Profile

Yuu is the younger brother of Amano Nene. While growing up, he loved other people and creatures and didn't want to hurt anyone, but had to hold himself back to prevent hurting others and came to resent it.

Yuu's first encounter with the Digital World was several years prior to the commencement of the series; while hiding from everyone in sorrow from the death of his grandmother, Damemon first appeared before him, and Skull Knightmon drew him into digital space, had him register his black Xros Loader, and promised to come back for him one day when the "game" was "ready" for him.

Digimon Xros Wars & The Evil Death General and the Seven Kingdoms

Yuu is Amano Nene's younger brother. Several years before the war, while grieving his grandmother's death, he encounters Damemon and Skull Knightmon. Skull Knightmon introduces him to a digital space, has him register a black Xros Loader, and promises to return when the "game" is ready. By presenting the Digital World as a place without real death or suffering, he offers Yuu the apparent freedom to act without worrying about hurting others.

Nene is subsequently led to believe that Yuu is lost or imprisoned somewhere in the Digital World. She cooperates with Dark Knightmon in the hope of finding him, unaware that he already knows her brother's whereabouts. Dark Knightmon uses this knowledge to control her and secure her assistance in gathering darkness. After obtaining the Darkness Loader, he refuses to fulfill his promise to return Yuu.

During Kudou Taiki's absence from the Digital World, Yuu begins participating in the war as a General commanding forces associated with Twilight and the Bagra Army. Believing that he is playing a game, he approaches battles with excitement and treats the destruction of Digimon as a measure of his success. He also believes that defeating or killing Nene and Taiki would leave their real selves unharmed in the Real World.

Yuu's closest companion is Damemon, who also acts as Tuwarmon and assists him in commanding his forces. Although their relationship develops into a genuine friendship, Damemon's involvement in Dark Knightmon's plans helps sustain Yuu's mistaken understanding of the world. With his Xros Loader, Yuu performs DigiXros and becomes an important human asset to Dark Knightmon's army.

After an earlier encounter with Aonuma Kiriha, Yuu reveals himself to Xros Heart during the campaign in Honey Land. Nene is shocked to discover that the brother she has been trying to rescue is willingly fighting for their enemies. Her appeals fail to persuade him, as he interprets her opposition as another part of the game rather than an attempt to protect him.

The conflict comes to a head in Bright Land, where Yuu confronts Taiki in Hell's Field. Yuu regards their confrontation as a contest between Generals and explains the rules of the world as Dark Knightmon has taught them to him. Taiki rejects this account, insisting that their struggle is real and that the Digimon destroyed in battle are living beings. Nene also attempts to reach her brother, challenging his belief that nobody can truly be hurt.

Taiki's determination and concern for others begin to undermine Yuu's confidence in Dark Knightmon's explanation. Nevertheless, Yuu initially retreats with Tuwarmon, who attempts to dismiss Taiki and Nene's words as lies. His uncertainty grows as the consequences of the fighting become impossible to reconcile with the harmless game he believed he was playing.

Damemon's death from wounds sustained during the battle finally forces Yuu to recognize the truth. Confronted with the loss of his closest companion, he realizes that Digimon cannot simply be restored by restarting a game. His grief also makes him understand the suffering he has inflicted on others, shattering his trust in Dark Knightmon.

Rather than helping Yuu, Dark Knightmon imprisons him at Bagra Pandemonium and exploits his ability to perform DigiXros to power the Darkness Loader. He openly acknowledges that the war was never a game, confirming that Yuu's participation was secured through deception. Yuu is left overwhelmed by the knowledge that he has been used and that his actions have caused real deaths.

Taiki refuses to abandon Yuu despite their earlier battles and rescues him during the confrontation with Dark Knightmon. Through Taiki's willingness to help him and Nene's continued affection, Yuu begins to move beyond his despair and accepts the need to oppose the army he previously supported.

During the final battle against Darkness Bagramon in the Real World, Yuu transforms the Darkness Loader into a yellow Xros Loader. Now fighting as a General on Xros Heart's side, he leads its Digimon against Bagramon's forces while Taiki attempts to rescue Shoutmon from the Dark Stone. He subsequently joins Nene, Taiki, Kiriha, Hinomoto Akari, and Tsurugi Zenjirou in supporting the Final Xros that creates Shoutmon X7: Superior Mode.

Following Darkness Bagramon's defeat, Yuu returns to the Real World with his sister and the other humans. Although the war has ended, his regret over his actions and the loss of Damemon remain, shaping his determination to respect Digimon as living beings and make amends for the harm he caused.

Digimon Xros Wars: The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time

One year after the defeat of Darkness Bagramon, Yuu joins Kudou Taiki's Xros Heart street basketball team alongside Akashi Tagiru. He attends the same class as Tagiru and frequently finds his impulsive behavior exasperating, sometimes regarding him as an airhead. Yuu lives alone in a large apartment, as his older sister, Amano Nene, has moved to Hong Kong to work as an idol and his other relatives are overseas.

Deeply regretting his actions under Skull Knightmon's influence, Yuu seeks to atone for the suffering he caused during the war. Consequently, he strongly objects to treating Digimon or Digimon Hunting as a game, a trivial pastime, or an opportunity for personal gain. This brings him into conflict with Tagiru and Mashimo Hideaki, whose attitudes toward the hunt sometimes clash with his concern for the Digimon involved.

When Tagiru discovers DigiQuartz, Yuu and Taiki explain their previous adventures in the Digital World and help him understand that Digimon are living beings. Although Yuu supports their investigations, seeing Tagiru together with Gumdramon reminds him of the loss of his own companion, Damemon, whom he has not forgotten.

Yuu eventually reunites with Damemon and resumes fighting alongside him, using his yellow Xros Loader to participate in the hunt. Damemon can Super Evolve into Tuwarmon, allowing the pair to protect others and confront the Digimon causing disturbances in DigiQuartz.

Yuu also cooperates with Taiki to overcome DigiQuartz's restrictions on Reloading and DigiXros. During the battle against Superstarmon, Taiki transfers Ballistamon and Dorulumon to Yuu's Xros Loader. The two then perform a Double Xros, combining them with Shoutmon and the Starmons into Shoutmon X4.

As the threat of Quartzmon becomes apparent, Yuu joins the other Hunters and the heroes gathered by the Old Clock Shop Man for the final confrontation. He supports the effort to stop Quartzmon from converting the Real World into DigiQuartz and is ultimately freed with the others when Tagiru and Arresterdramon defeat and capture it.

Following the destruction of DigiQuartz, Yuu returns to his everyday life with Taiki and Tagiru, reunited with Damemon and continuing to uphold the respect for Digimon that he learned through his experiences.

Digimon Xros Wars DIGIMON EXPO'25 Reading Drama

Yuu and Damemon showed up after Akashi Tagiru boasted to the audience and criticized Tagiru for thinking he was the only Digimon Hunter around. Tagiru was surprised the Old Clock Shop Man called more people, which Yuu and Damemmon confirmed, the latter pointing out the Old Clock Shop Man would never trust Tagiru and Gumdramon alone with a hunt, which angered Gumdramon. Said Old Clock Shop Man then showed up, stopped their fight, and explained to Tagiru that they had leapt through time 15 years after their final battle, which shocked Tagiru, but he continued his explanation nonetheless, saying that several human-loving Digimon had gathered there but their spirit had caused space-time to distort, which caused a Digimon to get lost and wander around the area. He asked them all to join forces to hunt that Digimon. Tagiru wondered if that "all" meant it wasn't just them, which Kudou Taiki confirmed as he arrived on the scene. He was followed by Aonuma Kiriha, Shoutmon, Dorulumon and Hinomoto Akari, all of which said something about the situation. Tagiru then wondered why Tsurugi Zenjirou wasn't with them and Taiki and Akari answered, in perfect harmony, he was too much of a pain so they left him behind. Tagiru agreed with that but then wondered why Amano Nene wasn't there either. Yuu explained that, during their final battle, Kiriha had fought alongside legendary heroes that were all pretty girls, which left Nene in a sour mood. He then asked Kiriha to do something about it but Kiriha just bashfully asked him not to talk about his personal matters so lightly. Taiki said Kiriha was the type to be surrounded by girls, which annoyed him as Taiki was exactly that himself. However, Yuu pointed out that Taiki may attract women, but he had eyes only for his "main wife", Akari, and he came across as far more steady than Kiriha. Taiki was left shocked by that, Shoutmon pointed out Yuu's tongue had gotten even sharper since they last met, and Akari was extremely happy about being Taiki's "main wife", as Dorulumon pointed out. Kiriha felt no one took his side.

The Old Clock Shop Man then interrupted their conversation to explain the target of their hunt: the illusory Digimon, Sakuradamon. Yuu thought that meant it was a police Digimon. The Old Clock Shop Man said that had nothing to do with this Sakuradamon, which was a Sakurada Digimon, something Akari had no idea about. Gumdramon thought it had to be a really savage Digimon to bring so many people to hunt it, but the Old Clock Shop Man said it was actually a very good-natured Digimon, just one that was very picky about its restaurants and would snap and cause an angry mess if it found a bad one. Taiki realized that meant Sakuradamon could cause lots of trouble, something that was proven true immediately as they heard an explosion coming from Jinbōchō. Said explosion was indeed caused by Sakuradamon, which Akari and Tagiru pointed out was both huge and making a very scary face, which made the latter wonder how this was meant to be a good-natured Digimon, which the Old Clock Shop Man pointed out had to be caused by a really bad restaurant, one Yuu never wanted to go to. Sakuradamon left towards Suidōbashi. Tagiru said they had to hunt it and Taiki called everyone to Super Evolve. As Tagiru Chikara! played, Tagiru, Yuu, Taiki and Kiriha super evolved their Partner Digimon (Gumdramon > Arresterdramon, Damemon > Tuwarmon, Shoutmon/Shoutmon (King Ver.) > Omega Shoutmon, Metal Greymon > Zeke Greymon). However, despite all attacking at once (including Dorulumon), they couldn't hurt Sakuradamon at all. Arresterdramon was attacked separatedly but was saved by Mervamon. Arresterdramon wondered where she came from and Akari pointed out she Reloaded her, as she had a Xros Loader of her own now and brought everyone's Digimon with her. Yuu pointed out that Nene giving Akari her Digimon meant she must be really mad at Kiriha, but Kiriha just asked him to postpone that conversation and called to Taiki, who himself told everyone to go for a Great Xros. Tagiru wondered if they could do it and the Old Clock Shop Man confirmed there were no restrictions on Reloading anymore as DigiQuartz had been eliminated. This made Tagiru realize that Taiki had had Shoutmon and Dorulumon out together all this time. Arresterdramon was overjoyed he got to DigiXros with his king. Taiki called everyone to give their power to Shoutmon. With WE ARE Xros Heart! (ver. X7) playing, Taiki (Omega Shoutmon, Ballistamon, Dorulumon), Kiriha (Zeke Greymon), Akari (Sparrowmon, Starmons, Mervamon), Yuu (Tuwarmon) and Tagiru (Arresterdramon) Great Xrossed their Digimon into Shoutmon X10. Tagiru was impressed by the new DigiXros and Yuu pointed out it was a shame they couldn't show the audience what it actually looked like. Shoutmon X10 then used his Tens Victorize which one-shot Sakuradamon, Taiki called Tagiru to capture it once it turned into data, and Tagiru did so. The Old Clock Shop Man then took Sakuradamon's data so it could be reborn as a Digitama in the future.

With the battle finished, Kiriha pointed out they went through a harsh battle that would've been impossible if any of them were missing, though Yuu pointed out he would've been more at ease with his sister there. Kiriha swore he'd properly explain himself to Nene, which made Damemon think he was no good too. This made everyone laugh. Everyone then left.
