D-Slinger

From Wikimon

D-Slinger (Dスリンガー, D-Suringā), also known as D-Suri (Dスリ), was one of the competition formats used in official Digital Monster Card Game tournaments. It was a league-style format unique to the the game, in which players competed to achieve the longest winning streak.

It consisted of 1-on-1, sudden-death matches. Challengers queued to face the current winners, who remained at their tables after each victory, while defeated players left their tables and rejoined the queue to challenge another winner. This cycle continued until the event concluded, with players competing to achieve the longest winning streak. Promotional cards were awarded based on the number of consecutive victories a player achieved.

D-Athlon (ディーアスロン, Dīasuron) was a special edition of D-Slinger held at Jump Festa 2011. In this competition, participants battled using Digimon Xros Loaders instead of playing card duels.

The prize awarded to the player with the longest winning streak was a black Digimon Xros Loader, the only one ever produced.

It is known that Sp-16 was awarded to the player with the highest number of wins in the 2002 D-Slinger event.
