Digimon Story: Time Stranger[edit]
Lunamon is first seen in the Temple of Beginnings alongside Coronamon and Minervamon. She witnessed Yuki Dan/Kanan stopping the Aegiochusmon: Dark shadow from destroying Aegiomon's Digitama, and when it entered the human world, she and her siblings called them "egg thief".
Yuki, Misono Inori and Aegiomon meet her again in Central Town for intel on Minervamon's whereabouts, as a Knightmon standing next to Mercurymon's room will not let them meet him unless if they bring Minervamon with them. Coincidentally, Coronamon and Bearmon (Older Brother) sneaked into the sewers where no Digimon is supposed to enter on their own, and Lunamon asked them to get her brother back. Lunamon's request allowed the party to meet Minervamon again and bring her in tow to have an audience with Mercurymon.
In a sidequest line, Lunamon tried to stop Coronamon from going to the Cosmic Area to train because of the harsh climate, but Yuki upgraded Blimpmon with a cooler and allowed him to go to Heat Cosmic anyways. Frustrated, Lunamon asks them to bring her a heater to Chill Cosmic so she could follow him. Yuki successfully secures the heater and brings it to Nanomon of the Factorial Area to be repaired, allowing her to go to Chill Cosmic as well.
8 years later, Lunamon evolved into the towering Dianamon and became the ruler of Chill Cosmic. However, her relationship with Coronamon, now Apollomon became strained courtesy of Chronomon's machinations. Unlike most of the other Apostles of Iliad, Dianamon and Apollomon did not meet tragic fates and were in fact, preparing to fight the Titans, but they were left unable to intervene against the Shinjuku Inferno as they were stuck infighting. Their feud was further exacerbated by a Pumpmon supposedly acting as liaison between them; Pumpmon destroyed the letters Dianamon sent to Apollomon and spread rumors of Apollomon siding with the Titans.
At one point, Dianamon was providing Digimon for D-SAT to experiment on and taught them how to extract their Digicores. In actuality, she was manipulated by Chronomon using Junomon as a vessel to carry out his schemes and was only told that the Digimon were being sent to the human world as emissaries to mend human-Digimon relations. When she found out what actually happened, she asked Minervamon for help only for Junomon to find out and incarcerate her.
After Yuki saves Vulcanusmon, Shiroki Asuna interrogated Kuga Toya and found out that he was being provided Digimon test subjects by Dianamon. Hearing this, Yuki goes to the Cosmic Area to confront Dianamon in "Fire and Ice at War", but Pumpmon approaches them and informs them that Dianamon's heart is now shut and Apollomon is easier to convince. After defeating and convincing Apollomon, he goes into a rampage across Chill Cosmic, injuring many of its residents and making a beeline towards Dianamon's throne. The Agent and Pumpmon then find Apollomon arguing with Dianamon. Apollomon confronts Dianamon over the rumour of her handing over Digimon to humans but Dianamon ignores it completely, instead complaining about Apollomon's lack of regard to anyone else's feelings, especially her own, despite being useless on his own. Apollomon takes the criticism poorly, reminding Dianamon that she always treated him like he was incompetent. In anger, Apollomon drops his attempt of making up and decides to fight instead. There, Apollomon asks one last time why she changed so much but Dianamon is unable to answer him, complaining about how he had been at her side all the time yet never noticed and it was now too late to admit how she wanted him to notice her.
Dianamon is a boss in "Fire and Ice at War". Apart from normal attacks, she can use Hydro Water III, Frozen Bullet III, Lethal Blizzard III, Attack Break, Mental Break, Attack Reflect, Magic Reflect, Good Night Moon and Arrow of Artermis. At some point, she'll use "Sweet dreams..." (Deep Sleep to the entire party) then start charging power. At this point, Dianamon & the Goodnight Sisters becomes targettable. If the entire party is put to sleep any time in this battle, Pumpmon will use Mediator to free up one Digimon on the next turn (so the player still has a chance to fight back or remove the condition from their other Digimon). If not stopped in time, Dianamon will use a powered-up version of Arrow of Artermis that deals significantly higher damage to the entire party. If stopped, she'll lose her next turn due to shock and her permanent buffs.
As Dianamon opens the fight putting Digimon to sleep, and will also do so before her strongest move, it's recommended to have every Digimon equipped with a Sleep Wall II (nullifies Sleep/Deep Slumber) and/or a Multi Wall (nullifies all status conditions).
Dianamon is doubly weak to Wind, weak to Fire, resists Water and blocks Ice (unlike the playable version, her Wind and Fire weaknesses are swapped). Dianamon & the Goodnight Sisters is weak to Electricity and Dark. She is affected by Confusion and its advanced Chaos counterpart.
After defeating Dianamon, Apollomon apologizes for not realizing Dianamon was suffering sooner despite being her family. Dianamon then tells the party that Junomon told her to send Digimon to the human world as envoys so humans could understand them better and she was fully unaware of what was happening to them. Furthermore, she asked Minervamon for help but she never returned, causing Dianamon to lose sight of who was really on her side, even seeing Apollomon as an enemy. Dianamon asks for Apollomon's forgiveness but Apollomon blames himself. Apollomon then proposes they both go to question Junomon together. To do so, both join the Agent's party:
- Apollomon is a level 55 Digimon with the Wolkenapalm III, Attack Field, Magic Field and Saint Knuckle III Attachment Skills.
- Dianamon is a level 47 Digimon with no Attachment Skills.
At this time, Pumpmon reveals himself to be a traitor serving Chronomon and Junomon, now in Hysteric Mode, uses Lingrudge and imprisons the trio. They were freed when a group of Titans under Plutomon's orders destroyed the prison bars of the cell they are in. Dianamon and Apollomon then split ways with Yuki to try freeing Minervamon.
After saving all of other prisoners and parting ways with the Titans, Yuki found out that Minervamon is still imprisoned. Apollomon and Dianamon combined their powers to destroy the prison cell and free her. With Minervamon freed, they leave Junomon to her and Yuki.
Apollomon and Dianamon were present in the Olympos XII gathering and became one of its members. After that, they were ordered by Jupitermon to intervene in the Shinjuku Inferno so the clash between him and the Giant Slayer will not destroy the world. Apollomon and Dianamon Jogress Evolve into Grace Novamon and create a subspace for Jupitermon: Wrath Mode to clash with the Giant Slayer without affecting Shinjuku. After the battle, Grace Novamon splits back into Apollomon and Dianamon and asks if Misono Inori was related with them.
Minervamon, Apollomon and Dianamon crossed through Junomon's gate before the Agent did in "The Final Battle over the Natural Order". As such, they met in the area past that gate in the Akashic Records, Akashic Ragnarok. There, the trio kept fighting endless Megadramon copies coming from a hole, proof that the Akashic Records had to be close. Minervamon ordered the duo to charge up their power and blow away the hole while the rest bought them time. She then acknowledged both of them had surpassed her already so no one else but them could do it. There, the Agent has to play a minigame where they must prevent Digimon coming out from the wormhole from approaching Apollomon and Dianamon to buy them time. However, as soon as both had their attacks nearly ready, the group heard the roaring of a motorbike. Beelzebumon riding Behemoth then came out of the hole. The appearance of one of the Seven Great Demon Lords scared Apollomon and Dianamon but Minervamon told them to keep charging up as they could take care of a copy.
With Beelzebumon out of the way, Dianamon and Apollomon let loose their Arrow of Artemis and Phoebus Blow attacks, which destroyed the hole and opened the path forward. Dianamon was surprised at how strong they were and regretted not honing her skills further earlier, though as Apollomon pointed out, it wasn't late to do so as they still had to take down Chronomon. They both thanked Minervamon for getting them that far and swore to fight for her to repay her. Minervamon felt ambivalent about it, however, and told the Agent to prepare for the final battle while the trio protected the gate.
The Apostles of Iliad later united on Ceresmon's back. There, Apollomon reminsced about how his relationship with the Agent started when they met at the temple and Apollomon called them an egg thief. Dianamon pointed out they were there because the Agent had answered her call for help. They both defended the bond between the three, which guided them and gave them hope, and refused to accept it as just a part of Chronomon's plot. That gave them the determination to stop Chronomon with their own hands.
After Chronomon devolved the Agent's Digimon to the Baby I Generation with Chrono Devolution and Aegiomon realized he could use the same power to bring them back, Apollomon and Dianamon joined the fight. They lent their power to the Agent, as did Ceresmon Medium despite not joining the fight personally. During the fight, Dianamon can use Guard Field, Holy Light III, Arrow of Artemis and X-Revive. If Aegiomon were to be knocked out during this phase, Dianamon will automatically revive him with X-Revive as soon as she gets her turn, likely to prevent a softlock in case if he gets knocked out and none of the Agent's Digimon have a revive skill at hand.
After Aegiomon managed to get all of the Agent's Digimon back to their proper Generation with his Aegiomon no Inori, Chronomon shot the party with Nikumishi Unmei. Apollomon and Dianamon shielded and tried to stop the beam but were pushed back until Minervamon, riding Ceresmon, appeared. Ceresmon tackled Chronomon, stopping his attack, then Minervamon jumped down and apologized for making Apollomon and Dianamon work so hard, blaming herself as a terrible sister for it. Apollomon and Dianamon, wounded and tired, then apologized to her for being unable to fight any further, but Minervamon merely told them she was proud of them and would take over from there. Apollomon and Dianamon entrusted the last of their strength to their sister and left, who herself then gave it to the Agent for their final battle and rejoined the fight.
After lowering Chronomon's HP to 0, Mervamon entrusted the Agent with her power. Now having the power of all the Apostles of Iliad and Plutomon, the Agent was able to use it in a X-Arts that released copies of all of them from the Digivice, who then combined their power. The Agent and Aegiomon fused together into Jupitermon once more and absorbed said power, then threw it in Jupitermon's hammer to Chronomon, finally deleting it.
After the fight, Ceresmon brought the Apostles of Iliad back to the proper Iliad. Jupitermon then swore to protect the world alongside them and gave them the name Olympos XII.
