It is said that when the laws of the world become unbalanced, the seal will be broken and it will manifest. Atratusmon's black, hooded cape is a restraining device that suppresses its power, and while wearing this cape, that power is suppressed. It regains its original strength by unfastening the cape, but since this fully unleashes its power of "Emanation", it will keep releasing its energy if it continues to act while the cape is unfastened. For that reason, it is said that after exhausting all of its energy in a relatively short period of time, Atratusmon will disappear. It is able to get a supply of energy by acting alongside a Digimon that wields the opposing power of "Absorption", and continuously displays its full power without disappearing. It engages in battle by summoning its giant hammer "Inquisitor" from another dimension after opening a rift in space, and enveloping it with an aura of its own energy. Its Special Move is channeling its aura into Inquisitor to the utmost limit and then striking the opponent (Eclipse Impact). While the cape is unfastened, Eclipse Impact combines the mass of the hammer with Atratusmon's physical strength and the energy of the aura, resulting in it being powerful enough to vaporize the target and everything around it in an instant. When facing distant enemies, it attacks with its "Void Cannon", in which it opens a rift in space in front of its palm and fires crescent-shaped shots of light summoned from another dimension. While the cape is unfastened, Void Cannon has an extremely high firing rate, making it difficult to dodge every shot. These two halves act as counterparts to each other, with Atratusmon representing "Emanation", is clothed in black armor and a black cloak, and features a moon motif; Albatusmon represents "Absorption", is clothed in white armor and a while cloak, and features a sun motif. The two are also nearly identical in design outside of the above differences. When the two fuse into their original form, Volvemon generates various kinds of environmental cycles, such as the day-and-night cycle, in the Digital World by absorbing and emanating data. The moon motif of Atratusmon is also present in the designs of Kekkomon, Gekkomon, Monarch Lizamon, and Volvemon, all forms of Gekkomon in Digimon Beatbreak. Atratusmon, as the Ultimate form of the Digimon protagonist of the tenth Digimon TV anime series, bears resemblance to the anime protagonist Ultimates of past series, much in the same way Monarch Lizamon homages various Perfect-level protagonist Digimon. Atratusmon is a humanoid, dragon warrior Digimon, which is a general design concept that can be traced as far back as War Greymon from Digimon Adventure to as recently as the ninth and previous anime series, Digimon Ghost Game, which featured Siriusmon. Atratusmon also resembles a knight, complete with a cape and a visor, like Dukemon of Digimon Tamers. Atratusmon and Shine Greymon are among the only two of these anime protagonist Digimon to feature a tail in their standard Ultimate forms, and the two summon weapons in a similar manner (the Inquisitor in Atratusmon's case and the Geo Grey Sword in Shine Greymon's case). In contrast to many of these past Digimon, Atratusmon is associated with the moon with a counterpart in Albatusmon representing the sun, while Digimon like War Greymon and Shine Greymon are associated with the sun and feature counterparts (Metal Garurumon and Mirage Gaogamon, respectively) who are instead associated with the moon.
