Sorry for our appearance, but this article currently needs a lot of work.

Nirinso (ニリンソウ, Nirinsō) is a key location in Digimon Beatbreak.

Description[edit]

Nirinso is an abandoned observatory located in a forest of Mount Aihoshi at the outskirts of Hikarigahama. It was repurposed by Sawashiro Kyo as a safe haven with a playroom under its dome for the Baby I Digimon caught by Glowing Dawn through the series's run.

The graves of Kyo's former family, the original inhabitants of the old Nirinso, can be found in its vicinity.

The whole structure and its surrounding terrain are hidden from outsiders by cloaking devices created by Yoshimura[1]. It seems like a sufficiently powerful Digimon can still locate and directly attack it, however[2].

Digimon Beatbreak[edit]

Originally serving as a university facility on Mount Aihoshi, Nirinso was abandoned after the Kano Island Incident. The structure would be used sometime later as a shelter by Minoru, a former worker of the site, his adopted daughter Karina, and a small group of Baby I Digimon and a Luxmon that got there not long after them.[3]

Around 6 years prior to the start of the series, Sawashiro Kyo, the infamously brutal ex-Star of Gold was heavily injured during a mission and dropped right there from the Mirror World, where he was nursed back to full health by its owners. The cold-hearted killer Kyo initially did not care about it or its inhabitants, but they managed to get him to warm up and form a familial bond with them. Karina eventually convinced him to stay there and live with him as much as he wants to, which he agreed. The three lived for around a year before tragedy struck.

A year later, the World Union noticed that Kyo was missing for that amount of time and ordered Kuroshio Souji to find him. Souji managed to locate an approximation to where Kyo was living in and went on to kill anyone he found on his way there in cold blood, those killed being the inhabitants of Nirinso. Upon witnessing the aftermath of the incident, Kyo became enraged and deleted the Piranimon Souji used in the massacre and tried to kill him by pushing him off a waterfall. In actuality, Souji survived and escaped only to be arrested after another murder case. Heartbroken, Kyo tearfully vowed not to delete another Digimon again and wandered despondently for a while until he officially announced his resignation in front of Kutsuna Kaito during an e-Pulse draining incident involving Tenma Asuka. He then returned to the abandoned observatory, repurposed it, and hid it with help from Garando, a broker group. Digimon that Glowing Dawn defeat are transferred there and were falsely reported as being deleted to receive the bounty. Kyo mostly fed the Digimon with his own e-Pulse, often resulting in parts of his body being frozen over.
