Kagemori Miharu was a major antagonist in Digimon Beatbreak. She is the leader of a digimon-driven cult known as GIFT and the main antagonist of the titular GIFT Arc..

Profile

A young girl gifted with the talent for coding. She has a mysterious air about her, and approaches Tomoro. Her true identity is the masked streamer and mastermind behind GIFT.

Personality

Miharu is stoic and ominously calm even during tense situations, but her composure can be broken if her ideology is rejected. She believes that the world is twisted by a few and it must be corrected to the right path, and the way people treat Digimon as glitches and errors is equally distorted. She was fixated with Tenma Tomoro as she believed that he shared the same goals, and later came to genuinely admire him as a person.

She looks up to her her elder sister and sole caretaker, Kagemori Chifuyu, referring to her as being "as warm as the sun". In fact, her entire motivation of forming GIFT was motivated by revenge against the World Union for causing Chifuyu's suicidal depression and eventual death.

She claims that she sees the world as code, although it is unclear if it is a metaphor or literal.

At the end of the GIFT arc, she realizes the sheer gravitas of her crimes and that Chifuyu did not want to see the world destroyed for the freedom of Digimon, and breaks down in tears. Afterwards, she atones for her own crimes by letting herself to be arrested and later assists Tomoro's grandfather, Tenma Tasuku in protecting the Ministry of Civil Protection from the Shangri-La Project and helps his grandson Tomoro infiltrate Apraxas.

Digimon Beatbreak

Most of Miharu's past prior to forming GIFT is unknown, but she and her sister Kagemori Chifuyu lost their parents since some time ago and the latter was always her caretaker. Miharu was a programming prodigy whose first program was a program that shared the same name as the cult that only said "hello" to a random person in the world once per day.

One day, Chifuyu introduced her to the Mirror World and also introduced her to Wizarmon, a Digimon that was born from her experimental model Sapotama, who used its magic to create a bed of flowers to the sister's delight. Chifuyu then announced her plans to ask the World Union to announce the existence of Digimon. Unfortunately, it went awry when the World Union confiscated Wizarmon as usual. Afterwards, Chifuyu succumbed to depression and refused to wake up, eventually telling Miharu to buy dinner for her. On the way out, she ran into Wizarmon, who was in a near-death state. Miharu managed to rejuvenate it with her e-Pulse, but when she came back, Chifuyu committed suicide by poison. Broken by grief and despair, Miharu's dark-e Pulse evolved Wizarmon into Mephismon and she descended into madness, eventually forming the GIFT cult in an attempt to devastate the World Union through terrorist attacks. Through unknown means, she amassed a massive, seemingly brainwashed base of cultists, including other Digimon Owners and civilians, and even several independent rogue Digimon under her beck and call.

Tenma Tomoro first meets Miharu while visiting Asuka's lifeless body in the World Union general hospital. She explains her ideals and warns him to leave the hospital right away (likely because one of her fellow cultists was already there launching an attack). She observed the fight between Glowing Dawn and the GIFT cultist, and after the latter's defeat and arrest, asks Tomoro if he was really okay with "this".

Miharu returned in Episode 32 where she spied on the fight between Glowing Dawn and Fumamon. Seeing his actions, she was convinced that she could recruit Tomoro to her side. When she returned to her mirror world, her aide Kishiwada Kanchi asked her on her whereabouts. She did not directly answer, but only reassured Mephismon that Tomoro will be on their side soon.

Following the Oblivimon incident in Episode 34, she met Tomoro again when he was taking care of Asuka's body. Tomoro told her about Asuka and Miharu in exchange, told him about her elder sister, whom she describes as being "as warm as the sun itself." Tomoro was then called off to monitor Otsuki, cult member Yao's accomplice with the rest of Glowing Dawn to find a lead on GIFT. However, Kishiwada Kanchi Cold Hearted him by flashing a bright light so Miharu can convey a message to him. Across Otsuki's Sapotama, Miharu asks him to meet her alone at the Arcade Street at 7:00 PM in hopes of recruiting him. There, she reveals her identity as GIFT's leader to Tomoro and almost managed to convince him into joining her, only for Brilliant Thorn to intervene and attack her. Tomoro, in response, clashes with them to defend her from harm. Rose Woodville and the rest of Glowing Dawn followed suit and the two cleaner teams clashed with each other to a stalemate. Miharu takes advantage of the commotion to leave with Oleamon noticing and trying to ambush her from behind, but Kanchi appeared to save Miharu, using Kouyouhoujou: Taki no Jin to knock Oleamon down with a pillar of water and harboring Miharu back to safety. Afterwards, Kanchi warns Miharu of the dangers of Tomoro, but she ignores him and reassures that she will bring Tomoro to her side.

The final attack orchestrated by GIFT occurred in the power plant, where a cultist with a Bombermon was dispatched to try destroying it. The attack was foiled by Glowing Dawn, but in actuality, it was a distraction; GIFT actually planned to capture Chairman Wong, which they are able to do so by planting landmines on a detour next to the power plant. With Chairman Wong on her hands, Miharu initiated a special broadcast known as "GIFT from Chairman Wong", where she would force him to disclose the true identities of the Digimon and announce his crimes against Digimon to the public, a twisted version of the dream that Chifuyu died for. Glowing Dawn was notified by Kuonji Tsukasa about this and rushed to intervene. Rose and Brilliant Thorn also followed suit, being the only ones who responded to a World Union emergency request to save him (Kaito and Honoka also received an alert, but did not respond). Back in GIFT headquarters, Miharu threatens Wong to admit his crimes, but he is resolute and refuses.

Meanwhile Tomoro was instructed by Miharu to go to her old apartment. Once there, Mephismon whisks Tomoro away to the same flower bed it created in the Mirror World when it was still a Wizarmon. Tomoro questions why she kidnapped somebody, but she refuses to answer and continues trying to make Tomoro join her. Tomoro seemingly finally agrees, but then sternly tells her that she is wrong. Brilliant Thorn and the rest of Glowing Dawn then appeared to intervene and briefly fought each other before Mephismon appeared and told her that her goal is to bring freedom for Digimon and bliss for people. Believing that Mephismon was controlling Miharu, Tomoro evolves Gekkomon into Monarch Lizamon to fight it, but it escapes with Miharu, Tomoro and Monarch Lizamon follow them, eventually coming into contact with Miharu's mindscape and learning of her tragic past. Miharu is still determined to let her sister's vision come through in the most distorted way however, and frees Tomoro's hand while escaping to GIFT HQ to start the stream.

Once returning back to HQ, Miharu sends a worldwide broadcast across the entire world forcing Chairman Wong to admit his crimes. However, it went to an abrupt end when Rose and Glowing Dawn intervened. As a backup plan, Miharu unleashes her secret weapon through her Sapotama; "GIFTED", a cybervirus powered by Mephismon's magic to completely disable the defenses of the Hikarigahama Shangri-La Egg, effectively using the lives of civilians as hostage if Chairman Wong does not speak up. Despite the threats, Wong refuses to back down and merely says that the Digimon are glitches and had to be removed. Tomoro reprimands Miharu of her insanity and Mehpismon rushes in to silence him by grabbing his body, but Monarch Lizamon frees him. At this point, the White Core implanted on Mephismon activates in response to Miharu's strong emotions, which caused it to grow to a giant size. Tomoro tells her to stop, but Miharu, now breaking down in anger and grief, screams at Tomoro that this is exactly what Chifuyu wanted. Tomoro continues reprimanding her that her sister will not want to see tens of thousands of people suffering with her actions. Afterwards, Mephismon tells the truth; that all that happened is not what Chifuyu wanted; but rather, from Miharu herself. It then absorbs Miharu, grows to an absolutely gigantic size and goes berserk. From within, Miharu realizes the errors of her ways and binds Mephismon with lines of code, allowing Monarch Lizamon and Tomoro to enter it through Annihilate Edge and convince her the error of her ways. She tearfully realized that the mass suffering of others is all her fault rather than what Chifuyu wanted, and asks Tomoro to stop Mephismon once and for all, which he promptly does by ordering Monarch Lizamon to use Final Judgement to slice it in half and revert it back to its Mokumon form.

All Sapotamas and all systems of the Hikarigahama Shangri-La Egg are restored to their normal functionalities following the incident, and Miharu's final stream was covered up as a Sapotama OS update.

After returning back to the real world, Miharu bids farewell to Tomoro and submits herself to be arrested by the Ministry of Civil Protection. With the absence of their leader, GIFT was disbanded and Kanchi leaves to further his own designs with the White Core.

Episode 46 reveals that Miharu is still under MCP protection and is now working with Dr. Tenma Tasuku to invent a spray that would disconnect a person from their Sapotama, which prevents the Shangri-La Project from culling them. Both Dr. Tenma and Miharu sealed their Sapotama chips away with it, and they hastily seal Maki's as well, leaving only one use left. Kawarazaki tasks Dr. Tenma and Miharu one last mission to deliver the spray to Tomoro so he could save his grandson and was Cold Hearted himself. Following the failed Nirinso raid from the World Union, they hand Tomoro the final use of the spray required to save him.

During Glowing Dawn and Tactics Team 7's raid on Apraxas, Miharu hacks its gates to make sure it opens. When it tightened the security, Chihiro's Algomon (Baby I) disabled its security systems entirely and let Tomoro go confront Chairman Wong and Kanada Genjo for a final confrontation.
