---|---|
The episode opens with the Chosen Children on top of a ridge. Taichi wonders why only Agumon evolved on the beach to fight Shellmon, and then asks Agumon why he reverted back to his Agumon form. Agumon says he doesn’t know, but the conversation is cut short by a loud roar.
Tentomon identifies the approaching Digimon as Monochromon, and says he’s usually not aggressive. This comforts everyone briefly, but the Monochromon keeps coming towards them, looking angry. They turn to see another Monochromon behind them, and run off the path to escape. From behind a rock, they see the two large Digimon fighting, and wonder why. Tentomon says it must be over territory. Palmon shouts for everyone to run, and bolts. Everyone follows her, and Takeru trips. Yamato quickly drops to his knee to help him, but Takeru gets up, says he’s fine, and keeps running. A short while later, the group is walking through a forest. Mimi says she’s tired, and stops to lean against a tree. Taichi tells her to keep going, and she complains that her legs will get fat. Agumon says that fat legs are better, and Mimi disagrees. Palmon claims that her feet, resembling plant roots, are much better. Mimi says she doesn’t like those either. Sora and Koshiro are commenting on the strange color of the sunset. Koshiro says it won’t be safe to travel farther when it gets dark. Tentomon suddenly jumps into the air, saying he smells something. He finds a large lake of fresh water, and says they should camp over there. Mimi happily agrees, saying she can’t walk anymore. Gomamon starts to run towards the lake, and Jo grabs his tail, pulling him to make him wait for everyone else. Yamato, near where Takeru is sitting, exhausted, agrees that they’ve walked far enough today. Taichi and Jo also think that they should camp at the lake. The children are looking at the lake, happy to see how nice it is. Mimi realized that ‘camping’ entails sleeping outside, and is unhappy about the prospect. As they are talking, a ringing noise echoes out, and they see a trolley car on an island in the middle of the lake. The car’s lights turn on, and the kids wonder why it’s there, without any tracks. Sora suggests that someone might be inside, and everyone runs across a land bridge to the island, but no one is inside the car. Once inside, Koshiro begins to inspect the car, noting that it seems fairly new. Mimi happily bounces on a cushion, proclaiming how soft they are. Jo wonders if the trolley will move by itself, and Taichi says of course not. Sora, relieved, says the car will make a good place to sleep. Tentomon says that they should get food first. Koshiro is fishing, and calls for Gomamon to stop swimming right there so he can catch something. Tentomon finds berries, and Jo and Sora gather some firewood. Patamon uses Air Shot to knock down some banana-looking fruit, which falls to be run through by Gabumon’s horn. Piyomon laughs at Patamon’s eagerness to use his power, saying he doesn’t need it for finding food. Palmon shows Mimi which mushrooms are safe to eat and which are poisonous. Sora, Yamato and Taichi wonder how to light their cooking fire. Agumon runs up and ignites a roaring blaze with his Baby Flame. Koshiro and Takeru come over, happily saying that they’ve caught lots of fish. Yamato tells Takeru he did well, making the younger boy smile happily. Yamato then corrects Taichi’s cooking method, saying he needs to cook the fish away from the flames. As the group is eating dinner, Yamato asks Takeru if he needs to have the bones of his fish removed, and Taichi then chimes in, telling Takeru to “just bite through the head and keep going”. Takeru then attacks his fish, Yamato watching him with a slight frown. Taichi asks Sora about Takeru calling Yamato Onii-chan, even though their last names are different. She says she doesn’t know why he does that. Jo walks up, and says he can’t see the North Star anywhere. Sora agrees, saying none of the stars are familiar. Taichi mentions that they could be on the other side of the earth, but Jo says the Southern Cross isn’t in the sky either. Everyone in the group begins yawning, and Taichi says it’s about time for bed. Koshiro suggests that they set a watch, and Jo says they need to pick an order. Taichi says they can leave the girls out of it, and Yamato says that Takeru shouldn’t do it either. Takeru says he can, and Yamato tells him not to worry about it and just to sleep. Mimi complains that there’s no bedding to sleep in, and then Taichi starts to tease Gabumon about using his fur coat as a blanket, saying he wants to see what Gabumon looks like under it. He tugs on the fur, and Gabumon says anything but that, running away from Taichi. Taichi laughs, but Yamato quickly knocks him backwards, angry because Gabumon is uncomfortable. They start to argue, and it quickly escalates to physical threats. Takeru calls for them to stop, and they step back, turning around to look away from each other. Jo steps up, awkwardly asking who the first watch should be. Taichi quickly volunteers, and Yamato says he will be second. Jo says he will be third and Koshiro last. The people in the trolly settle down for bed, and Yamato tells Gabumon to go sit by Takeru. When the Digimon asks why, Yamato says he’s sweating because of the fur. Gabumon sees that Yamato wants to keep Takeru warm, and says so. Yamato insists that’s not what he said, and Gabumon calls him shy, to which Yamato says “look who’s talking”. When Gabumon settles near Takeru, the boy looks around and sees Yamato, who blushes and looks away. Taichi groans about how tired he is, and goes to the lake to wash his face. He sees Yamato, and tells him it’s too early to switch. Yamato says he couldn’t sleep, and that he’s sorry for earlier. Taichi says he is too, and Yamato says he’s always like this, and that’s why Takeru seems more attached to Taichi (from his perspective). Taichi asks what Takeru is to Yamato, and Yamato says that they’re brothers from divorced parents, and now live separately. Yamato runs off the island, ending up sitting on the shore of the lake playing a harmonica. Gabumon comes out to join his partner, complimenting the music. Taichi pokes the fire, and an ember pops sharply, throwing a bit of burning coal onto the ground. It lands on a large red thing that looks a bit like a giant leaf. Suddenly the water erupts, and Seadramon emerges. Everyone is very startled. Seadramon begins to drag the island through the lake, disconnecting it with the land, leaving Yamato and Gabumon on the shore. Tentomon says Seadramon wouldn't attack unless he was threatened, and Taichi and Agumon insist that they didn’t do anything. Then the large red leaf on the ground moves, and is revealed to be the tip of Seadramon’s tail. The massive Digimon angrily smashes against the island. Yamato calls for Takeru, and then leaps into the water, swimming for the island. Gabumon follows. Seadramon stops moving the island, but it’s now in the middle of the lake and there’s no way to escape. The partner Digimon use their attacks, but aren't strong enough to harm Seadramon. Taichi tells Agumon to evolve again, but he says he can’t. He and Taichi bicker briefly before everyone hears Yamato call again. Yamato is almost to the island, and Takeru runs to the edge. Seadramon rattles the island again, and Takeru falls into the water. Gomamon quickly dives in and gets under him (Takeru can’t swim well). Yamato tells Gomamon to take care of Takeru, and then swims off, distracting Seadramon, so they have enough time to get back to the island. Gabumon hits Seadramon with Petit Fire and Seadramon flicks his tail, sending Gaubmon flying. Immediately after, Yamato is dragged under the water. Takeru fearfully says that this is all his fault, because he fell in. Seadramon lifts his tail above the water, revealing that it’s now tightly looped around Yamato, intended to crush him. Takeru begs Patamon to help, but he says he’s not strong enough. He says Gabumon is stronger, but the other Digimon doesn't have the power either. Yamato starts to scream, and Gabumon stares in horror, shouting his partner's name. Yamato’s Digivice flashes, and Gabumon evolves into Garurumon. Garurumon leaps for Seadramon, breaking his hold on Yamato, who falls into the water. He swims back to the island safely. Garurumon and Seadramon fight, Seadramon using his finishing attack Ice Arrow, causing a thick layer of ice to form on Garurumon. Everyone is worried, but Garurumon breaks the hold and uses Fox Fire to beat Seadramon, before changing back into Gabumon. Gabumon swims back to the island. Yamato teasingly asks why he didn’t just evolve in the first place, as Takeru runs to Gabumon. Takeru thanks Gabumon for saving them, and he responds shyly. Takeru then turns to his older brother, thanking him as well. Yamato immediately says it was nothing, blushing and looking away. Gabumon calls him shy again, and Yamato replies “look who’s talking”. Everyone laughs, and Gomamon uses Marching Fishes to move the island back to land. On the shore, Koshiro wonders why only Gabumon could evolve this time. Sora suggests that it’s because their partners were in danger. Taichi remembers Agumon's evolution, and believes this is correct. Due to their long night, everyone begins to fall asleep as the sun rises. Taichi sees Yamato playing his harmonica again, this time with Takeru and their partners next to him sleeping. |

- The Saban dub adds a sound effect of water splashing when the Monochromon fall off the cliff.
- All of the talk about Mimi having "fat legs" is removed from the Saban dub.
- The Saban dub does not mention the Southern Cross, presumably because of its religious connotations.
- Futons are referred to as "warm blankets".
- This is the episode where the Saban dub makes the inaccurate claim that Yamato and Takeru are “half-brothers”.
- The Saban dub adds a line from Taichi insulting Gabumon for finding the harmonica music soothing.
- Seadramon's analyzer screen description is missing from the Saban dub.
- Several lines are added by Saban about how Gabumon's fur smells bad when it gets wet.
- Tentomon's explanation that Garurumon's fur is made of the mythical metal, mythril, is not carried over to the Saban dub.
- Gomamon's Marching Fishes attack is referred to as "Fish Power".
