Digimon Story: Time Stranger Prelude[edit]
3 years ago, Sagisaka Hiroko[15][N 2] gifted two Agent Alpha movie tickets to Inori for her younger brother and her mother. She was waiting for them in her home during the Digimon attack, but they never came back home again.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger[edit]
Inori lost her brother Misono Yuta and her unnamed mother three years ago to a Digimon attack, where her mother was accidentally killed by a Mugendramon and her brother was killed shortly after while being caught in a battle between Justimon (who evolved from a Revolmon protecting him) and Titamon. Since then, her sole caretaker is her father, Misono Kosuke and she began obsessively trying to take injured animals back to her home. Her father has allergies with animals however, so she cannot actually keep them. Her friend Sagisaka Hiroko noticed this as well and roped her into routine Digimon investigating livestreams ostensibly to earn money, but she was actually trying to help her find a lead to her mother and younger brother's death and was providing valuable emotional support for her.
Upon creation, the protagonist was guided into meeting a time-displaced version of Inori who recognizes them and asks them "where "he" went". They escort her all the way to the top of the building, fighting numerous Digimon on the way before witnessing the Shinjuku Inferno.
When the protagonist appeared in Shinjuku eight years prior to the present day, Inori was roped by Sagisaka Hiroko to livestream with her in the waterway where dangerous Digimon reside. When the protagonist goes to save her for her father, she was seen nursing an injured Elecmon she named "Coo-chan". The protagonist defeats a Raremon endangering them and the three escape the waterway, but leaves "Coo-chan" behind. On the next day, Inori and the protagonist was roped by Hiroko into investigating the waterway again. There, the party encounters "Coo-chan" again and pursues him all the way to a spacious underwater reservoir where they were attacked by a Cyclomon. "Coo-chan" evolves into Aegiomon during the fight and became Inori's Digimon partner.
Inori considered Aegiomon as a substitute for her deceased brother and her father had the Digimon wear his clothes and a beanie hat to hide his horns and prevent other people from realizing that he is a monster. This does not work for long, as after saving some human children Aegiomon befriended from a Vademon, they found out that he has horns after his cap fell off during the fight and distanced away from him. Inori consoled him on that night and confided to him that he reminded her of her brother, and vowed to him that they will always be together.
While investigating a mysterious shadow appearing in the Shinjuku subway, Inori, alongside the Agent and Aegiomon, were sucked into a Digital rift following a battle against Titamon. There, they find a way to escape, helping the area guardian Digimon suppress Titan attacks in the process. Eventually, their search for a way to escape brings them to Junomon, who made a deal with them where they will suppress the Titans of the Abyss Area and the Gear Forest in exchange for freedom. This backfired horribly, as not only the Titans invaded the Guardian Palace after they compromised the Energy Vein of Iliad, when pressured by Titamon, Junomon's possessive attachment towards Aegiomon drives her into a violent rampage summoning hordes of Titans and rogue Digimon into the human world in an attempt drag the Agent and Inori back to the human world to keep Aegiomon for herself. While in the passageway between worlds, Inori tells Aegiomon that she was sorry for making Junomon angry, but Aegiomon reassures to her that he will always be Aegiomon's Digimon partner. Inori's strong bond with Aegiomon allows him to evolve into Aegiochusmon.
She, Aegiochusmon and the Agent battled their way across Shinjuku and helped Public Security suppress the Digimon. Eventually, their search for Chronomon's Treasure leads them to Titamon + Skull Baluchimon, who challenges them to a fight. During the battle, Inori vows to Aegiomon that she will defend Shinjuku that she had many memories of that helped her put through even after her mother and brother's death, and that she does not hate Digimon, but hates conflict. When the Agent was worried that they cannot change anything with time travel, Inori encourages them to put through. At the later stages of the fight, Inori herself became terrified of what will happen to Shinjuku and Aegiochusmon apologizes for the harm the Digimon brought to the human world. She reassures him that she held no grudge against Digimon despite they killed her younger mother and brother, and the only thing she hates is conflict itself. They successfully defeat Titamon, but Chronomon's Treasure explodes and destroys the Government Building. Aegiomon approaches the blast and obtains time-traveling powers, transporting himself, the Agent and Inori 8 years into the future.
In the present day, the party realizes things are significantly different from prior. Digimon are now well-known and are roaming all over Shinjuku, Inori's friend Hiroko is now a grown woman who owns the Misono Household, and the site where they once fought Titamon now contains a Digital Gate where Digimon endlessly pour in. Hiroko also reveals that Kosuke had rejoined Public Security and there is a new Pubsec subdivision known as "D-SAT", who captures and suppresses Digimon through force and encircles them in the "Wall of Hope". On the next day, they were instantly met with a house arrest leg the head of D-SAT Kuroi Shota, now a genocidal maniac who deems that all Digimon must be exterminated. Inori tries to appeal to him citing that she worked with Kuremi Kodai, but he is resolute and orders them to be detained in the D-SAT underground laboratory. However, Shiroki Asuna arrives in time to escort them to Rebellion Village, where the refugees of Central Town are presiding at.
The party finds Mercurymon ailing and poisoned and asks them to find a healer for him, setting them on a quest to find Venusmon. When they do find her and gave her Neptunemon's scarf after delivering a peace offering wine to him, Venusmon became distraught, realizing that the Titan leader was the Digimon she once saved. Once Neptunemon died to the poisoned wine Ranamon poisoned the waters, and Inori seemingly dies alongside Aegiomon and the Agent only to be caught inside the Threshold Theater and traveling back in time to stop Neptunemon from drinking the poisoned wine. They then proceeded to save Bacchusmon and Marsmon as well using time travel. After saving the former, Inori, the protagonist and Aegiomon made a vow at the aftermath of Bacchusmon's party, telling them that she wished for the three to be together. In the latter case, Inori gave encouraging words for Grappu Leomon for him to evolve into Marsmon and confront his now-Titan older brother Callismon. Being confident with mastering his time traveling abilities, Aegiomon believes that he could now use it to undo the deaths of Inori's mother and little brother. After saving Marsmon, Inori had a heartfelt conversation with Aegiomon, where he vows to do exactly so.
Their joy did not last however, as Dr. Simmons had received a report that Public Security is going to deploy a giant weapon, and the one behind the deployment was Inori's father, Kosuke. She tries to appeal to her father trying to tell him to stop deploying the weapon, but he is resolute, apprehending the Agent and Aegiomon while telling her that having been lost his entire family to Digimon, he must activate the weapon to exterminate all of them so nobody will lose a family to Digimon again. Aegiomon escapes and meets Inori on the rooftop of the Government Building, where they witness the Shinjuku Inferno. Inori was sealed in a space-time rift afterwards and Aegiomon went insane trying to find her. Both of them vanish for a large portion of the game, leaving the Agent alone to save the rest of the Apostles of Iliad.
According to Inori herself, when she was trapped, she only remembered desperately crying for Aegiomon for help.
After the Agent saves Junomon, they were told of their true identity and fused with Aegiomon into Jupitermon to combat the Giant Slayer without destroying Shinjuku and resetting the timeline. As Jupitermon is now fully sane, he was able to bring both Apollomon and Dianamon to put the situation under control. Apollomon and Dianamon fused into Grace Novamon, allowing Jupitermon: Wrath Mode to safely destroy Chronomon's avatar. However, Jupitermon: Wrath Mode sustained too much damage and its components split back into Aegiomon and the Agent. They managed to identify the space-time rift where Inori is sealed at, and pull her out from it. Inori, alongside Aegiomon, the Agent, and numerous others were transported into the Akashic Records, where Chronomon awaits to be slain.
With the assistance of the numerous Digimon trapped inside the Akashic Records, the party fights through fake versions of the Seven Great Demon Lords summoned by Chronomon, and eventually makes their way to Ceresmon's back. Inori drops down to the battlefield while being carried in the Agent's arms. After a long and difficult fight, Aegiomon and the Agent become Jupitermon again and slays Chronomon, putting him out of his misery. However, as the space-time continuum continues to collapse and reality is under the threat of complete erasure, Jupitermon volunteers to become Chronomon's successor as the new keeper of time, which also means that he has to part with Inori and leave her alone. Realizing that she is about to lose everything, she tearfully parts with Jupitermon as it vanishes entirely, seemingly leaving her to be trapped alone and crying. In actuality, Aegiomon promised to do everything he could to make sure she is happy while parting with the Agent, so he created a new timeline where the Digital Gates never opened, ensuring that her younger brother and mother is now intact and alive. He also sends the Agent back to the human world, as he is sure that he could handle everything from now on.
In the new timeline Aegiomon as Jupitermon created, Inori and Yuta walked across Shinjuku's vision square while the latter runs towards the Agent getting excited about his new Alpha model phone. Inori keeps him in check and she notices the Agent. The Agent reminded her of Aegiomon and smiles at them.
Alternate Dimension[edit]
In the first DLC scenario, an alternate version of Inori and Aegiomon were separated from their own version of the agent in the Shinjuku Subway, where they were abducted by Parallelmon. It was heavily implied that this version of Inori has at least saved Neptunemon and Venusmon before, as she recognizes Ranamon as the Digimon who attacked Kodai 8 years ago.
