This collaboration design by Watanabe Kenji is a version of Skull Greymon that has been infected by "G-Cells", the mutagenic cells of Godzilla. As such, this is a Skull Greymon that has partially transformed into Godzilla, with the skull and tail more closely resembling Godzilla's. The skeletal spikes of Skull Greymon have transformed into the dorsal plates of Godzilla, and the organic missile held in Skull Greymon's spinal cord has also grown similar dorsal plates.
Together with Mugendramon: MFS-3 Mode, it may specifically allude to the 2002 film Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla and its 2003 sequel, Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. This continuity's Mechagodzilla was constructed using the skeletal remains of 1954's Godzilla to battle the one threatening Tokyo currently, inadvertently leading to the robot becoming possessed by the original Godzilla's soul and acting autonomously.
