Digivolving Series

In 1999 and the 2000s, Bandai produced several evolution-themed action figure lines tying into the first five Digimon anime series, aimed at children ages 7 and up, for the Japanese market.
Bandai Spirits revisited the concept of the Super Evolution Series, as well as some of the original models, in the mid-2010s with its Digivolving Spirits toy line for adult collectors.
International markets also received similar toy lines produced by Bandai America and Bandai Asia, which at various times included imports or variants on the original Japanese toys, new toys based on the same Digimon that replaced the Japanese toys, and entirely original toys with no Japanese counterparts at all.
Toy lines[edit]
- The Super Evolution Series 「超進化シリーズ」, produced mainly for Digimon Adventure, Digimon Adventure 02 and Digimon Savers, are transforming figures that can be evolved from one Digimon into another. Some of these figures are branded Deluxe Super Evolution 「ＤＸ超進化」, and are larger than standard figures of the line.
Their international counterpart was the 5'' Digivolving Figures series, some of which were repackagings of the original Super Evolution Series figures. - The Armor Super Evolution Series 「アーマー超進化シリーズ」, produced for Adventure 02, are sets of armor pieces which can be either assembled into a Digimental, or fitted onto a figure of a Child Digimon to assemble an Armor Digimon.
International product lines instead featured a series of single figures who can be transformed from the Armor Digimon to the Digi-Egg (Digimental), which were still just branded "5'' Digivolving Figures." - The Jogress Super Evolution series 「ジョグレス超進化」, produced for Adventure 02, are sets of two figures which are designed to transform by combining together into a single evolved Digimon figure.
International product lines instead featured a series of single figures which can be transformed into any of three Digimon at a time, which were still just branded "5'' Digivolving Figures." - The Hybrid Super Evolution series 「ハイブリッド超進化」, produced for Digimon Tamers, are also transforming figures.
International product lines instead featured a mix of 5'' Digivolving Figures and larger 8'' Warp-Digivolving Figures. - The Spirit Evolution series 「スピリットエボリューション」, produced for Digimon Frontier, are sets of armor pieces which can be fitted onto provided skeletons to assemble either a Hybrid Digimon or its Legendary Spirit. Some sets can be mixed to create additional Digimon.
Their international counterpart was the 8'' Hybrid Digivolving Figures series, which additionally featured pieces to create a DigiDestined (Chosen Child) (not to be confused with the international "5'' Spirit Digivolving Figures" line, which were transforming toys that transformed between a Hybrid Digimon and its Spirit).
