Digimon World: Digital Card Arena[edit]
Black Metal Garurumon appears in Igloo City's Battle Cafe after Infinity Tower's last Battle Arena has been cleared. He recognizes the player upon meeting him, having heard about him, and tells the player he'll wait for him in the Arena without letting the player say anything else.
Black Metal Garurumon serves as the third and final opponent of Igloo City's fourth and final Battle Arena. He introduces himself to the player before their battle starts, and tells him that Card Tamers can only understand each other through battle. Black Metal Garurumon plays the Patriot deck, a Blue/Water deck with 4 attack, defense and evolution speed, that's a slow killer with Jamming and Void support. Upon losing, he tells the player that the most important thing is to understand each other through battle, and focusing on winning will only grant him defeat.
Defeating Black Metal Garurumon in the Battle Cafe after clearing the Battle Arena will reward the player the Reverse Sevens card.
Black Metal Garurumon's not obtainable as a card in the game, one of only three Digimon not to, alongside Great King Scumon and Black War Greymon.

Kuga Yuuya found Plotmon, about to get attacked by a Metal Garurumon (Black), in the sixth floor of Infinity Mountain. He was uninterested in the fight between two stray dogs and instead decided to bet with Taiga on who'd win, though he found it boring either way. DORUmon then showed up and Yuuya insulted DORUmon then left. DORUmon attempted to run away but tripped. Plotmon wanted to as well, but because of the X-Program, it couldn't focus. Still, with DORUmon there, it decided to put its life on the line and fight, X-Evolving into Plotmon (X-Antibody). With its newfound power, Plotmon thought they could win, and called everyone to fight alongside it. However, only Taiga and Digimaru did, with DORUmon distancing himself instead. Nonetheless, they were enough to defeat Metal Garurumon (Black).
