Seiten Gokuwmon is a Tathāgata Digimon that evolved when Sanzomon used its sutras to elevate the bonds it had with Cho·Hakkaimon and Sagomon—whom it traveled alongside and grew up with—into a new power. Although its inherently belligerent nature remains unchanged, it is no longer as arrogant as it used to be, and has grown into a warrior who combines combat instinct with composure. Its spirit is not the only thing that has grown. The golden decorations on its back are "Kintoun", which it transforms into a thundercloud to use. The "Nyoikinkobō", which it frequently used, took in the power of its companions and, combined with Gokuwmon's abilities, was enhanced into the "Nyoitenjinbō", a weapon capable of freely changing shape that harnesses three attributes—thunder, fire, and water. Freely wielding sorcery and martial arts, it has become a powerful Digimon who is truly worthy of being called a mighty warrior. While it is a Digimon of the strongest class, rivaling the guardians of the Eastern Digital World, the Tentei Hachibushu, it is a free being who is neither bound by destiny nor constraints, so Erlangmon has been keeping a close watch on its every move. Its Special Moves are making its eyes glow with flame-like light, temporarily increasing its power (Kagan Kinsei), sending out flames from the Nyoitenjinbō and striking while preserving their power (Hakkai Entengeki), and similarly, generating a violent whirlpool to engulf the opponent (Gojō Suitensō), and transforming the Nyoitenjinbō into a bazooka, concentrating lightning, and then firing it (Chōtai Seirai Tenhō). It was created to serve as an Ultimate evolution of Gokuwmon, based on the character of Sūn Wùkōng, protagonist of the classical Chinese novel Journey to the West. Many of Seiten Gokuwmon's abilities and equipment are directly taken from those of Sun Wukong: As emphasized in its announcement in Monmon Memo!!, Seiten Gokuwmon has a golden shine. Depictions and adaptations of Sūn Wùkōng often depict him as shining gold or as having golden fur. Like Shakamon, Seiten Gokuwmon is a Tathāgata Digimon, representing it having attained enlightenment just as Sūn Wùkōng does in Journey to the West. Its Nyoitenjinbō, as an enhanced version of Gokuwmon's Nyoikinkobou, is based on and named after Sūn Wùkōng's Ruyi Jingu Bang. Like the Rúyì Jīngū Bàng (and Hanumon's Nyoi Bone and Gokuwmon’s Nyoikinkobou), the Nyoitenjinbō is capable of shrinking and expanding in size, and can now expand to the size of a cannon. Its Kintoun is named after, and based on a common depiction of, Sūn Wùkōng's ability to travel immense distances in a single somersault, specifically its common depiction as Sūn Wùkōng riding on a cloud. Like the Nyoitenjinbō, it has size-changing properties and can transform from the golden decorations on Seiten Gokuwmon's back, into an armored cloud large enough to be ridden (pictured in alternate infobox image on far right), or into a giant thundercloud. The armored cloud state of the Kintoun is part of Seiten Gokuwmon's sleeping animation in the Pendulum COLOR 6 (pictured right). When turned into the giant thundercloud, it also acts as an airship where individuals can enter through its mouth. Sūn Wùkōng's rivalry with Erlang Shen in Journey to the West is represented by Seiten Gokuwmon's rivalry with Erlangmon. Seiten Gokuwmon's arms are equipped with both effigies of, and accessories taken from the designs of, two other Digimon based on Sūn Wùkōng's traveling companions from Journey to the West: Cho·Hakkaimon on its right arm (accessory: the metal band from its gauntlets), and Sagomon on its left arm (accessory: its belt of skulls). Elements of these two Digimon's weapons—Cho·Hakkaimon’s Roketto Dīng​pá and Sagomon’s Kouyouhoujou—are also incorporated into the enlarged form of Seiten Gokuwmon's Nyoitenjinbō.
