The Saneiketsu in battle.

The Saneiketsu (三英傑 San'eiketsu, lit. "The Three Excellent Heroes") are a group of three powerful masculine Digimon who protect the Genshi Continent, and also a title earned by valuing highly martial prowess in the battle. They believe the survival of the fittest is the natural order of the world in which Digimon live. They are all members of the Tentei Hachibushu.[1] They are also all members of the Saiyu Warriors Field.[2]

Overview[edit]

The Saneiketsu are composed of three members of the Tentei Hachibushu, namely Erlangmon, Takutoumon, and Nezhamon.[1]

Erlangmon acts with the conviction to rid all Digimon of their wicked hearts, and others refer to it as an upright Digimon due to the way it is honest. Also, the third eye on its forehead has the power to see through the opponent's weak spots and wicked hearts.[3] Erlangmon: Blast Mode is its awakened form, unleashing its power to the utmost limit only when eliminating enemies that it is incapable of defeating.[4] Erlangmon has also been keeping a close watch on Seiten Gokuwmon’s every move, as Seiten Gokuwmon is a Digimon of the strongest class, rivalling the Tentei Hachibushu, and is a free being who is neither bound by destiny nor constraints.[5]

Takutoumon is a hero who despises deceiving others, and uses its sword to resolve actions that deviate from the path of righteousness. It frequently imposes its own sense of justice onto others, and since it does not even make the effort to explain itself again, it often fights alone. Its treasure tool, "Bǎo Tǎ", contains data from Shakamon, leader of the Tentei Hachibushu. It is housed within the gauntlet on its left palm and it can be used to seal away the opponent's fighting spirit to make them more docile.[6] The Bǎo Tǎ has materialized into Takutoumon: Wrath Mode’s armor.[7]

Despite Nezhamon’s short appearance, it is an arrogant ruffian with a belligerent personality. Because of this, once Nezhamon starts acting violently, the only way to stop it is to get along with it in battle until it is satisfied.[8] Nezhamon: Crimson Mode is the form it takes upon realizing that it should properly utilize its power. Nonetheless, as its belligerent nature remains the same, its only weakness is that it will often try to resolve things through fighting, even if its cause is just.[9]
