Profile Name & Etymology Debut Design & Analysis ⇨ Japanese An Ultimate Digimon known as the God of Wind, it is an embodiment of the wind data that flows in the Digital World. It primarily operates in forest regions, and uses the wind to carry warm air, ripening the fruits of the trees, and protects not only Digimon but also the environment itself. Zephagamon's Digicore, the source of its power, is situated beneath the wings on its chest, and is constantly protected by whirling winds. In addition, it is said that, in the event of an emergency, it prevents disasters by expelling energy directly from the atmosphere through its exposed Digicore. The wind Zephagamon surrounds itself with and unleashes has magical properties, and it is considered one of the heroes of the Vortex Warriors. Its Special Moves are transforming each of the swords in its hands into boomerangs, and unleashing a slashing attack enveloped in a tornado (Gale Braver), and transforming its wings into wind energy forms and bisecting the enemy as it passes by them (Anemoi Embrace). Finally, its "Divine Tempest", in which it expands the wings on its chest and releases the maximum amount of wind energy from its Digicore, sends enemies flying off into the distance, scraping the earth away. The same red swirl motif seen on Shoto’s hair during climactic moments of the series is also featured on Zephagamon's wings, as well as on Vortexdramon's helmet. Beneath the wings on Zephagamon’s chest is its Digicore, which features the Baluluna symbol, the symbol of wind sorcery used in Witchelny and by the Vortex Warriors. On Vortexdramon’s black horn is an unknown text with letters that resemble English letters, reading "BALULUNA", linking it further to Zephagamon. Zephagamon's alternate form was originally exclusive to Blast Evolution in Digimon Liberator, having originated as a design in its ACE card. Zephagamon's wing "shells" break, revealing transparent wings tipped with multi-color lights or gems, and Zephagamon's armor gains golden accents and golden wings. The wing tip colors are also visible in parts of Vortexdramon's design. The shift between Zephagamon and "Zephagamon ACE" resembles an egg cracking open, a motif also seen in Pteromon's Baby I stage, Yolkmon, and reflected in Shoto as [BT20-101 Zephagamon ACE] is the result of Shoto using his Unique Emblem to perform an Alter Ride for the first time. The Baluluna symbol on Zephagamon’s Digicore is fully revealed at all times in this state. In the Digimon Card Game, this state of Zephagamon is depicted in silhouette in the special alternate art of [BT3-103 The Revelation of Hidden Power!!] released with BT-25 Dual Revolution, commemorating the impact of six powerful restricted cards on the metagame. This state was also later featured on the DUAL card [LM-066 Zephagamon/Divine Tempest Ligero].
