Digimon Fusion Collectible Card Game
Digimon Fusion Collectible Card Game (N/A, ') is a trading card game released around the same time as the Digimon Fusion anime. The game reused some artwork and concepts from Digimon Xros Wars Super Digica Taisen.
Gameplay[edit]
Each player uses a 30-card deck composed of Digimon Cards and DigiMemory Cards, along with a separate Code Crown Deck containing five Code Crown Cards. No more than three copies of the same card may be included in a deck. The objective of the game is to collect all five Code Crowns before the opponent.
At the beginning of the game, both players shuffle their Code Crown Decks and place them face down in the Code Crown Deck Area before shuffling their main decks. The top card of the Code Crown Deck is then placed face up in the Active Code Crown Area. The first player is determined using a game of rock–paper–scissors, with priority alternating between players at the beginning of each new turn.
Gameplay is divided into eight phases, with both players performing their actions simultaneously during each phase:
- Gate Phase: The player with priority reveals the top card of their Code Crown Deck and places it face up in the Active Code Crown Area.
- Draw Phase: Players draw until they have five cards in their hand. If they have more than five cards, they discard until only five remain.
- Set Phase: Each player places one card from their hand face down in the Battle Area.
- Summon Phase: Both players reveal their set card simultaneously. If a Digimon Card is revealed, its summon cost is paid by moving the required number of cards from the hand and/or Training Area to the Discard Area. If both players reveal Digimon, the one with the lower power is immediately discarded; if both have equal power, the player with priority chooses who resolves first. Revealing a non-Digimon Card results in an automatic loss of the battle unless both players reveal non-Digimon Cards, in which case the Battle Phase is skipped.
- Fusion Phase: Players may evolve their active Digimon into a stronger one by paying its Fusion Cost. Fusion can only be performed if the Digimon in hand belongs to the same Team as the Digimon already in play. Cards with the Fusion-specific effect may also activate at this time.
- Boost Phase: Players may attach a Digimon Card beneath their active Digimon as a Boost by paying its Boost Cost. The Digimon's Power and Boost values are combined for the upcoming battle.
- Battle Phase: The Final Power of each Digimon is calculated by combining its Power and any Boost value. The Digimon with the higher Final Power wins the battle. The losing Digimon and any attached Boost are moved to the Discard Area, while the winner also discards its Boost. The victorious player claims the face-up Code Crown by moving it to their Won Code Crowns Area, after which a new Code Crown is revealed.
- End Phase: The first player to collect all five Code Crown Cards wins the game. If neither player has collected all five, a new turn begins with priority passing to the player who did not have it during the previous turn.
Digimon are summoned by paying their Summon Cost, while stronger Digimon require an additional Fusion Cost to evolve from an existing Digimon. Some Digimon possess Fusion effects that activate after successfully fusing, while others have Fusion-specific effects that only function when played via Fusion. DigiMemory Cards provide one-time support effects before being discarded.
Each Code Crown Card represents a Zone of the Digital World and grants a continuous or conditional effect while it remains in the Active Code Crown Area. Some effects only activate if the Active Code Crown belongs to a specific Zone.
The game also supports optional Toy Cards, which introduce additional random effects. At the beginning of each turn after the first, both players reveal the top card of a separate Toy Card Deck. Depending on the symbol shown, both players either move the top card of their deck to the Training Area, recover a card from the Discard Area to their hand, discard a card from their hand, or draw a card.
