Tenma Asuka is a character in Digimon Beatbreak. He spends most of the series frozen in Cold Heart. Near the end of the series, he was controlled and used as a puppet by the World Union.

Tomoro's older brother. He looks after his younger brother, whom he cares for very much. He was formerly in a band.

Asuka was childhood friends with Sawashiro Kyo, who befriended each other in the Sakura Orphanage his grandfather Dr. Tenma Tasuku ran for victims of the Kano Island Incident. When the two boys had access to their own Sapotamas, Dr. Tenma warns them not to overuse these items because of their potential dangers. One day, the children in the orphanage began violently bullying Asuka and Kyo was outnumbered, resulting in his Sapotama malfunctioning and manifesting Cougarmon from within to drive away the bullies. Afterwards, the Ministry of Civil Protection forced him to become a Cleaner in exchange for Cougarmon not being deleted.

Around a decade later, the Tenma family protested against Chairman Wong's advocation for commercial usage of e-Pulse, deeming it too dangerous. As a result, Dr. Tenma and the Tenma sibling's parents were arrested by the Ministry of Civil Protection for dissent; in actuality, the Ministry of Civil Protection was protecting Dr. Tenma from being hunted down by the World Union and lied to everyone that he was dead. Afterwards, Asuka's Sapotama gave birth to Helios Boamon and he escaped all the way to the Sakura Orphanage's old site, where he met a wandering Kyo and told him about Tenma Tomoro, his family's whereabouts, and Helios Boamon.

On one night, Tomoro was attacked by a e-Pulse thief named Miyama, who attacked him to extract his e-Pulse for his Kuwagamon. Helios Boamon then appeared independently to attack it, forcing him to release Tomoro. When Kyo asked him about why did he attack Tomoro, Miyama and his Kuwagamon responded that he only wanted to drain his e-pulse for his Kuwagamon to become stronger. Out of anger, Asuka had Helios Boamon evolve into Albatusmon, who rapidly drains the e-pulse of anything around the vicinity. Hearing about a mass e-Pulse draining incident, the World Union asked Kutsuna Kaito to intervene. Kaito's Flaremon and Murasamemon team up to devolve Albatusmon back to Helios Boamon and deleted Miyama's Kuwagamon. Kaito tries to delete Helios Boamon too, only for Kyo to stop him and announce his official resignation from the Five Stars, which led to a duel between Flaremon and Murasamemon that the former won. After that duel, to prevent damaging more people, Helios Boamon transformed themselves into the White Core.

At the start of the season, Asuka was Cold Hearted alongside Shinomiya Hitomi after being attacked by a pair of Hyemon and having their e-pulse absorbed by them. Asuka's e-pulse was originally held by Hyemon Earring, but the World Union somehow managed to locate his Sapotama through the Digimon and had Gokuwmon kill it and harvest the Sapotama from it. For most of the show, his e-Pulse and Sapotama was kept by Gokwmon's owner, Kanada Genjo, who kept it for later use. Asuka also narrates the opening monologue at the start of each episode.

In "Proof of Genius", Genjo, through Gokuwmon, used Asuka's e-pulse as bait for Tomoro as a part of his plan to sell Klay Arslan out, resulting in Tomoro being thrown into his colosseum as a participant. This serves to bait the rest Glowing Dawn out too so they will sack it for Tomoro's sake.

Near the end of the season, Asuka's body was transferred out of hospital to the hands of Chairman Wong by Nishino Senka, who infiltrated the hospital masquerading as a nurse. With Kishiwada Kanchi gaining the White Core as well, the World Union recovers Asuka and Helios Boamon and puts them under Genjo's control. Genjo then ordered the brainwashed Asuka to attack Glowing Dawn, but they escape to hide after a brief scuffle.

Afterwards, Glowing Dawn commences a operation to save Asuka. To stop them, Chairman Wong deploys Kaito, Honoka and Kanchi to stop them. Glowing Dawn did manage to get around all three and try to subdue him, but ends up being defeated when Gokuwmon intervened and defeated everyone with ease. Helios Boamon then evolves into Albatusmon, which Kyo reassures the rest of his crew that he will take care of alone and asks them to escape. Kyo evolves Murasamemon into Habakirimon to fight Albatusmon, but Murasamemon ends up running out of energy to sustain this form and was forced to fight it with its perfect form. Genjo took the opportunity to ambush Kyo, destroying his right arm, and Albatusmon took the opportunity to kill Murasamemon instantly by impaling him by the chest and leaves alongside Asuka, Gokuwmon and Genjo, leaving Glowing Dawn without a strong moral compass.

With all effective opposition seemingly removed, Chairman Wong takes over Apraxas' core with Albatusmon and Asuka under his control. Thus began the Shangri-La Project, where he will use Albatusmon to Cold Heart anyone who even so speaks against him through their Sapotamas, effectively making him the god emperor of the entire world. To stop his plan and save Asuka, Glowing Dawn and Tactics Team 7 arrange a plan to save him and end Chairman Wong's ambitions once and for all.

Tomoro eventually manages to make his way to Chairman Wong's chamber where Monarch Lizamon fights Gokuwmon. Initially, Monarch Lizamon had the upper hand, which Tomoro took the opportunity to use the paint his grandfather gave to him to disconnect him from Albatusmon. Before he could regain his consciousness however, Kishiwada Kanchi intervened and landed on top of him and Tomoro, removing the paint using his water powers and putting Asuka back to Genjo's control. Gokuwmon then defeats Monarch Lizamon with his strongest attack. Finally, Nishino Senka entered the room to drain nearly all of Tomoro's e-Pulse, incapacitating him and causing Gekkomon to go berserk and become Atratusmon. With both Digimon in their hands and the interloper out of the way, the people around Wong show their true colors and betray him. Genjo orders Asuka to break Wong's hold over Albatusmon, then he and his fellow co-conspirators reveal themselves to be actually disguised rogue Digimon. Genjo, in her true Sanzomon form, Cold Hearts Wong, Jogress Evolves her fellow co-conspirators into Seiten Gokuwmon, then leaves to attack the human world with Atratusmon, Albatusmon and Asuka in-tow. He was saved by Tenma Tomoro with help from Sakuya Reina and Kuonji Makoto's own Ultimate forms, Artiomon and Nosferamon, forcing both Atratusmon and Albatusmon to release the e-Pulse they absorbed.

With Albatusmon freed, Asuka regains his senses and free will, and all of the affected Sapotamas return back to normal. The Kintouin crashes into the floodplains created by Seiten Gokuwmon's attacks prior as Asuka, Tomoro and Gekkomon fall out from it. Tomoro cries in tears seeing his brother regain his senses while Helios Boamon followed suit and safely land the trio on top of a partially submerged building. However, while Tomoro is speaking to Asuka, Seiten Gokuwmon and Sanzomon appear from a Mirror World and attack them, forcing them to fight. Together, the brothers evolve their Digimon to their uncloaked, Ultimate forms to fight Seiten Gokuwmon. They manage to overwhelm the Tathāgata Digimon, but its hatred against humanity is resolute, being subject to inhuman experiments from the World Union years prior, and refuses to give up just yet. Seiten Gokuwmon uses Kagan Kinsei to merge with the Kintouuin, granting itself unimaginable strength and grows to an absolutely massive size. It easily overwhelms the two Ultimates in return until Atratusmon's e-Pulse affects all existing Sapotamas, causing all that did not give birth to a Digimon yet to do so, some fallen Digimon resurrected, and the Digimon of everyone present to evolve to their maximum evolutionary stage. With the e-Pulses of everyone backing them up, Asuka and Tomoro had their Digimon get back up and perform a final Jogress Evoluution into Volvemon, who blocks Seiten Gokuwmon's attacks and defeats it with a Revolutio Rerum powered by the e-Pulse of everyone's Sapotamas, devolving all three of the Digimon it was made of into their Baby I forms. The Baby Digimon were then intercepted by Helios Boamon and ended up in Tomoro's hands.

A couple years later, Digimon were considered a daily part of life rather than glitches. Asuka is last seen performing a concert in Wizarmon's Mirror World, which Tomoro, Hitomi, Chihiro, Haruomi and the now-free Tenma sibling's parents attended.

On December 12, 2025 a patch to the game added the Digimon Beatbreak trailer to the TV screens in Akihabara and Higashi-Shinjuku.

Trivia

• During evolution stock footage in Digimon Beatbreak, the Owner says some short lines. Asuka's lines while evolving Helios Boamon are:
  • Ultimate (Albatusmon): "Pound the beat!", "More! Set yourself free!"
    • Asuka shares his Ultimate lines with his brother, Tenma Tomoro. Both of them also share the same evolution footage, as both evolutions happened at the same time.
