Tentei Hachibushu

The Tentei Hachibushu (天帝八武衆 Tentei Hachibushū, lit. "The Eight Weaponized Warriors of the Heavenly Emperor") are a group of eight powerful Digimon who manage the Digital World: Shambala, which is a Digital World that is comprised of continents and islands adrift on the Net Ocean. They are said to have been summoned to take up legendary Susanoomon's role of protecting Shambala.

Overview

The leader of the Tentei Hachibushu, Shakamon, receives Kunlun’s revelation and relays its words to the other seven members. The eight members are stationed in separate areas of Shambala, although Shakamon is the sole exception and does not have an assigned area. Tasked with carrying out Kunlun's divine will by managing the world in place of Susanoomon, the Tentei Hachibushu act in a similar capacity to the Royal Knights and the Olympos XII in their respective worlds. However, the Tentei Hachibushu are unique in being the only Group that has its own "sub-groups", the Saneiketsu trio and the Sanmyojin trio. Of the Sanmyojin, Amaterasumon is the ruler of the sun and, due to the ornaments on its body, is rumored to have a connection with Susanoomon. Shakamon and Enmamon are unique in that they do not belong to such a sub-group, instead acting as foils to the other in certain media. Enmamon is also unique in that it is the only member that cannot reach the "surface" of Shambala, instead being constrained to the underworld, Yomi, in keeping with its own role of administrator of Yomi.

The Tentei Hachibushu are among the "strongest class" of Digimon in Shambala, although they are rivalled by Seiten Gokuwmon, a free being who is neither bound by destiny nor constraints, so Erlangmon of the Tentei Hachibushu has been keeping a close watch on its every move.

Digimon Pendulum COLOR

The Tentei Hachibushu are all available for raising on the Digimon Pendulum COLOR 6 Saiyu Warriors and 7 Toho Braves devices that represent the Digimon inhabitants of Genshi Continent and of Ashino Island, respectively. Four members can be raised on each device. Any two of the three Saneiketsu can Jogress to Shakamon on the Saiyu Warriors, while any two of the three Sanmyojin can Jogress to Enmamon on the Toho Braves. All Ultimate stage Digimon on the Saiyu Warriors can evolve to Shakamon after completing the Quest Battles, as is the case for evolving to Enmamon on the Toho Braves.

Starting with EX-12 Digital World Shambala, the Tentei Hachibushu are represented with the Tentei Hachibushu trait. This includes cards like [EX12-065 Kaguyamon] and [EX12-019 Nezhamon]. They are tied to the Saiyu Warriors and Toho Braves traits.

[EX12-075 Kunlun's Imperial Decree] represents the summoning of the Tentei Hachibushu by Kunlun to take up the role of Susanoomon in defending Digital World: Shambala.

Trivia

• Unlike other groups with similar roles, like the Royal Knights or Olympos XII, the Tentei Hachibushu are not all the same Digimon Type. Rather than all being God Man Digimon like the Olympos XII, only Amaterasumon, Erlangmon and Erlangmon: Blast Mode, plus Takutoumon and Takutoumon: Wrath Mode are God Man Digimon. In contrast, Shakamon is a Tathāgata Digimon, Nezhamon and its Crimson Mode are both Cyborg Type, Kaguyamon is a Puppet, Ryugumon is a Mollusk, and Enmamon is a Demon Lord.
