A Plant Digimon with the appearance of a large, withered tree. It usually disguises itself as an ordinary tree, and lives by grabbing Digimon that pass by and draining their energy. In addition, it is able to move about using its root-like feet. It has a frenzied personality, and never stops attacking once it is angered. Although its defense is high due to its hard trunk, it is vulnerable to fire, and is very poor against Flame-species Digimon like Meramon and Birdramon, which it regards as enemies. Its Special Move is extending its branch-shaped arms and stabbing the enemy, completely draining them of their energy (Branch Drain).

Digimon Adventure:[edit]

Some Woodmon, along with a group of Budmon and a Lopmon are inhabitants of a jungle that is attacked by Tankdramon and two groups of Allomon and Megadramon in "Escape the Burning Jungle". They were saved by Taichi, Metal Greymon: Alterous Mode, Sora and Garudamon.

After Negamon was finally defeated in "The End of the Adventure", Lopmon, on top of a Jyureimon, with both the red and his grey Komondomon sleeping behind them, told a group of Budmon and Woodmon how the world where humans live was beyond the sky, past the Network, and that was where the Chosen Children came from. Woodmon then asked if it was to protect them, but Leomon, who was with a Bearmon, several yellow and a rare Pickmon, and two Yukimi Botamon, thought that they came to the Digital World to become their friends. One of the Yukimi Botamon was confused about this, and Leomon clarified that they fought in order to protect their friends, which made the Yukimi Botamon want to go to the Real World. The Yukimi Botamon then asked Leomon what happened to the Chosen Children after that, and Leomon answered that they finished their mission and returned to the Real World, and would no longer go back to the Digital World, though he corrected himself on that since it may happen after all.

Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode[edit]

After Taiga gives a Budmon a Digimushroom in the Village of Beginnings so that it could get enough energy to evolve and visit its Grandfather in the Ancient Bone Swamp, it eats it and warp evolves to Woodmon. It then asks Taiga if it can drain his partner Digimon of energy as it was still hungry, and after doing so leaves to visit its Grandfather — excited that it is now strong enough to go wherever it wants. Sadly, by the time it arrived at the Swamp, said grandfather, Jyureimon, had already passed away. It crowned Jyureimon's Observatory as his memorial place and vowed to make it famous so everyone would remember Jyureimon forever. Days later, to help the place, it opened two shops: a vegetable course and a cleansing and refreshing mud aesthetics course, which Digimaru could take once a day.

Woodmon evolves from Palmon, Wormmon, Lalamon, and Renamon, and can evolve to Jyureimon, Lilamon, and Taomon.
