Profile[edit]
Takeru is the younger brother of Ishida Yamato, a fellow Chosen Child. He is a cheerful and optimistic person who is polite and friendly to everyone. However, he seems to develop a grudge towards evil. Takeru was too young to remember his parents' divorce clearly, so he is not as affected by it as much as Yamato is. He is partnered with Patamon and is the bearer of the trait of Hope.
Both of Takeru's parents work in the media; his father, Ishida Hiroaki, is a worker at the Fuji TV Network, and his mother, Takaishi Natsuko, is a journalist.

Prelude to Digimon Adventure[edit]
Before Takeru's parents divorced, he lived with them and Ishida Yamato in Hikarigaoka. In 1995, he and his older brother witnessed the fight between Greymon and Parrotmon.
Takeru's parents divorced shortly after the fight, which was attributed to a terrorist bombing. On Yamato's request, his father took him while his mother took Takeru. Takeru moved with his mother to the Sangenjaya district of Setagaya.
Digimon Adventure[edit]
Though Takeru wasn't a student in Yamato's school, it was arranged for him to come to summer camp with his older brother. They didn't even get to spend a single day together in camp before being thrust into the Digital World and becoming Chosen Children.
As the youngest of the group, Takeru was like a little brother to all the Chosen; though Yamato was the one most protective over him, the other Chosen also protected and helped him in every way they could. Though he was protected, he faced as many dire situations as the others, turning him into a more mature person.
One of the events that affected Takeru the most was the battle against Devimon. Devimon managed to defeat everyone's Digimon and was after Takeru and Patamon, who had yet to evolve at this point. Takeru's distress caused Patamon to evolve to Angemon, who was forced to sacrifice himself to bring Devimon down. Though he turned into a Digitama and was reborn soon enough, Takeru was deeply affected by this, and had developed a desire to purge all evil ever since.
Before having to return to the Digital World to fight the Dark Masters, Takeru got to be with his father, mother, and brother together, just like they were before the divorce. Though the atmosphere was tense, he didn't realize it and was glad to see his family whole again, if only for a minute. This meeting left many resentments in his brother's heart. Upon returning to the Digital World, Yamato became angry when he thought Takeru no longer needed him and decided to leave the group for a while. However, he returned after sorting his feelings, to Takeru's delight.
In the battle against Piemon, Takeru was left alone with Yagami Hikari and Patamon after Piemon turned everyone into keychains. However, Gomamon stole one of the keychains and threw it to Takeru before turning into a keychain himself; it was Yamato's keychain. Knowing that Yamato was with him encouraged Takeru and filled him with hope, which made Angemon evolve into Holy Angemon and become the key to defeating Piemon and saving the other Chosen Children.
Digimon Adventure: Our War Game![edit]
On March 2000, Takeru was with Yamato visiting their grandmother out in the country. Yagami Taichi and Izumi Koushiro managed to get a hold of them and warned them about Diablomon. Following this, the brothers searched the surrounding town for a computer to help fight in the Internet and found one in a barbarshop. Takeru, however, could not do much to help in the battle and could only watch in horror as Patamon fell to Diablomon. He was one of the many viewers around the world who watched the final battle between Omegamon and Diablomon.
Between Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02[edit]
In May 2000, Takeru arrived in the Digital World and gave up his Crest power to free the Four Holy Beasts. As a result, Patamon lost the power to evolve to Perfect.
Shortly before he began attending the fifth grade, Takeru and his mother moved to an apartment building in Odaiba.
Digimon Adventure 02[edit]
Takeru grew a lot during the years after his first adventure. On his first day of school, Takeru met Inoue Miyako and Hida Iori, his new neighbors. He also started attending Odaiba Elementary, and quickly found out that he was in the same class as his old friend Hikari, as well as goggleboy Motomiya Daisuke. Because he and Hikari were already good friends, a paranoid Daisuke immediately pegged him as a rival for Hikari's affections. Soon, he found out that he, along with Hikari, Daisuke, Miyako and Iori, were chosen to fight an evil human child called the Digimon Kaiser, who was taking over vast parts of the Digital World. Before long, his old Digivice was modified into the new D-3, and he received the Digimental of Hope, which allowed Patamon to evolve into Pegasmon. Takeru had a slight advantage compared to the new kids because he had the most experience with Digimon.
After some time fighting the Digimon Kaiser, Hikari fell victim to the influence of the World of Darkness, and was taken there from the Real World. Deeply concerned, Takeru, Patamon and Tailmon found their way to the World of Darkness and helped Hikari destroy a Dark Tower and escape the creatures of darkness that brought her there, who wanted Hikari to bear the children of their master, Dagomon.
When the Chosen Children went to camp in the Digital World to defeat the Digimon Kaiser once and for all, Takeru and Iori managed to infiltrate the Kaiser's base. While they were in the base, the Kaiser managed to extract the essence of Devimon from the darkness and take his data for his artificial beast, Chimairamon. Once Takeru realized what the Kaiser was doing, he was deeply angred. He proceeded to locate the Kaiser, antagonize him and engage in a fistfight with him.
After Paildramon and Silphymon debuted, Iori realized that Takeru would be his Jogress partner eventually. Iori remembered that incident with the Kaiser, and noticed that Takeru was as uncharacteristically violent and angry where Black War Greymon was involved. Desperate to understand Takeru's attitude towards evil, he turned to Yamato, who told him about Angemon's death, which had affected Takeru more than anyone had realized. This was all Iori needed for Ankylomon and Angemon to Jogress into Shakkoumon.
On Christmas Eve, Takeru went to Ken's Christmas party with the rest of the younger Chosen, although it ended abruptly as they had to send rampaging Digimon back to the Digital World and destroy a Dark Tower. The next day, the Chosen Children found out that Digital Gates were open in the entire world. Qinglongmon gave the Chosen Children one of his Digicores to help power up the Digimon, and Takeru went with Taichi to Paris to help the French Chosen Children round up the wild Digimon who had appeared in the Real World.
Back in Japan, the children had to fend off the Demon Corps, a group of evil Digimon led by Demon, as well as Archnemon, Mummymon and their boss, the human Oikawa Yukio. He and the other children helped Ken open a gate to the World of Darkness and banished Demon through the gate. However, Oikawa managed to run away. In his wake, he left twenty children, who had Dark Seeds sown into their necks.
Takeru and the others followed the seeded children for the following days, facing Oikawa several times. On December 31st, they followed Oikawa and the children to the world of dreams, where it was revealed that Oikawa Yukio was possessed by the spirit of Belial Vamdemon, who absorbed the power of the Dark Seeds in the seeded children's necks to gain a corporeal form. He killed Archnemon and Mummymon, which shocked and frightened Takeru and the others. When Daisuke and XV-mon started fighting back, Belial Vamdemon subjected the children to an illusion, showing their greatest desire. Takeru's desire was for his family to be together again, but it was broken by Patamon's explanation that it wasn't real, and Daisuke appeared to take him back to the other kids. When everyone's illusions were broken, Takeru used the power of the dream dimension against Belial Vamdemon, with Angemon, Holy Angemon, Pegasmon and Shakkoumon appearing all at once to fight Belial Vamdemon. After Belial Vamdemon escaped to the Digital World, the light from his D-3 helped weaken Belial Vamdemon and power up Imperialdramon Fighter Mode's Giga Death cannon.
Digimon Adventure 02: Digimon Hurricane Touchdown!! Supreme Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals[edit]
When he and Hikari visited Tachikawa Mimi in New York, they encountered Wallace, Terriermon and Wendimon. While on a train for Colorado, their train was hindered by Wendimon, so they had to continue on foot. He and Hikari managed to join the others during the fight with Cherubimon.
Digimon Adventure 02: Diablomon Strikes Back[edit]
Takeru went with Iori to collect Kuramon and send them to Koushiro's computer. However, he later parted with Iori and went into the Internet with Hikari, to aid their brothers in the battle against Diablomon. After Diablomon was beaten, he returned to the Real World to watch the battle against Armagemon.
25 Years Later[edit]
By the year 2028, Takeru has become an author. He writes stories based on the adventures he and the other children had. He is married and has a son, who has a Tokomon for a partner.

Before the events of the game, the Chosen Children and their Partner Digimon were kidnapped by Millenniumon.
After Akiyama Ryo defeated Etemon, Takenouchi Sora, Takeru, Piyomon and Patamon were freed. The Chosen Children then returned to their world, while their Partner Digimon joined Ryo to rescue the others.
Digimon World: Digital Card Arena[edit]
Takeru in his 02 design appears in Pyramid City's Battle Café. After asking the player if he wants to be a Battle Master, he tells him about Sage Tower, as that's the best place for a Card Tamer to test themselves in. After beating Pyramid City's Battle Arena, Takeru will give the Digimental of Hope to the player's Patamon if they chose it as their second Partner, allowing it to Armor Evolve into Pegasmon.
Takeru can be battled in the post-game. He uses the Wings of Hope deck, a Green/Nature which attacks and defends wisely. Beating him for the first time will award the player a Green Pack, and subsequent defeats other than the sixth one may award it too. Beating him six times will award the player Digi-Part 092 to Reduce both Player's Atk Pwr to 0. Furthermore, during the third and sixth battles, Takeru will give the player his Pegas and Baro decks, so the player may register Pegasmon and Baromon if he hasn't chosen Patamon as a Partner Card. If he has, he won't offer the decks.

Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode[edit]
After Taiga defeated Kido Jo, Takeru, under his initials, sent him a mail, challenging him to a fight even though he wasn't as strong as his brother. This is the Colosseum 30th floor Free Battle: "I'm not a kid!". Ishida Yamato soon joins, confused as to why Takeru was there. Takeru explains to him that he'll fight alongside Patamon but Yamato thinks he isn't ready for that yet, plus Taiga was strong so he should be the one fighting instead. Takeru gets angry as he doesn't want to be protected all the time, so Yamato offers to join him instead, fighting alongside Were Garurumon. After being defeated, Takeru cried that they lost, but Yamato acknowledged how much his little brother had grown and how strong he got. Takeru thanked him then asked Taiga for another fight someday. This awards Taiga the Takeru's Cap accesory.
Later, under his full name, Takeru sends Taiga another challenge mail, this time for a 1-on-1 match. This is the 40th floor Free Battle: "A Boy's Hope", where Takeru remarks once again he won't rely on Yamato for this battle and how he wants to protect him and everyone. He then orders Patamon to evolve into Holy Angemon. After losing, Takeru wondered if he got any stronger despite his defeat. Yamato told him he could stand on his own now and Yamato didn't need to protect him anymore. Takeru asked him if he had watched the match, which he did, and he acknowledged his little brother's strength. Takeru thanked both Yamato and Taiga, the latter having helped him figure out how to use his full power. As a thank you, Takeru gives him two Chips of Hope, which contain the power of his Crest of Hope.
Takeru fights alongside Seraphimon in the Heavenly Hall Tournament "Legendary Digimon Battle".
