Kunlun's symbol

Kunlun (崑崙(コンロン)[1] Konron) is the host computer that rules over Digital World: Shambala.[2] Shakamon is rumored to be the being closest to Kunlun in the Eastern Digital World.[3]

Overview[edit]

Kunlun acts as Digital World: Shambala's counterpart to Yggdrasill and Homeros. It is programmed to only interfere with the world when Shambala is in a situation where it is difficult to sustain, and is usually in a dormant state. While it does not have a fixed shape, a symbol resembling the Tai Chi diagram acts as its symbol. Its existence is only known to a select few Digimon. According to legend, it was Kunlun that ordered Susanoomon to destroy the prior system of the world and create it anew. It then went on to summon the Tentei Hachibushu who manage the world in Susanoomon's stead.[2]

Digimon Story: Time Stranger[edit]

Voice Actor: Japanese Kotomiya Ayumu | English Joshua Galvan Evans

Kunlun's avatar appears in the Threshold Theater as a boy dressed in Victorian clothing. Its emissaries are Susanoomon, Zanbamon, Musyamon and Kotemon.

While he wanted to send the Tentei Hachibushu into Iliad to help the Royal Knights and the nascent Olympos XII group, he stated that they were busy in their own homeworld and cannot come.

Trivia[edit]

  • The Kunlun (traditional Chinese: 崑崙; simplified Chinese: 昆仑; pinyin: Kūnlún; Wade–Giles: K'un-lun) or Kunlun Shan is a mountain or mountain range in Chinese mythology, an important symbol representing the axis mundi and divinity.
  • The Chinese name "Kunlun" 崑崙 (or 崐崘) is written with characters combining the "mountain radical" 山 with phonetics of kun 昆 and lun 侖. Alternate names for Kunlun shan include Kunling 崑陵 (with "hill") and Kunqiu 崑丘 (with "mound").
