The Digimental of Love (愛情のデジメンタル Aijou no Dejimentaru; Dub: Digi-Egg of Love) is a Digimental that is used to induce Armor Evolution.

Overview[edit]

Design[edit]

Like other Armor Evolution Digimentals, the Digimental of Love is a bulky, vaguely egg-shaped object. It resembles the head armor of two of the Digimon created by using it, Holsmon and Sethmon, including short wing-like protrusions. Its corresponding Crest, the Crest of Love, is inscribed on its surface, in the same place and color as it appears on Holsmon.

Digimon Adventure 02[edit]

The Digimental of Love is one of the first five Digimentals that the Four Holy Beasts chose to provide to a new group of Chosen Children in order to stop the Digimon Kaiser. They had it placed in a Mayan pyramid in the Digital World, together with the Digimental of Knowledge, sealing away Hawkmon with it to be awoken once the intended Chosen Child arrived.^[10]

During their second expedition into the Digital World, Tentomon and Piyomon lead Inoue Miyako, Hida Iori, Izumi Kōshirō and Takenouchi Sora to the pyramid and the Digimentals when they notice their D-3s reacting. Despite being the owner of the Crest of Love, Sora is unable to lift the Digimental of Love, but realizes that Miyako might be able. Miyako successfully takes the Digimental and releases Hawkmon and, following his instructions, uses it to Armor Evolve him into Holsmon.^[5]

Inoue Miyako uses the Digimental of Love to Armor Evolve Hawkmon into Holsmon in the final encounter with Chocomon at Summer Memory.

Digimon Adventure 02: Armor Evolution to the Unknown[edit]

After the Chosen Children's D-Terminals are mixed up by Kido Jo colliding with the group, Hida Iori hurriedly takes Inoue Miyako's D-Terminal and, without knowing whose D-Terminal it is, initiates an Armor Evolution. Because of this, Armadimon uses Miyako's Digimental of Love to Armor Evolve into Pteranomon.^[9]

In the drama CD's omake, Takenouchi Sora uses the Digimental of Love to Armor Evolve Piyomon into Kyukanchoumon.^[9]

Digimon Adventure 02: Tag Tamers[edit]

The Digimental of Love is an obtainable item of the Armor category. Equipping it on a Digimon has three possible effects:

If equipped by a Hawkmon, it teaches Hawkmon the Tempest Wing Armor Evolution technique the next time that a battle is won. After this point, as long as the Digimental is equipped, Hawkmon can use Tempest Wing to briefly Armor Evolve into Holsmon, who performs the technique before immediately reverting back into Hawkmon.
It increases the equipper's resistance to Bubble techniques.
Like any other Digimental, having it equipped on Digimon will, depending on their Digitama line, cause them to evolve into a different Adult, Perfect or Ultimate Digimon than they would have without a Digimental equipped.

The Digimental of Love must be rebuilt by taking three Love Fragments—which can be found in the Black Ship 2 dungeons on Akiyama Ryo's side, and both Ryo and Ichijouji Ken's versions of the Water Cave dungeon—to Centalmon's Digimental Shop. Alternatively, the player may receive it by trading with compatible video and LCD games.

Digimon Adventure 02: D-1 Tamers[edit]

The Digimental of Love is an obtainable item of the Digimental category. Equipping it on a Digimon has two possible effects:

If equipped by a Hawkmon, it grants access to the Tempest Wing Armor Evolution technique in Hawkmon's sixth technique slot. When used, Hawkmon briefly Armor Evolves into Holsmon, who performs Tempest Wing before immediately reverting back into Hawkmon.
Like any other Digimental, having it equipped on Digimon will, depending on their Digitama line, cause them to evolve into a different Adult, Perfect or Ultimate Digimon than they would have without a Digimental equipped.

The Digimental of Love can be purchased from Centalmon's Digimental Shop at any point in the game, or received by trading with compatible video and LCD games.

The Digimental of Love is an unlockable which is separately acquired for one Partner Card. Once it has been acquired, the player is given the option to, when playing the following Partner Card, use the Digimental to Armor Evolve it free of charge:

Falcomon: Pteranomon
Other evolution unlock requirements: Peckmon has been unlocked; Defense is 250 or higher; Level is 21 or higher; number of defeated Metal Empire Digimon is 10 or higher; highest damage inflicted is 600 or higher

It is found in a chest on the second floor of Sea Precipice Jerapilus.

Digimon Story: Sunburst & Moonlight[edit]

The Digimental of Love is a key item. Having it is one of the evolution requirements to perform the following Armor Evolutions in in the Special Evolution menu of the DigiLab:

Wormmon → Owlmon
Other evolution requirements: Level is 21 or higher; Spirit is 110 or higher
Patamon → Pipismon
Other evolution requirements: Level is 21 or higher; Speed is 100 or higher

It is not consumed in the evolution, so these Digimon can be evolved into any number of times.

This Digimental is a reward for clearing the Union Headquarters quest Investigate Limit Valley 「リミットバレーをちょうさ」 (Dub: Explore Limit Valley).

The Digimental of Love is a collectible item that the player uses in battle to Armor Evolve their Digimon. All six playable Digimon are capable of using it:

To obtain the Digimental of Love, the player must first collect three fragments of it via the Search function. Its fragments are available in the following Areas:^[11]

D-3 Version 1: Areas 1 and 3
D-3 Version 2: Area 3
D-3 Version 3: Areas 1 and 3

Alternatively, the player may receive it via trade with compatible games and devices.

D-Terminal[edit]

Digimentals of Love may be created through the fusion of the following combinations of either Digimon from the Reference Book, or other Digimentals:^[12]

Digimentals of Love may be traded with compatible games and devices.

D-3 Digivice (International)[edit]

The Digi-Egg (Digimental) of Love is a collectible item that is used in battle to Armor Digivolve (Armor Evolve) Hawkmon into Halsemon (Holsmon). Unlike the Japanese D-3 line, none of the other playable Digimon may use it.

Using the Digi-Egg of Love does not incur a D-Power point cost and can be done without limitation, but if used, there is a small chance that it may break after a battle, regardless of its outcome, requiring it to be re-obtained.

It is obtained by random chance in "Get Digi-Eggs" map events.
