Karina is a minor character in Digimon Beatbreak. She was a friend of Sawashiro Kyo in the past before she was brutally murdered by Kuroshio Souji.

Kyo's former family. A cheerful and carefree girl who laughs without a care in the world. After losing her parents, she was taken in by Minoru and lives with Luxmon and the others at Nirinsou.

Digimon Beatbreak[edit]
Her parents died during the Kano Island Incident and she was adopted by Minoru. The two lived with a Luxmon and several other Baby-level Digimon at the old Nirinsou site at Mount Aihoshi.
One day, Sawashiro Kyo was injured in a mission and fell next to the Nirinso site where Karina and Minoru are living in. They discovered him and nursed him back to health. Initially Kyo was cold as he was and didn't care, but he eventually opened up to them and when Karina told that he could live with them for as long as he wished to on one night, he accepted. Kyo eventually made a familial-esque bond with them and lived with them for around a year.
Happy times did not last however, as one day, the World Union noticed that Kyo has disappeared and asked Kuroshio Souji to find him. Souji made his way to the old Nirinso site and brutally killed all of its residents bar Kyo. When he heard the commotion and rushed to check, he saw Karina's half-dying body on the river, who only warned him to "run" before losing her life entirely. Angered, Kyo goes to confront Souji near a waterfall and brutally deletes his Piranimon with Murasamemon before pushing him off the waterfall trying to kill him.
In actuality, Souji survived and was eventually arrested following another murder case.
At the aftermath of the incident, a heartbroken Kyo left the Five Stars and vowed to never delete another Digimon again. The traumatic experience on that day also motivated him to create a new Nirinso with the cooperation of other organizations, complete with similar features as the old one to fulfill Karina and Minoru's lost dream.
