Factorial Area (ファクトリアル・エリア Fakutoriaru Eria) is an area in the Digital World: Iliad.
Overview[edit]
An industrial zone with countless factories. Many Machine and Android Digimon inhabit the area, which is known for its rich veins of Chrondigizoit Metal ore. The region excels at the refining of metal and ore. Since vast quantities of raw materials can be found here, the forge of its guardian, Vulcanusmon of the Olympos XII, can be found here as well. Vulcanusmon does not care for battle, preferring to fully dedicate itself to blacksmithing. As such, it's hard to say its governance is entirely effective. Having taken advantage of the lack of oversight, shady establishments such as black markets and fighting rings have cropped up and become strongly associated with the area.
However, the area boasts an impregnable level of defense and is rarely threatened by external forces thanks to the defensive systems invented by Vulcanusmon and the natural barrier provided by the volcano in which Marsmon resides. The volcano is a stronghold of the region. Except in emergencies, Marsmon trains vigorously inside of it, constantly preparing for whatever crises Iliad may face.[1]

Digimon Story: Time Stranger[edit]
It is a power station complex ruled by Vulcanusmon and the place where the Locomon Terminal was powered by. Its inhabitates are mostly Vulcanusmon's helpers such as Guardromon. Yuki Dan/Kanan, Misono Inori and Aegiomon first arrive here to help suppress the Titans invading the area and restore the Locomon Terminal's services so they can go to the Guardian Palace in hopes of Junomon sending them back to the human world. They successfully suppress the Titans with help from a pair of Kokuwamon and reach Vulcanusmon. Vulcanusmon reveals that he shut down the Locomon rail's power to prevent Titans from abusing it, and attacks the party mistaking them as invading Titans. They destroy his Divine Arms Ω weapon and successfully convinces him to restore the power source and visit the human world, allowing them to pay a visit to the Guardian Palace.
Wild Digimon no longer spawn after the party defeats Vulcanusmon.
8 years later, the area was renovated by the Titans, who built the High-Rise Colosseum on its left side and a theme park on the right side where the Kokuwamon brothers were mistaken to be the saviors of the area. Callismon ruled over the Colosseum with an iron fist before Grappu Leomon evolved into Marsmon and defeated him. Marsmon has took over operations in the Colosseum ever since.
