Kishiwada Kanchi is an antagonist in Digimon Beatbreak. He is a mysterious man who was once the second-in-command of GIFT, but later worked independently with Kuroshio Souji before joining the Five Stars for a mysterious agenda. He is also the original owner for the White Core.
He was later revealed to be a disguised, rogue Sagomon, and alongside the other four Journey to the West Digimon, were actually there to sabotage and destroy the World Union to their own ends.
Profile[edit]
As one of the four disguised Journey to the West Digimon, Kanchi is capable of supernatural feats such as Cold Hearting people by flashing a mysterious light on them and controlling water. He can also overload a Digimon with e-pulse and control them, possessing similar powers to the White Core.
Personality[edit]
Kanchi is stoic and seldomly speaks. Just like his cohort Kanada Genjo, he is also manipulative and capable of complex scheming. He deems sacrificing his fellow Digimon a necessary for a greater good.

Digimon Beatbreak[edit]
Kanchi first appears in "Cold Rain" where he greets Kagemori Miharu from Fumamon's Mirror World to the GIFT Mirror World. He asked her on her whereabouts, but Miharu did not directly answer, instead telling him and Mephismon that Tenma Tomoro will come to them eventually.
He later appeared in "Behind the Mask" where he cold hearted Otsuki before Tomoro can apprehend him by flashing a light on him, seemingly across a pedestrian bridge. Later when Miharu was attacked by Rose Woodville and Brilliant Thorn, he appeared from a water cyclone, from which he knocked down Tsuwabuki Kanon's Oleamon and teleported Miharu away. Afterwards, he told Miharu that Tomoro is dangerous, but she continues to brush off his warning, believing that her goals and Tomoro's are one and the same.

Trivia[edit]
- The names of his and Cho·Hakkaimon's disguised forms are references to the actors of Saiyūki, the oldest TV Drama adaptation of Journey to the West. Specifically, Kishiwada (C和田) references Kishibe Shirō (岸部 四郎), who interpreted Sa Gojō, the character that Sagomon is based on.
- The Kishi (岸) in his surname, coincidentally, can either mean shore, coast, or banks. This relates to the water powers he possesses, as well as his true identity.
