Folder Continent (フォルダ大陸 Foruda Tairiku) is a continent more than twice the size of File Island in the Digital World.

Overview[edit]

The inhabitants of Folder Continent are organized into various Fields, as covered in the Folder Continent Report. As detailed in their Digimon Reference Book entries, certain Digimon who are identified as native to Folder Continent, such as Metal Greymon and Whamon Perfect, are noted to differ from their File Island counterparts (Metal Greymon (Virus) and Whamon) due to the difference in ecosystems.^[1]^[2] Per Digimon Life, the Greymon that inhabit Folder Continent don't have frenzied personalities, and because of their great intellect they are able to use fighting styles that rely on cooperation with their comrades unlike those of File Island.

Development[edit]

Early material occasionally referred to the Folder Continent as Folder Island (フォルダ島, Foruda Shima), suggesting that it was originally conceived as an island similar to File Island.

The Fields represented through Pendulum 1.0/1.5 NSp, 2.0/2.5 DS, 3.0/3.5 NSo, 4.0/4.5 WG, and 5.0/5.5 ME represent habitats of Folder Continent.

Digimon Xros Loader[edit]

The Digital World in which the Digimon Xros Loader is modeled after the traditional depiction of the Folder Continent and its different areas, which happens to explain why several Zones are named after certain Fields.

Digimon Pendulum Ver.20th[edit]

The Digimon Pendulum Ver.20th represents the same Fields of the original Digimon Pendulum, just with new Digimon to raise on the device.

The Digimon Pendulum Z devices (Pendulum Z NSp, Z DS, Z NSo, Z WG, Z ME, and Z VB) all feature habitats or locations of Folder Continent through Fields, much like the original Digimon Pendulum.

Digimon Pendulum COLOR[edit]

The first six Pendulum COLOR devices (Pendulum COLOR 1 NSp, COLOR 2 DS, COLOR 3 NSo, COLOR 4 WG, COLOR 5 ME, and COLOR ZERO VB) all feature habitats or locations of Folder Continent through Fields, much like the original Digimon Pendulum. The locations of Folder Continent are represented with Maps, background that can be used on each device.
