A General (ジェネラル Jeneraru) is a human in possession of a Xros Loader that commands a Digimon Army. In the Digimon Xros Wars manga, Generals carry a special trait called Xros Code.

In Digimon Xros Wars: The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time, Generals are succeeded by Hunters, with some Generals becoming Hunters.

Digimon Xros Wars Super Digica Taisen

In Digimon Xros Wars Super Digica Taisen, a General serves as the player's avatar and commander. After selecting a game mode, the player chooses a General before forming their Digimon army and entering a stage. The selected General determines the species of Nanomon accompanying the army and has favorable compatibility with particular D-Skill attributes. In the original battle system, the available Generals included Kudou Taiki, Aonuma Kiriha, and Amano Nene, with the Three Head Officers, Yagami Taichi, and Dark Knightmon subsequently becoming selectable.

Beginning with Version 5, the game was renewed as General Strikers and the role of the General was expanded through the introduction of General Commands, whose effectiveness varies depending on the selected General. The Three Head Officers were removed from the General selection, while numerous characters from previous Digimon series were introduced as playable Generals. Amano Yuu and Bagramon were also made selectable during the General Strikers versions. The game does not limit the title of General to human characters, as Digimon such as the Three Head Officers, Dark Knightmon, and Bagramon can also command the player's army.

Digimon Card Game

"General" is a trait given to the Tamer cards that were Generals in the Digimon Xros Wars anime, introduced in BT-10 Xros Encounter. General cards have effects that support DigiXros.
