Digimon Adventure 02[edit]
In "The Call of Dagomon", Yagami Hikari is drawn into the World of Darkness, where she encounters creatures resembling Hangyomon inside a coastal cave. They bear Evil Spirals that appear to drain their energy and claim that these were placed on them by the god they worship.
After Takaishi Takeru, Patamon, and Tailmon arrive to help Hikari, Tailmon evolves into Angewomon and destroys an Airdramon controlled by an Evil Ring, along with a Dark Tower concealed inside a lighthouse. The creatures reveal their true forms as beings of darkness and attempt to take Hikari as a bride so that they can produce offspring to oppose their new god.
Hikari refuses, and Angewomon fires a warning shot. The creatures retreat into the ocean, declaring that they will return to their former god. After Hikari and her companions leave, Dagomon's enormous silhouette rises from the sea.
Digimon Adventure -Beyond-[edit]
In Kakudou Hiroyuki's accompanying story Digimon Adventure 13+, published on his personal blog rather than through an official release, Takaishi Takeru and Patamon enter the World of Darkness and confront the presence within its ocean.Takaishi Takeru and Patamon enter the World of Darkness and confront the presence within its ocean. Takeru argues that the ocean itself is the true entity, formed from accumulated malicious thoughts, and that the figure of Dagomon is a shape it has adopted to intimidate Digimon and their partners. Angoramon relays this explanation to his companions while acknowledging that he cannot verify it.
Takeru challenges the ocean with the knowledge that Patamon can now attain stronger forms and that allies from other worlds have previously defeated Dagomon. The shadow responds by extending its tentacles and transforming into Dijiangmon. Takeru considers this advantageous, as their opponent has now clearly become a Digimon that they can fight.
Patamon and Armadimon evolve into Angemon and Ankylomon, then Jogress Evolve into Shakkoumon. They battle Dijiangmon alongside allies from other worlds until Omegamon arrives and bisects him with his sword.
