Digimon Xros Arena (デジモンクロスアリーナ, Dejimon Kurosu Arīna) is a video game.
Overview[edit]
The Digimon Xros Arena, stylized as Digimon X Arena, is a home console battle machine that uses Augmented Reality (AR) technology and is compatible with the Digimon Xros Loader. It is the home version of the Digimon X Arena arcade game.
The console uses a built-in camera to track the movements of the included AR Battle Plates, which act as the game's controllers. It supports both single-player gameplay and local two-player battles.
Gameplay[edit]
The game takes place in the Digimon Xros Tower, where players summon and raise Digimon while completing Battle Quests. Players interact with the game by physically moving their hands over the AR Battle Plates within the camera's detection area. Their position and movements are used to navigate menus, play minigames, and perform actions during battles. Two players can play together using the included pair of Battle Plates.
The game includes over 200 Digimon, more than 50 of which can be used in battle. Playable Digimon gain experience through gameplay, increasing their battle capabilities as they are raised. Digimon that cannot be used as playable combatants are instead registered as Digimon Medals when obtained through gameplay or by scanning codes. Digimon Xros Tower[edit]
The Xros Tower is divided into several areas:
- 1F – Entrance: Summon Digimon and begin Battle Quests.
- 2F – Item Center: Scan QR Codes and AR Codes to obtain Digimon and items.
- 3F – Game Center: Play minigames to earn items and take commemorative photos with Digimon.
- 4F – Data Center: View information about collected Digimon.
- 5F – X Arena: Battle against another player using raised Digimon.
- 6F–15F – Battle Quest: Complete over 50 quests while progressing through the tower.
- Top Floor: Unlock the tower's final Digimon boss.
The Game Center contains several minigames in which the Battle Plates are used as motion-tracked controllers. Items obtained through these minigames can be used elsewhere in the game.
Battle Quest[edit]
Battle Quest is the main single-player mode. The player completes quests and battles while ascending from the sixth to the fifteenth floor of the Digimon Xros Tower.
The game contains over 50 Battle Quests. Completing quests allows the player to progress through the tower and eventually unlock its final boss on the top floor.
X Arena[edit]
The X Arena is a local two-player battle mode in which two players fight using Digimon they have raised. Each player controls the game using one of the two included AR Battle Plates.
Connectivity[edit]
The Digimon Xros Arena is compatible with the Digimon Xros Loader and supports QR Codes and AR Codes.
Digimon Xros Loader[edit]
The console can communicate with the Digimon Xros Loader through infrared communication. Digimon raised on the Xros Loader can be transferred and summoned into the game.
Transferred Digimon are registered by the console and can be used in compatible game modes.
QR Codes and AR Codes[edit]
The console's built-in camera can scan QR Codes and AR Codes to unlock Digimon and items.
QR Codes printed on the reverse of Digimon Xros Archive and Super Digica Taisen cards can be used to obtain additional content.
Design[edit]
The set includes the console unit, a console stand, two AR Battle Plates (controllers), one red and one green, an AV cable, and an instruction manual.
