can obtain Digimon exclusive to different regions.
Collecting Digimon increases the player's rank. As the player's rank rises, additional features become available, including the Digimon Expedition Team, and new Digimon begin to appear, expanding the range of gameplay.
The Item Shop offers a variety of items for use in both the main game and the Digimon Expedition Team. These include support items that reduce the game's difficulty, as well as items that make it easier to encounter and capture specific Digimon.
Additionally, players can scan the special 2D barcodes ("AR Codes") included with selected Bandai merchandise using their mobile phones to summon exclusive Digimon into the game.
