Raremon lived in a place full of garbage that came from Earth. It was responsible for destroying several Tyumon living with Gerbemon. It was frozen by Gerbemon, but the black lightning accumulated in the area caused it to evolve to Rare Raremon.

Raremon is a Disaster-Class Digimon born from a man angry at his wife and children leaving him in "A Black Emotion". After being born, it absorbed its Tamer and went on a rampage. The Glowing Dawn tried to stop it, only for them to be defeated. It was then deleted by Kutsuna Kaito and Flaremon, who took its Sapotama.
The Five Planets and Chairman Wong talked about Raremon in their meeting in "Five Star Meeting" as one of two Disaster-Class Digimon that appeared one after the other, alongside Marin Bullmon. Its data is also shown in Apraxas.

During "Black-Winged Knight!", in Tatsuno Tsurugi's second Net Battle competition, he is challenged by Kondoo and his partner Raremon. Kondoo is the coworker of Saitou, who was angry that a little brat had defeated him with his "Chibi Greymon". Tsurugi seemed worried that Raremon was too strong for him, but in the end he didn't even fight him due to Peckmon's sudden intrusion.

Izumi Koshiro and Tentomon found Raremon at the Shibaura Wharf at night in Episode 37, "Raremon! The Surprise Attack on Tokyo Bay", after being warned by Gennai via e-mail about it. It let loose a strong smell then attacked them.
Raremon is the 42nd obligatory boss of the game, fighting Tentomon at the end of Episode 37, "Raremon! The Surprise Attack on Tokyo Bay". It can deal damage, Sticky and lower the attack of one Digimon with Hedoro, deal damage to one Digimon and Shock with Rotten Tackle and deal damage to one Digimon with Kusai Gas.
Raremon appear as random encounters starting from Episode 57, "The Diabolical Waru Monzaemon".

Digimon Story: Time Stranger[edit]
A massive Raremon threatened Misono Inori and Coo in the sewers. After being asked to stop it by Misono Kosuke, the Agent fights it, at first alongside Coo until he runs away. On top of regular attacks, it has the skills Lunatic Gate II, Hell Crusher II, and a modified version of Hedoro that always inflicts poison (which it always uses if its HP is 50% or below). In the Super Ultimate difficulty, Hedoro will also inflict Disease. It perishes after it is defeated.
Raremon is also an obtainable Digimon. It can be scanned in the Abyss Area. It evolves from Ganimon, Toy Agumon, or Shakomon, and can evolve into Dagomon, Black King Numemon, Tonosama Gekomon, Ex-Tyranomon, or Skull Baluchimon.
Clearing the "Survive to the End 1" Outer Dungeon Mission also awards Yuki Dan/Yuki Kanan with a Raremon who joins them because it wants to leave the Outer Dungeon. Raremon joins at level 15 with the Aqua Pressure II and Accel Boost Attachment Skills.
