Digimon Story: Super Xros Wars Blue & Red
ROG invades the LS-tou Zone in pursuit of the legendary ancient weapon and occupies Sky Fort, which was built to protect the Zone. Its members recognize Zeed Millenniumon as their leader and believe that obtaining the weapon will allow the organization to conquer the world. However, Zeed Millenniumon is controlled through Barbamon's illusion technique. Barbamon created ROG to assemble Digimon whose dark-hearted Digicores could be used to revive Armamon, intending to become its wielder.
During the opening part of the adventure, ROG's agents threaten and capture the separated members of Xros Heart. These encounters feature Mushmon, Goburimon, and Centalmon in Blue, while Gottsumon, Pico Devimon, and Cockatrimon appear in the corresponding encounters in Red. Wizarmon subsequently traps the reunited group outside Sky Fort. It interrogates Patamon about the Zone's hidden power and hopes to gain recognition from Minotaurmon by delivering Spadamon.
At Sky Fort's DigiLab, Cockatrimon, Gottsumon, and Mushmon guard the unconscious Ballistamon. Cockatrimon intends to use the laboratory's combination system to obtain its strength and toughness, but Taiki, Shoutmon, and Spadamon defeat the guards and rescue it before the experiment is completed. After Xros Heart defeats Minotaurmon, the army establishes its base at the fort and begins restoring the Condenser Towers.
ROG's six leaders oppose Xros Heart throughout the Zone. Pukumon confronts the group in Knuckle Coast with Coelamon, while Minervamon uses Cutemon as a hostage to force Dorulumon to capture Spadamon. Piccolomon and Ex-Tyranomon guard Cutemon while Minervamon and Dorulumon fight Taiki's party. In Skull Iceberg, Ice Devimon and its Devimon subordinates seek to exploit Spadamon's knowledge of the legendary weapon and its ability to activate the towers.
In Spider Nest Ruins, Archnemon uses Sparrowmon as bait to lure Spadamon. According to Archnemon, Zeed Millenniumon subjected Sparrowmon to an illusion technique and supplied it for the trap. In Papyrus Desert, Pharaohmon repeatedly confronts Xros Heart before transforming into Anubimon through Pyramid Power. After its defeat, it reveals that ROG has located the legendary weapon's seal and no longer needs to pursue Spadamon for that purpose.
The leaders later confront Xros Heart again in Crystal Volcano. After their defeats, Barbamon appears as a dark shadow and absorbs the qualities represented by their data:
| Member | Data |
|---|---|
| Minotaurmon | Power (パワー) |
| Pukumon | Wisdom (ちえ) |
| Minervamon | Agility (きびんさ) |
| Ice Devimon | Cunning (こうかつ) |
| Archnemon | Cruelness (ざんこくさ) |
| Pharaohmon | Tenacity (しゅうねん) |
| Zeed Millenniumon | Hatred (ぞうお) |
The leaders' responses to absorption differ. Minotaurmon accepts the prospect of being reborn stronger, while Pukumon willingly submits after reporting Xros Heart's fighting style. Minervamon honours an earlier agreement but dismisses the legendary weapon and predicts that Taiki's companions will eventually defeat ROG. Archnemon, by contrast, protests as the shadow absorbs it. Xros Heart initially mistakes the shadow for Zeed Millenniumon.
At Earth Fort, Zeed Millenniumon attempts to connect to Lost Space and break the weapon's seal. Its fragmented speech and decision to proceed without notifying the leaders concern Algomon, while Infermon remains confident in its authority and ROG's promised conquest. Xros Heart defeats all three. The shadow then appears while Zeed Millenniumon remains visible, revealing that they are separate entities. It absorbs Zeed Millenniumon's Hatred data and reveals itself as Barbamon.
Barbamon explains that Earth Fort is merely a gathering place for ROG: Armamon's true seal lies in the Omega Area of Lost Space. In Blue, Kiriha recognizes Barbamon's illusion technique as the cause of his manipulation, and Barbamon claims that Blue Flare helped advance its plans. In Red, Nene attributes her manipulation, Sparrowmon's condition, and the false Skull Knightmon and Deadly Axemon to the same technique. Barbamon immobilizes and expels Kiriha in Blue, or Nene in Red, before forcing Xros Heart to retreat.
Barbamon's Shadow Guards occupy the Condenser Towers and defend the route to Omega Area. The towers' Emergency Mode generates a Protect Field around Sky Fort, preventing both entry and departure. Xros Heart defeats the guards and restores the systems, eventually removing the barrier by normalizing the additional Condenser System in Stealth Valley.
Deathmon and Boltmon guard the entrance to Lost Space in Sky Garden, while Lord Knightmon and Slash Angemon defend the passage to Omega Area. After overcoming them, Xros Heart reaches System Omega, where Barbamon loads the collected Digicores to revive Armamon. It creates two additional versions of itself to fight the group while it remains at the controls.
Despite the copies' defeat, Armamon awakens. Barbamon orders it to attack the Zone's Digimon, but Armamon rejects its greed and declares it unworthy to be its wielder. It forcibly transforms Barbamon into its Galactic Sword and later DigiXroses with it and System Omega to become Omega Armamon Burst Mode. Xros Heart defeats this final form, and Spadamon subsequently explains that it eliminated Armamon together with the black hole created by its collapsing Digicore.
