Archnemon created an Okuwamon from 10 Dark Towers in "Jogress Evolution, Two Hearts become One" and sent it against the Chosen Children. It was a hard opponent for them, being a Perfect-level, but it was ultimately defeated after XV-mon and Stingmon Jogress Evolved for the first time into Paildramon.

In "X-Evolution", in the Versandi Terminal of the New Digital World, Doumoto Kouta and DORUmon escaped from Okuwamon. Kouta threw his cape at Okuwamon, then activated the X-Cast and XAI System of his Digimon Pendulum X so DORUmon could shoot a strengthened Metal Cannon at Okuwamon. However, it didn't hurt the Perfect, who countered with Scissors Arms Omega, knocking DORUmon down while pointing out the Child had given it a hard time. Kouta and DORUmon worried for each other as Okuwamon got closer to them. It then realized that the red light and XAI System meant DORUmon had the X-Antibody, and therefore, it could get it by killing him. Kouta refused to give up the X-Antibody and put himself between the Digimon, vowing to protect DORUmon. Okuwamon just attacked Kouta, considering him powerless, but it was blocked by the sudden appearance of War Greymon (X-Antibody), who couldn't ignore a young child being attacked. Okuwamon was shocked the Ultimate had gotten the X-Antibody but demanded him not to get in its way as it also wanted the X-Antibody. War Greymon proclaimed that Digimon like Okuwamon should never obtain the new power and that Kouta needed it.

Okuwamon is a random enemy and playable Kemonogami which can only be obtained as a Free Kemonogami. It's an Attack-type, Wrathful (Virus)-attribute, Perfect-level Kemonogami. Its unnamed Attack is a tackle (135 power, 0 SP, deals Wind damage to target) and its special attack is Scissor Arms Ω (200 power, 45 SP, deals Wind physical damage to target that ignores target's stat boosts). Its Passive Skill is Onslaught (Raises damage dealt by Water attacks two ranks and Water resistance one rank. Less likely to get frozen). Marin Devimon evolves from Kabuterimon and Kuwagamon and can evolve to Gran Kuwagamon and Herakle Kabuterimon by using Ultimate Enlightenment Slabs.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger

After arriving in Gear Forest in "The World Tree's Cry", Yuki Dan/Yuki Kanan, Misono Inori and Aegiomon saw a group of Titans consisting of an Okuwamon and its Kuwagamon followers go into the forest.

After reaching the Sanctuary, the Agent's party found a swarm of Titan Kuwagamon and Okuwamon injecting something into the World Tree.

Okuwamon is the boss of "The World Tree's Cry". Other than normal attacks, it can use Needle Plant II, Lightning Claw II and Scissor Arms Ω. At low health, it will use Double Actions and can use Character Reversal on itself. It starts the battle flanked by two Kuwagamon, if they're defeated, they'll be replaced by a random Digimon of the following: Snimon, Sunflowmon or Flymon. The battle ends instantly if Okuwamon is defeated.

Okuwamon has the same affinities as its playable counterpart. Unlike most bosses, it is also affected by instant death.

It survived this confrontation and escaped with the Energy Vein successfully damaged, allowing the Titans to enter the Guardian Palace. A conversation with an NPC Atlur Kabuterimon in the main settlement indicates that it was once a normal Digimon in the Gear Forest that joined the Titans on its own volition. BT26-042 and 047 implies that it is the same Tyrant Kabuterimon that invaded the Gear Forest in the present day.

Okuwamon is also an obtainable Digimon. It can be scanned in the Guardian Palace and Higashi-Shinjuku during the Digimon attack. It evolves from Stingmon, Kuwagamon, Flymon, or Snimon, and can evolve into Tyrant Kabuterimon, Herakle Kabuterimon, or Gran Kuwagamon.
