Digimon Story: Time Stranger[edit]

The Akashic Backdoor is the lair of Parallelmon, a sinister Digimon that gained power following multiple instances of the Shinjuku Inferno. Parallelmon is active in timelines where the Shinjuku Inferno did not reset the timeline (instead leaving civilization in ruins) and has the ability to transverse through dimensions and timelines and can induce distortions on the world if left unchecked.

Usually, the Akashic Backdoor takes the form of an elegant, white mansion. However, it can also take on a multitude of forms, including locations in Shinjuku and Iliad. Flashbacks appear in the form of Akashic Debris. Feral Digimon tend to be rare Digimon that cannot be encountered or easily scanned anywhere in the game, and have accelerated respawn rates to help the player scan those Digimon.

The in-game map and Digirides are disabled throughout the Backdoor areas, and Aegiomon is not present as a controllable unit. If the Agent has to return to the Threshold Theater, they must use an Exit Ampule (given upon entering a Backdoor) that forfeits all of their progress.

If the player clears a DLC Episode, it can be replayed at almost any time during the game with all of the cutscenes, scripted encounters and completion rewards intact.
