An Insectivorous Plant Digimon with long, outstretched vines and a wide, open mouth. Although it is a fierce, brutal Digimon that uses the sweet scent it breathes from its mouth to attract small Digimon and its long, tentacle-like vines to pull them in, it is unable to stand against larger Digimon due to its lack of offensive power. As Vegimon grows, it will start flowering and eventually bear fruit.

Over at the volcano in "Indoor Tamer・Ritsu", Pulsemon smelled something sweet, which turned out to be Vegimon, who saw the group as a feast for themself, deep in the mountains. Patamon and Bokomon were worried as Vegimon was an Adult Digimon, but Pulsemon thought a real fight with Vegimon would give him experience to evolve. Vegimon was angry at being challenged by a Child Digimon, but Pulsemon was confident in himself because Kodou Ritsu was with him, and Digimon grew stronger with encouragement from their partners. Pulsemon and Vegimon rushed to fight each other, but Ritsu stopped Pulsemon. A volcanic rock then fell on Vegimon, defeating them instantly.

Digimon World[edit]

Vegimon appears as an obtainable Adult-level Virus type Digimon in Digimon World.

After you recruited Palmon, in the planters, Tanemon will talk you about a mysterious plant growing in the Tropical Jungle. Every 15th day of the month Tanemon will plant a Rain Plant (雨降り草の実 Amefuri Sou no Mi, meaning Rainfall Plant Seed) and if you bring it to the Tropical Jungle you'll see a tiny sprout asking for water. Use the Rain Plant and a Vegimon will finally grow and reveal itself, thanking you and joining the city, replacing Palmon in the Meat Farm, which now gives 3 pieces of Sirloin (極上肉 Gokujou Niku, meaning First-Rate Meat) that satisfy Digimon more than Palmon's Big Meat. Sometimes he'll handle out 5 pieces. Unlike Palmon, Vegimon no longer allows you to buy Sirloins though he instead sells Super Carrots (挑戦ニンジン Chousen Ninjin, meaning Challenge Carrot) and Hawk Radishes (サクラ鳥大根 Sakuratori Daikon, meaning Sakura Bird Radish) for 500 Bits each.

Both Palmon and Kunemon can evolve into Vegimon, in order to evolve into Vegimon, your Digimon must meet the following criteria:

  • More than 5 Care Mistakes
  • A Weight between 5 to 15g
  • Bonus conditions: Have at least a Happiness of 50% and have at least 21 different techniques mastered.

Vegimon's evolution item is the Organic Fertilizer which lets any Child Digimon evolve into Vegimon.

Vegimon has 4 possible evolutions depending on the stats and Care Mistakes made:

  • Piccolomon
  • Igamon (A Vegimon has a 30% chance of becoming Igamon after fighting 50+ battles and having a Discipline of 100%)
  • Scumon (When its Poop Gauge is full).
  • Vademon (When you scold it when its age reaches 15 days old, though this has a 50% chance of happening).

Finishing Technique – Amai Toiki:

Vegimon spews out a nasty, foul purple breath that intoxicates and poisons the enemy.

Digimon Adventure[edit]

A Vegimon was one of the DigiOne Grand Prix contestants that the Chosen Children met outside the Colosseum in Sub-Episode 10, "DigiOne Grand Prix".

Another Vegimon worked under Digitamamon in his restaurant, where Kido Jo and Gomamon were forced to work. He was introduced in Episode 27, "Oh Friend! Were Garurumon", where he took orders from a Yukidarumon, a Cockatrimon and a Monzaemon, then sent Gomamon to get more customers, which led him to meet with Ishida Yamato and Gabumon. As they talked, Vegimon approached the group and criticized Jo. Yamato asked him for how much longer Jo had to work, and Jo said it was originally for three days, but because Vegimon added more time every time he screwed up, he had to work for around two weeks now. Digitamamon, the restaurant's owner, then arrived. Yamato asked him if Jo hadn't worked enough yet, but Digitamamon didn't agree. Instead, he proposed Yamato work too. However, Yamato wanted to go back to Takaishi Takeru, so instead, he told Jo he'd come back for him after he met back with Takeru. Nonetheless, he'd end up joining in the work after Digitamamon threatened Jo on Pico Devimon's orders.

As they kept working, Vegimon gave Jo ten more days of work for getting an order wrong, to Pico Devimon's delight.

Later on, after Yamato left the restaurant in anger, then came back due to hearing his brother's voice, which led to him meeting Yagami Taichi, and then they fought due to Yamato not trusting Jo anymore, Digitamamon and Pico Devimon left the restaurant and warned them not to try to run away. Jo recognized Pico Devimon as the one that lied to him by saying he'd lead him to other humans, then Agumon pointed out he was a bad Digimon. Digitamamon told them they had to keep working their debt off, though Yamato exclaimed that their debt was paid off a long time ago. Digitamamon accepted he was right, and he'd give Yamato his change - Vegimon taking Takeru hostage. Jo then risked himself and got badly hurt to save Takeru as a way to repay Yamato, which deeply touched him. However, this led to Yamato's Crest of Friendship activating and his Partner Digimon, Garurumon, evolving into Were Garurumon, who defeated Digitamamon, causing both Pico Devimon and Vegimon to run away.

Vegimon appear as random encounters starting from Episode 31, "Vamdemon, the Castle of Darkness". Unlike other random encounters, they'll run away from the player. They can deal damage to one Digimon with Sharp Leaf and Unchi Nage.

In Episode 31, "Vamdemon, the Castle of Darkness", before Agumon and Palmon attempted to sneak into Vamdemon Castle, Pico Devimon complained about Nanimon's students (a group of Numemon and Vegimon, as well as a Scumon and a Tyumon), though the latter made it clear that he could make them into proper soldiers, and Pico Devimon left the matter in his hands. Agumon and Palmon then arrived and asked him if they could join them, and Nanimon accepted them as they looked stronger than the Digimon it was training. Nanimon made the Partner Digimon join his training regiment, which left them with no chance to sneak the Chosen Children in. Scumon, who overheard them, then told them that he had been in an unit with Nanimon in the past, and that he was useless in combat back then because he kept getting drunk. Agumon saw this as their chance to get rid of Nanimon, though Palmon was confused about it.

Later, as the Chosen Children invaded the castle, Vamdemon proclaimed to his servants (which included Tailmon, Pico Devimon and Nanimon) that it was time to depart to kill the eighth Chosen Child. With the chant "Tlon, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius!", Vamdemon opened a gigantic gate through which they attempted to leave. However, before they could, the Chosen Children arrived. Vamdemon did not care, however, as they were too late. He refused to stay and ordered Pico Devimon to take care of the Chosen Children, and he then passed the order to Nanimon, who fought the Chosen Children alongside a Scumon, a Tyumon and a Vegimon.

A Vegimon fights alongside Nanimon and a Scumon & Tyumon as the thirty-seventh obligatory boss of the game, fighting the Chosen Children in Episode 31, "Vamdemon, the Castle of Darkness". It's identical to the random encounter Vegimon.

They were all easily defeated, and afterwards Nanimon surrendered. He excused himself in saying that retreating is winning in its own way, then ran away alongside his students, leaving Pico Devimon to face the Chosen Children and their Adult-level Partners alone.

In Episode 39, "Meanwhile, with Sora...", in the Main Street, Takenouchi Sora and Pyocomon looked for a bunch of flowers for Takenouchi Toshiko. Pyocomon encouraged Sora to get it done quickly, so she could go to soccer practice. However, they found a Vegimon in front of the florist, who didn't seem to be looking for the eighth Chosen Child. Sora and Pyocomon listened to mutter to himself about how he had found "cuties" (flowers, as Sora pointed out) that didn't exist in the Digital World, angrily pointing out how humans would sell them in a place like that, and how he'd save them, and he'd become popular. Realizing he'd cause the florist problems, Sora decided to stop him, even if it meant missing soccer practice. As such, Sora and Pyocomon confronted Vegimon, who just decided to beat them up.

Vegimon is the 44th obligatory boss of the game, fighting Piyomon at the end of Episode 39, "Meanwhile, with Sora...". He's no stronger than the previous Vegimon fights, to the point that Garudamon should be able to beat it in one blow.
