Chairman Wong was one of the main antagonists in Digimon Beatbreak.

Personality[edit]
Chairman Wong initially seems to be reasonable, but later exposes himself as a narcissistic, power hungry megalomaniac with a god complex, although publicly, he hides his true motives using the pretext of the threat posed by Digimon against humanity. He is obsessed with the concept of power and is willing to hunt down anyone who dares speak against him, as shown with his former colleague Tenma Tasuku and his family when they spoke against his advocation of the commercial use of e-pulse, completely ignoring the potential dangers it might cause. After establishing the Shangri-La Project which allowed him to silence nearly anyone, Wong assumes himself as a god and has a tendency to cackle madly while going into delusional ramblings upon being questioned. His desire for power was ironically put to an end by Kanada Genjo, the saboteur he mistook to be loyal to him.

Digimon Beatbreak[edit]
21 years ago, Chairman Wong was the owner of the Kano Island research facility, where refugees from across the world were subjected to e-pulse experiments. However, all of the Digimon in the facility went berserk, merged into a single giant being, exploded and destroyed the island, causing tectonic shifts and tidal waves that caused 1.3 million deaths. Chairman Wong witnessed the Digimon alongside Tenma Tomoro's grandfather, Tenma Tasuku, and was stunned and amazed by its power. In the present day, he runs the World Union, the world's largest company responsible for the manufacturing of Sapotamas and the eventual Shangri-La Project. After Sawashiro Kyo's leave, Kanada Genjo of the Five Stars directly works for him.
Some time after the Kano incident, Dr. Tenma protested against Wong over the commercial use of e-Pulse alongside Tenma Tomoro and Tenma Asuka's parents. As a result, Wong tried to hunt him down and got their parents arrested. However, Dr. Tenma evaded capture and was put under protection under the Ministry of Civil Protection.
Chairman Wong first appeared in Episode 13 where he hosted a meeting between the Five Stars. However, the cleaners were largely uncooperative and he had to reprimand them to stop arguing with each other. At the end of the meeting, he tells them that the Shangri-La Project will only be achieved with the cooperating of all of the Five Stars. When Klay Arslan's illegal businesses and his attempted coup d'etat were exposed by Genjo, he removed him from the group and declared him a fugitive.
At the end of the GIFT Arc, Wong was caught in a terrorist attack where an attack in the power plant forced him to take a detour, of which several landmines are planted so that GIFT could capture him. Once the cult had Wong in their hands, Miharu forces him to speak about the truth of Digimon. Wong was resolute and refuses to speak up however, so Miharu launches the Digimon virus "GIFTED" on the Hikarugahama East Shangri-La Egg to use its citizens as hostages, cutting off all electricity from the egg and forcing its citizens to potentially suffocate to death unless if he does. This was thwarted after Glowing Dawn and Brilliant Thorn team up to defeat Mephismon.
Following this incident, Wong focused on efforts to work on the Shangri-La Project. Kishiwada Kanchi, having been collected enough black e-Pulse from Souji, hands the White Core over to him in exchange for a place in the Five Stars. Wong accepts his offer and reassures a doubting Genjo that if any problems arise, he trusts him to take care of the newcomer. Nishino Senka then infiltrated the hospital where Asuka was at, and handed his body over to him. With all the pieces gathered, they were able to recover him from Cold Heart using the dark e-Pulse from the White Core, turning Asuka and his partner Digimon, Helios Boamon into a puppet under his control. When Golden Dawn tried to save Asuka, he orders Sakai Honoka, Kutsuna Kaito and Kanchi to stop them. The operation to save Asuka ended up in failure as Genjo had Helios Boamon evolve into its Ultimate form; Albatusmon and completely cripples Kyo through Gokuwmon. With Albatusmon in his hand, Chairman Wong officially starts the Shangri-La Project.
In Episode 46, Wong makes a live broadcast across all of Japan announcing the beginning of the Shangri-La Project, where all Sapotamas in the world are linked to Albatusmon following a forced update. Supposedly, this is to prevent the rise of dangerous Digimon; in actuality, he wants to become a god with the entire world under his control. Having Albatusmon in his hand means that he could essentially cull not just people who have the potential of creating a Digimon, but also those who speak against him. As Digimon Owners (as well as any already pre-existing independent Digimon) are unaffected, he orders Rose Woodville to kill all other Cleaners. She refuses out of disgust and resigns from the World Union, with Kaito and Honoka apparently meeting her prior and decided to quit as well.
When Glowing Dawn and Tactics Team 7 goes to confront Wong and Genjo in Apraxas the following night, Wong orders his remaining men to stop them, leaving only Tomoro to confront Genjo and Gokuwmon as he observes them fight while rambling about his megalomaniacal desires and scoffs off at Tomoro's failed attempt to save Asuka.
Things took a turn for the worst however, when Senka ambushes Tomoro and drains nearly all of his e-pulse and renders him nearly lifeless, shocking Wong. He questions Genjo how did she even pull out such a feat, but he ignores him completely and tosses Tomoro's Sapotama to Asuka so he could inject his dark e-Pulse into Gekkomon, but instead, Gekkomon's failure to protect Tomoro caused him to evolve into Atratusmon on his own volition, much to Genjo's surprise. He then orders Asuka to break Wong's hold on Albatusmon, ending the Shangri-La Project once and for all. Turns out that Wong has effectively surrounded himself with saboteurs that are there use him for their own ends, and Genjo, Kanchi and Senka were actually respectively Sanzomon, Sagomon and Cho Hakkaimon in disguise. Wong has ran out of use for the Digimon at this point, so Sanzomon Cold Hearts Wong with a kiss before preparing for a final rampage on the human world.
