Profile[edit]

Unlike other Hangyomon, this one has a red scarf around his neck given to him by Shellmon to hide a large scar on his chest. As Neptunemon, the scar remained on his tail.

It was heavily implied that Neptunemon was romantically interested with Venusmon, but she seemed to be oblivious to it.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger[edit]

Before the events of the game, Hangyomon was part of the Titans under Sharkmon. During the attack on Abyss Village, he was wounded, and Shellmon took care of him in spite of his allegiance, which caused him to ultimately switch sides. He'd then join Yuki Dan/Yuki Kanan to fight the very Titans he was once part of, going against former allies such as other Hangyomon and Dagomon. Afterwards, he took the party to the Abyss Depths to meet with his former boss, Sharkmon, to convince him to switch sides. There, he got his friend, Submarimon, to join the party as they couldn't go through the strong currents underwater without his help. While Hangyomon tried to convince Sharkmon to stop, Sharkmon decided to kill him and the party for betraying the Titans, but the party and Hangyomon came out victorious and Sharkmon fled.

The party then went back to the surface to meet with Shellmon once more. However, she was no longer in her house, having left alongside the rest of the villagers. The letter she left behind stated this, as well as how she'd pray for Hangyomon no matter where in Iliad she was, knowing he was a strong warrior. This, plus seeing the state the village was left in, shook Hangyomon's resolve and made him think he couldn't be forgiven for his sins as a Titan, though the Agent and Misono Inori tried to convince him otherwise. Thus, he decided to remain in Abyss Village to protect it so its former inhabitants could one day return.

After saving Gear Forest, Hangyomon calls the Agent once more for the side mission "Hangyomon's Woes". There, he explains to the Agent that he's worried Sharkmon, his old boss, had given up way too easily despite how tenacious he was. Afterwards, he asks the Agent to go with him to get Submarimon. He quickly gave up on that, however, only for Submarimon to show up and, after criticizing how weak-willed his friend was, explain he had found a suspicious place and wanted the rest to join him. Submarimon then took everyone to said suspicious place, where it was hard to breathe. There, they found a Ganimon demanding they gave the Energy Vein back. After being defeated, Ganimon returned to its senses, explaining it remembered finding it hard to breathe, then nothing. This made Hangyomon realize that Sharkmon had affected the Energy Vein before leaving, which could also be the cause of them finding it hard to breathe. Submarimon then asked Hangyomon what he intended to do, and he replied he needed to find an even bigger boss than Sharkmon, then work under them until he was in charge of the squad that patrolled the Abyss Area. In that position, he could stop the attacks on the Abyss Area so Shellmon could come back. The group then came back to the surface, and Hangyomon thanked the Agent before leaving.

8 years later, he evolved into a Neptunemon as the new Titan leader of the Abyss Area and its guardian. Unlike other Titans however, Neptunemon did not want to see war, and constantly postponed Plutomon's orders for him to destroy the area. Plutomon got annoyed and summoned Ranamon to trick Aegiomon and Venusmon (Shellmon) into delivering a bottle of poisoned wine to Neptunemon and assassinating him, which she did with enthusiasm to prove her worth to the Titans. The plan was initially successful as Neptunemon died to the poisoned wine. It was then heavily implied that Ranamon blackmailed Master Blimpmon as well and used him to pour poison into the rest of the area, killing everything inside it. Realizing that she was tricked into assassinating Neptunemon, Venusmon fell into despair and died shortly after. Plutomon was actually possessed by Chronomon during that time and was slowly driving the world towards the Shinjuku Inferno, and Venusmon and Neptunemon's survival was crucial with preventing it.

Neptunemon was saved when Aegiomon used his time-traveling powers to go back to the moment before the wine was delivered, warning Venusmon that the wine was laced with a deadly poison (rather than a sedative), and Ranamon was actually still working for the Titan's designs. They fight her inside Master Blimpmon, then go to Neptunemon's throne to warn him. When they meet, Neptunemon and Venusmon immediately recognize each other despite their changed forms. However, Neptunemon's attempt at thanking Venusmon was interrupted by Ranamon who, angered that she got exposed and her plan failed, transformed into Calamaramon and was slain. Afterwards, looking at his scarf, Neptunemon finally fulfilled his promise and thanked Venusmon. Neptunemon and Venusmon then became the first Apostles of Iliad.

The Agent asks Neptunemon to break Jumbo Gamemon free from a cell in the side mission "Listen to the Voice". Despite Jumbo Gamemon's fears, Neptunemon gladly joins the Agent after they explain the situation to him as a Level 50 Digimon with the Hydro Water III, Lethal Blizzard III and Frozen Bullet III Attachment Skills. Upon meeting Jumbo Gamemon, apologises for not coming sooner then takes down the cell in one blow. He then congratulated Jumbo Gamemon for finding a Chrondigizoit ore vein in said jail. However, Jumbo Gamemon still didn't trust Neptunemon. After apologising once more, Neptunemon invited Jumbo Gamemon to live in the Abyss Sanctuary, which they accepted. Neptunemon then thanks the Agent for the Chrondigizoit ore vein, which he could use to repair his armour whenever he wished, even if it wasn't needed often, and rewarded them for it.

The Royal Knight, Ulforce V-dramon, asked Neptunemon about how to repair his armour in the side mission "The Worthy". Neptunemon explained he had access to a vein of Chrondigizoit ore thanks to Jumbo Gamemon, who proudly stated it found it. Ulforce V-dramon asked Neptunemon for some of it but Neptunemon refused as it was a rare material which couldn't be given to just anybody. Ulforce V-dramon realized that meant he had to prove his worthiness in battle. Neptunemon acknowledged fighting in the ocean would give him too much of an advantage and asked the Agent to join the Royal Knight as partners, though Ulforce V-dramon denied they were and didn't want anyone's help. The Agent convinced him to accept Neptunemon's terms.

Neptunemon is the boss of the side mission "The Worthy". He can use Aqua Pressure III, Wave of Depth and Vortex Penetrate. His affinities are identical to the playable version of Neptunemon (Weak to Electricity and Fire; resists Ice, blocks Water).

The fight convinced Neptunemon of Ulforce V-dramon's honesty and he shared with him the Chrondigizoit to repair his armour. He then asked Jumbo Gamemon to go to the Factorial Area to have the ore processed. Jumbo Gamemon asked Ulforce V-dramon to meet it at Guardromon's place. Ulforce V-dramon wanted to follow it, but Neptunemon asked the Agent to return to him when they could as he had another favour to ask of them. Said favour was the side mission "To My Dearest". There, Neptunemon explained to the Agent that he used the rest of the Blue Chrondigizoit Metal to create a ring for Venusmon as thanks for the scarf and needed the Agent to deliver it to her, hoping the ring alone made with such a precious metal would be enough of a message. He was wrong, however, as Venusmon misunderstood the meaning of the ring and thought it was a Christmas present as she had learned of said human custom from Neptunemon in the first place. As Christmas was celebrated by exchanging presents, she gave some medicine (Venusmon's Cure) to the Agent to deliver to him in return, which left Neptunemon confused. After the Agent explained the misunderstanding, Neptunemon was pleasantly surprised by Venusmon remembering his explanation and was left satisfied even if Venusmon didn't understand his feelings. He accepted he didn't understand his own feelings either and made the ring on a whim, so he was thankful for the gift from her side.

In the Akashic Abyss in "The Final Battle over the Natural Order", Venusmon shows the Agent's party that Neptunemon is fighting against a copy Leviamon of the Seven Great Demon Lords, but tells them to prioritize rescuing and treating their injured allies over helping him, as Neptunemon was losing because he had to both protect said allies while also fighting. After saving everyone and reaching the fight, Venusmon confirmed to Neptunemon that the injured were safe now so Neptunemon could focus on fighting. However, knowing how strong the Seven Great Demon Lords were, Neptunemon asked the Agent's group for their help. Glad they were willing to help, Neptunemon stated he treasured their meeting eight years ago and would now fight together to protect the world. During the fight, Neptunemon can use Saint Knuckle III and Icicle Edge III.

After the fight, Neptunemon thanked the Agent and Aegiomon for saving him so many times but pointed out they had to deal with Chronomon as soon as possible. A massive group of copies then appeared and Neptunemon and Venusmon decided to stay behind to fight them, even if it meant their deaths. Kamemon and Inori then appeared alongside the rest of the Abyss Area's Digimon, including the Titans, ready to fight alongside them, realizing the vision Neptunemon and Venusmon shared. With their confidence boosted, Neptunemon and Venusmon told the Agent's group to continue forward through one of Junomon's gates.

The Apostles of Iliad later united on Ceresmon's back. There, Venusmon told Neptunemon the world would become something no one ever wanted if Chronomon won. Neither were willing to see it happen when their wish had finally come true, and would die without regrets to protect it, together.

Mercurymon, Neptunemon and Venusmon replaced Minervamon after she got too tired to fight Chronomon, being the second wave of reinforcements the Agent got in the fight. Mercurymon put their lives on the line, Neptunemon was unwilling to let the world where they could coexist perish, and Venusmon promised to heal anyone so no one would die. During the fight, Neptunemon can use Aqua Pressure III and Vortex Penetrate.

After Chronomon went back in time and dealt a massive blow to everyone with Kontontaru Zetsubō, the wounded trio left, replaced by Bacchusmon, Marsmon and Vulcanusmon. After leaving though, Mercurymon entrusted the Agent with the power they had left, greatly increasing their CP.

After lowering Chronomon's HP to 0, Mervamon entrusted the Agent with her power. Now having the power of all the Apostles of Iliad and Plutomon, the Agent was able to use it in a X-Arts that released copies of all of them from the Digivice, who then combined their power. The Agent and Aegiomon fused together into Jupitermon once more and absorbed said power, then threw it in Jupitermon's hammer to Chronomon, finally deleting it.

After the fight, Ceresmon brought the Apostles of Iliad back to the proper Iliad. Jupitermon then swore to protect the world alongside them and gave them the name Olympos XII.
