For the home console game of the same name, see Digimon X Arena Console.

The Digimon Xros Arena 「デジモンクロスアリーナ Dejimon Kurosu Arīna」, stylized as Digimon X Arena, was a free-to-play battle machine available since August 2010, which can be used along with the Digimon Xros Loader. The player can also summon certain Digimon by scanning the QR code available on the back of the cards from Digimon Xros Wars Super Digica Taisen.

It is worth mentioning that the stores that had installed one of the Xros Arena machines, are not necessarily the same ones used to feature the Super Digica Taisen arcade machines, so some stores only had one or the other.

On February 26, 2011, Digimon Xros Arena was also released as a home game console.

Design[edit]

The Digimon X Arena comes equipped with an 18-inch color monitor and also adapts AR (Artificial Reality) technology, to which special AR Code Cards containing Digimon on them can be used. The AR code may have a web address stored on it leading to a website with an official Bandai illustration of the Digimon on the page, for example the Shoutmon AR Code Card (left)[1]. It connects to the Digimon Xros Loader via infra-red, so you can communicate with the Digimon you have raised and battle with others for free. In addition, since you can connect to the Xros Arena, you can also obtain new Digimon on the Digimon Xros Loader.

Gameplay[edit]

Digimon are summoned to the monitor by scanning the AR code from the camera on the console, and the player controls the Digimon on the screen by moving the battle plate. You can attack (rub the plate), defend (do not move the plate), and evade (lower the plate), and you win by reducing your opponent's HP to zero before the time is up.

AR Code[edit]

AR Code Card design

In the Digimon Xros Wars series, this refers to the special QR codes found on cards and on the DigiMemory that come with related products.

If you don't have an AR code, you can wait until the time limit has passed or you can use the AR code on the back of the battle plate. The camera's resolution is not high enough to recognize the AR code unless it is properly placed within the frame of the screen.
