He first appears in the past as a silhouette during the ancient war and appears again in "Operation Satellite Sniper" as a figure superimposed on that of Atlur Kabuterimon. It is in this form that he hijacks the fall of the satellite by destroying the data corrupted by Zurumon.
Tentomon finally fully takes this form in "Bolt, Herakle Kabuterimon", after Koshiro realized that their friendship is knowledge, which also caused his Digivice: to project the Crest of Knowledge. In this form, he was able to easily defeat Gran Kuwagamon and Nanomon, releasing the latter from the Soundbirdmons' control.

Herakle Kabuterimon is Izumi Koshiro's Partner Digimon.
After the Chosen Children returned to Subspace from the sea of data in Episode 62, "The Final Dark Digimon", they were taken by a strange light into a new area with six coloured doors, and a seventh door between them with a chain of each colour. Behind the red door, the Chosen Children found Mugendramon. Koshiro asked Yagami Taichi to leave it to him and Tentomon as they would not lose to any kind of Machine Digimon. Koshiro's Knowledge flowed into Tentomon's heart, letting him warp evolve into Herakle Kabuterimon for the first time.
Afterwards, he can evolve in-battle by paying 30 SP from Tentomon, 25 SP from Kabuterimon, or 15 SP from Atlur Kabuterimon, or start the battle as such by equipping the EVO Boost III DigiPiece. Herakle Kabuterimon's attacks are:

- High Mega Blaster: deals damage to all enemies. Costs 32 SP.
- Horn Buster Kai: deals damage to one enemy with a good chance of Shock. Costs 8 SP.
