Profile[edit]

Mercurymon is a massive, humanoid Digimon who is the guardian and ace defender of the Central Town district of the Digital World. Before becoming mayor of Central Town, he was a wanderer who roamed Iliad. Agile and powerful, he is admired by all of the Digimon in the town, many who joined him to defend it from the Titans out of loyalty and admiration. It is said that as long as Mercurymon is in charge of the town's defenses, its residents will be safe from the Titan attacks.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger[edit]

When Yuki Dan/Yuki Kanan, Misono Inori and Aegiomon were lost in the Digital World, they were asked by Coronamon and Lunamon to find Mercurymon for help. However, they are not allowed to meet him unless they also have Minervamon in tow, which they manage to regroup with when fighting several Titans. He tells the party that they have to find Junomon since she is the one maintaining the gates between the human and Digimon worlds. However, they will first have to take out the Titans attacking Central Tower so they can contact her. When fighting a Titan Parrotmon, Mercurymon appears to aid the party and Minervamon in defeating it. Mercurymon enters the field Reversed and will spend nearly all of his turns using Thousand Fist. Very rarely, he will use normal attacks.

They then notice that the Factorial Area which supplies the power for the Locomon rail was also under attack, which prevented them from entering the Guardian Palace to meet Junomon. It was revealed that Vulcanusmon shut down the power supply on purpose to prevent the Titans from abusing it. After the party defeats Vulcanusmon and convinced him to re-enable the power supply, the party takes the Locomon Rail to meet Junomon.

Some time after Titamon was killed in the human world, Mercurymon was shot in the foot with a poisoned arrow and Central Town was taken over by Titans. The original residents of Central Town moved to the human world under the ruins of the Government Building, and built a settlement there known as Rebellion Village. Mercurymon is left in an ailing state and is no longer able to fight effectively and was forced to find ways to negotiate with the Titans for land. This results in some of the residents of Central Town being unamused and seeking to go to war with the Titans regardless of cost. Eventually, the Digimon decided to preemptively strike at the Titans on their own to retake their homeland (and potentially fight them in the human world as well) despite Mercurymon's pleas, forcing him to join the war. The war between the Central Town Digimon, the Titans and Digimon quickly turned into a horrible three-way war with disastrous consequences, and amidst of it he sacrificed himself to protect his comrades shortly prior to the Shinjuku Inferno. Mercurymon's death is a part of Chronomon's design so Aegiomon cannot be prevented from colliding with the Giant Slayer.

Following Inori's disappearance into a space-time rift and Aegiomon going insane trying to find her, Yuki was the only one left to save the rest of the Apostles of Iliad. They travel back in time to warn Mercurymon not to start the war to reclaim Central Town until Venusmon hands him the cure. They managed to stall enough time until Venusmon comes back with a Karpos Hulē fruit from the sprout that was Sirenmon to remove the poison in Mercurymon's body. Now ready, Yuki and Mercurymon team up to reclaim Central Town.

Mercurymon splits up with Yuki and regroups with them after all three Titan crime lords were defeated. Upon regrouping, they encounter Chronomon taking the form of Cherubimon (Vice). Chronomon tells them that all is according to plan (for him to be replaced) and summons a Venom Vamdemon to gauge their strength. During this fight Mercurymon can use normal attacks, Thousand Fist, Comet Hammer III and Wind Claw III. Yuki and Mercurymon defeat it and Chronomon tells them to challenge him in the Akashic Records before escaping. With the Titan leaders of Central Town all defeated, Mercurymon reclaims Central Town and all of the Titans are driven away or slain.

After reclaiming Central Town, Mercurymon tasks Yuki to negotiate with Plutomon. After saving him from ruin, Yuki reports Plutomon's condition to Mercurymon, and he sends Venusmon to heal him, and the truth of the world's history. Mercurymon was bewildered of the truth spoken by Plutomon, but did not believe that he was merely lying about it. He further addresses that saving Plutomon was no break, as the Titans are still under the mastermind's control (it was heavily implied that by this point Chronomon was already using Junomon to take control of the remaining Titans and using her powers to send them into attacking the human world regardless if Plutomon was saved or not), the mastermind also apparently took interest of an object in the human world, prompting Yuki to find Monica Simmons to stop its deployment.

In the side mission "Final Battle Challenger", Pharaohmon and Rapidmon Armor begged Mercurymon not to retreat as they longed for a place to demonstrate their strength. Rather than listen to them, Mercurymon had the Agent do it instead, so they explained to them that they were warriors on a journey in search of strength that obtained said strength by living in harsh environments and rescuing Digimon from Titan attacks, who had become friends thanks to their shared bold colours and goal. However, their fights against the Titans also made them realize they still had room to grow so they wanted to join the efforts to retake Central Town, though as Mercurymon pointed out, they never did so. Pharaohmon explained that's because they drove off other Titans that were heading into the fray and ended up too injured to join the main fight. As such, they wanted to join the ranks for the next major battle. Mercurymon found himself moved by their passion but couldn't trust two unknowns on the greatest battle that awaited them. The Agent suggested they fight in the High-Rise Colosseum which all three Digimon agreed with, though Mercurymon pointed out he couldn't participate so the Agent would fight them instead, as well as have the last word on whether they could join or not.

After the Agent defeated the two and forced them to accept them into the army, Mercurymon travelled to the Colosseum himself. Despite considering them a nuisance, he now knew they were strong enough to be relied upon.

Mercurymon tried to contact the Agent through DigiLine when they got trapped in the Akashic Maze in "The Final Battle over the Natural Order", but his messages were scrambled before reaching them. After several loops, Mercurymon's message finally got through properly, warning the Agent that they were in extremely unstable space which they needed to leave immediately. To save them, Mercurymon needed to find their location, which he could use a large source of energy, the point of distortion that connected the worlds, for. To find it, Mercurymon told the Agent to look for any discrepancies in the areas they had seen multiple times already. Said energy source turned out to be Belphemon of the Seven Great Demon Lords, which Mercurymon followed until he could join the fight against its Rage Mode. While he was surprised to face one of the Seven Great Demon Lords, he was also confident they could beat a fake like it. During the fight, Mercurymon can use Thousand Fist.

After a round, Mercurymon criticized Nanimon for refusing to help though Nanimon argued he stood no chance against such a monster and the only thing that ever got him to move was his mother smacking him. After the fight, Mercurymon pointed out even a fake Demon Lord was dangerous, then explained that the Akashic Records had altered Junomon's corridor, causing the Agent to end up in the Akashic Maze. He then cut open a portal in space with his Aztec to free them. Said portal led the group to Ceresmon's back. There, Mercurymon admitted to the Agent that fighting was their only choice even if it meant doing what Chronomon wanted. Regardless, he found the Agent's bravery worthy of him risking his life and proclaimed he'd stand by the Agent no matter what.

Mercurymon, Neptunemon and Venusmon replaced Minervamon after she got too tired to fight Chronomon, being the second wave of reinforcements the Agent got in the fight. Mercurymon put their lives on the line, Neptunemon was unwilling to let the world where they could coexist perish, and Venusmon promised to heal anyone so no one would die. During the fight, Mercurymon can use Thousand Fist.

After Chronomon went back in time and dealt a massive blow to everyone with Kontontaru Zetsubō, the wounded trio left, replaced by Bacchusmon, Marsmon and Vulcanusmon. After leaving though, Mercurymon entrusted the Agent with the power they had left, greatly increasing their CP.

After lowering Chronomon's HP to 0, Mervamon entrusted the Agent with her power. Now having the power of all the Apostles of Iliad and Plutomon, the Agent was able to use it in a X-Arts that released copies of all of them from the Digivice, who then combined their power. The Agent and Aegiomon fused together into Jupitermon once more and absorbed said power, then threw it in Jupitermon's hammer to Chronomon, finally deleting it.

After the fight, Ceresmon brought the Apostles of Iliad back to the proper Iliad. Jupitermon then swore to protect the world alongside them and gave them the name Olympos XII.
